GHANA overtakes Lazy Tz after Rebasing economy

Is a GDP rebasing having to do with the real economic development? or is just a way of sugarcoating a norminal GDP to look good. Some scholars term it as window dressing.
Is GDP rebasing impact directly the living standard (welfare) of the citizens?

Toa your naive African booty scratcher mentality hapa....So GDP Rebasing was wonderful when Tanzania did it lakini it’s a horrible sin if Ghana does the same?

Ghana rebased GDP was 25% bigger. 10% is only in your head.

How the GDP rebasing up lift the value of the real assets of the economy?? By real assets (for simplicity) we mean land, buildings, plants and machinery and knowledge that can be used to produce goods and services. So do these rise for about 32% (corresponding to rebase rise)? If not you have to agree with me on the so called "Window Dressing or Creative GDP".

Rebasing is important although it does not increase capital expenditure or tax to GDP ratio. Even after rebasing a country continues to face the same problems like unemployment,

may be, but what i know, the credits market access depends on country's real assets and creditwothiness. rebasing has nothing to do with the ability of the country to service loans. the creditors will not be looking on the rebased gdp figures, but the evidence which provides by rating firms (e.g. S&P, Moody's & Fitch).

Rebassing of the GDP is simply updating the base year of calculations.
The ideal situation is rebassing annually, but countries sometimes go decades without rebassing.

The rebassed GDP is the true GDP at that time. Creditors who have attended economic classes will go with the true GDP and not what it would have been if the year was 1999.

Also, when Moody's and the rest produce their rating, it is about creditworthiness, not how much.
Kenya may find it easy to pay $10 billion while Tanzania struggles to pay $5 billion.
Countries with extremely different GDPs can have the same rating, but in the eyes of creditors qualify for very different amounts.

This was what Kenyans too had wished for Tz, atleast to keep the people in power on their toes but that failed miserably now by siding with lowassa we looked liked an enemy yet we knw the fruits of breaking away from ccm

Rebasing economy is being cleverly used to borrow more from china and beat debt/GDP ratios!!
 
The biggest whiners in Africa are Tanzanians kila kitu wanateta. Kama ghana imewapita kiuchumi mkubali alafu murudi kwenye drawing board mchunguze nini kibaya.
