The secret husband of late Nigerian artist Goldie Harvey, Andrew who made himself known today is now on Prezzo’s case a day after the sudden death of his Naija queen.


In response to an article about former BBA star Prezzo’s plan to visit Lagos to view Goldie’s last video, here is what Goldie Harvey’s husband said:

Following the death of pop singer Goldie Harvey, her best kept secret came to life: her marriage to Andrew Harvey.


He posted pictures of their wedding on Facebook and tagged it as "Memories of my loving wife".


He said it was his and Goldie's choice to keep their marriage out of the media. He warned Prezzo to let their family , while stating that he was never an issue in their marriage.


He said, "Prezzo was part of BBA game, just like in the movies, there was nothing to fear. It dragged because the media dragged it, other wise it would have died naturally. Prezzo will say anything to get attention."

Andrew Harvey, the widower of the Nigerian singing sensation, Goldie Harvey, who passed on on Thursday night has warned the first runner-up in the 2012 Big Brother All Star TV reality Show, Prezzo, to keep away from the musician's family as he and other relatives mourn his wife's death.
Mr. Harvey was reacting to reports that Prezzo, the 32 year old Kenya rapper was so devastated by Goldie's death that he immediately jumped on a plane to Nigeria. Both Goldie and Prezzo were fellow contestants in last year's Big Brother All Star TV reality Show, where they appeared to have hit it off.
But after sharing the report on his Facebook Page, Mr. Harvey, a senior contracts engineer based in Kuala Lumpur, left a comment, warning the Kenyan to keep away, saying the musician had caused the family enough trouble already.
"Prezzo, please, leave our family to grieve in peace," Mr. Harvey, who appears to be in England at the moment, said. "You have caused enough hurt and pain."
He did not provide details of the pain Prezzo had caused. But his comment left many (who apparently didn't know Goldie was married) wondering where Mr. Harvey was while his wife appeared to have a sizzling romance with Prezzo.
"Goldie and Prezzo's relationship was not a secret. Where was the hubby all this while? It doesn't make sense unless they were separated," Aluwani Ndou, commented.
Mr. Marvey then explained, "BBA is no different than being in a movie, some actors have to live with their wives "acting" certain scenes in movies, that goes with the job. If you love each other and nothing untoward happens so what!"
But in this video, Goldie opened up on Prezzo, admitting a relationship between them.

Late Nigerian Singer Goldie Harvey‘s husband, Andrew Harvey has shared their wedding pictures to honour his late wife.


Andrew Harvey who has never been in the spotlight revealed himself today to debunk Prezzo’s claim as Goldie’s fiance.

We clearly remember years ago, Goldie gave an in-depth interview to a Nigerian newspaper. In the interview, the star talked about several intimate subjects – her mother's death when she was a young child, living and studying for her degree in the UK, her entrepreneurial pursuits (at the time, she had a successful business unrelated to music – from what we remember, it was related to making cards) and also her marriage.After that, we never saw any other mention of her marriage in future interviews. We simply assumed that she decided to keep it private or the marriage was dissolved.

In an interview with TheNetNG, Andrew who used to work as an expartriate in the oil and telecommuncations industries in Nigeria and is presently based in Malaysia, he confirmed the following:


That he and Goldie met at a friend's party in Nigeria and the love connection was instant
That he and Goldie got married in December 2005
That he and Goldie were until her death, legally married
That Goldie's "relationship" with Prezzo was just for TV – "Prezzo was part of BBA game, just like in the movies, there was nothing to fear"
That Goldie had no preexisting medical condition
That Goldie was already a British Citizen before they met (she lived and schooled there) while he was in the process of working on his Nigerian citizenship
That he and Goldie actually spent the most recent Christmas holiday together in Malaysia
That he and Goldie were still together and spoke on the day she passed away – 14th February 2013
As we all know Goldie still bore Andrew's last name – Harvey.

According to the late singer, "My childhood was very interesting, but regimented. My dad was a leader in church and very active too while my mum used to lead the choir. So, as their first child, I took very active roles in all church activities – drama, choir, bible classes and so on. Church was the only social life we had. On Mondays, we went for bible classes; Wednesdays were for prayer meetings and then one Friday in a month, we went for vigil. I never had toys or friends because my father thought they would lead me astray." Thus, her mum was her closest friend. However, the bond that held mother and daughter together snapped irretrievably in 1994.




Losing her mum was devastating for the 31-year old. Goldie described her mum as a woman of high intellectual and moral values. "She was the first to have a scholarship in her family. She was an avid reader and had a lot of certificates and degrees." Every night, when every other person had gone to bed, Goldie and her mum would stay up chitchatting and watching television. She was the only friend Goldie had. But she died too soon after a long-drawn battle with cancer, leaving behind four kids. "It was a traumatic experience for me especially, because it was like losing my only friend and confidant. I cried bitterly and even up till now, over a decade later, the pain of her demise has not left me." Goldie was however consoled by the equivalent replacement that she had described as God-sent. A movie buff and avid reader, when Goldie was not in the comfort of her home, she was making good music at the Kennis Music Studio. Though a nocturnal person, you can hardly find Goldie at Nightclubs because she believes in channelling such hours into creative engagements.
