I was in Mombasa for a week some months back n to say that truth TUK TUKS in Mombasa are really quite hazina kelele kama zile za nairobi na nakuru and they are all new sana I don't know why they would do this....


Hapa nakuru tuk tuk will pass near you right now 5mins later utaskia engine yake ikililia mbali really noisey!!!

The Port Reitz/ Moi International Airport road was officially launched by H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta this morning. The road will go along way in decongesting the vehicular traffic and spurring economic growth of Mombasa.

This project is a joint effort between the County government of Mombasa, the British Government through Trademark East Africa and the National Government.

"We are looking forward to the dualling of the Mariakani road and the Dongo Kundu Bypass projects"

Mombasa’s Ksh1.2 Billion Street Lighting Project Makes City Operational for 24 Hours

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday evening toured the coastal city of Mombasa to inspect the upgraded network and street lighting project.

The Mwangaza Mtaani project, which cost Ksh 1.2 Billion, is expected to make the popular tourist destination operational for 24 hours. Mombasa Old Town has also been lit up at a cost of Ksh 45 Million.

Accompanied by a section of Coastal leaders and Kenya Power’s Dr. Chumo, Uhuru took casual strolls on the streets of Mombasa as he interacted with some locals.

The inspection comes a day after the Head of State toured the headquarters of Kenya Ferry Services in Likoni. To alleviate the challenges facing the ferry services, the government plans to build the Dongo Kundu bypass. There is also a proposed construction of the Changamwe bypass that will link the western part of Mombasa and the North Coast.

Many people in the engineering industry say that even more than Nairobi,Msa has a far greater potential for having a tramway/light rail/subway/Rapid transit system than Nairobi. Its smaller and more compact which means owning a car is expensive(not to mention the sea salt and humidity factors). Its only a matter of time and i see Msa having a more advanced transportation system than any city in EAC .
