Do men have their day too?
YES MKUU, IPO SIKU YA KIMATAIFA YA WANAUME na hata Tanzania inaadhimishwa:
Tanzania
[On Saturday 19 November 2011, Youth Challenge International (YCI), in partnership with local and international organizations celebrated International Men's Day for the first time in Arusha and Morogoro, Tanzania. In Arusha, YCI, The Umoja Centre, Support for International Change, UMATI, Initiative for Youth Organization and Global Service Corps hosted the event at the Mbauda Open Market Ground. This event was aimed to promote men and boys as positive role models and to educate the community on the role of males and females in health, education, family life, violence and life choices. The event included performances, games, and educational activities. Over 500 youth and other community members came together to acknowledge the roles and responsibilities of men and boys in creating a brighter future for all Tanzanians. To celebrate the event in Morogoro, volunteers, along with partner organization Faraja Trust Fund, held a soccer tournament on with 8 local teams. To participate in the tournament each team had to come to two information sessions on male sexual and reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, gender roles and good governance. At these sessions we challenged their knowledge of HIV/AIDS and gender roles. YCI and Faraja provided an on-site HIV testing centre, a DJ with music and dancing throughout the day, and drama group performances on the key objectives of International Men's Day].

In short Mkuu, there is a day for everything, for every colour and taste.

What's the purpose of this day?

Do men have their day too?

What about the transgenders? The hermaphrodites?

That should be everyday and not just one day! I, for one, celebrate, appreciate, respect, and love my little woman here every single second, minute, and hour of everyday, of every week, of every month, and of every year that she has been part of my life.

The purpose of this day is to celebrate womanhood and to remember the challenges that women face in their strugle for true equality among humans. After all, a little bit more than half of the human population is concerned here 🙂
Kama unahisi wanaume pia wana strugle basi anzisha men's day. Hermaphrodites na transgenders pia wanaweza anzisha zao.

As a champion for women's rights I just happen to think that that should be an everyday thing and not just a one day affair.

Ivuga nadhani it will be more interesting kama tunaweza kujibu haya maswali badala ya kukugongea like na kushukuru tu. Sometimes siku kama hizi hazieleweki vema na azimio zilizo undwa zinashindwa kutimizwa sababu zinakosa support ya the other half of humankind, men.

It is an everyday struggle but with one day to regroup and mobilize the world around them, as it is easier to evaluate the impacts that have been made on an annual basis. Kila mwaka kuna theme inayo tolewa. Theme ya mwaka huu ni 'empower rural women, end hunger and poverty'.
Kuna miradi zitaanzishwa mwaka huu kwa lengo hili (zinaweza kua project za miaka kadhaa) na mwaka kesho zitakua evaluated, adjusted and re-writed if need be. Miradi ya mwaka huu zitaongezwa katika miradi ya miaka ilio pita, na miaka itakayo kuja.
Chukulia siku hii kama general mobilization to raise awareness on some problems faced by women (and which most of the time have a negative impact on the life of the community as a whole), but done in a festive, 'celebrative' way.
