Suso on Instagram:

“It’s a goal that does not change the story. Does not cancel the negative period, nor the deserved whistles. Or the right criticism. It’s a goal that makes us breathe and makes us understand that the road is the right one, but it’s long.”

Suso: “I play and cheer for Milan. It doesn’t matter who plays or who scores. Going back to high levels is what counts. It’s up to us all to now decide our future. There are 2 games before the break. We believe, because everything is possible. Always, always Forza Milan.”

German Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt are unimpressed with the performance of striker André Silva, as per Bild cited by Calciomercato.com.

The 23-year-old is currently on a two-year loan with the Die Adler, but as per the latest report, the club’s hierarchy is unimpressed with the performances of striking trio of Silva, Bas Dos and Dejan Joveljic and therefore, they are looking to sign a new forward in January.

Silva has represented Frankfurt in seven matches in all competition where he has scored three goals.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is closing in on returning to AC Milan for a second spell at the club, according to a report.

We reported recently that the Rossoneri’s owners Elliott Management have given their approval for Paolo Maldini, Zvonomir Boban and Ricky Massara to go out and sign experienced players in the January window.

Ibrahimovic has been repeatedly linked with a move back to Milan after he left for Paris Saint-Germain in 2012, and speculation was fuelled when Paolo Maldini branded him a ‘dream player’ during the week.

It has even been claimed that CEO Ivan Gazidis had given his approval for Ibrahimovic’s return to the club despite his age (38) and the high salary he would likely demand.

Now, Marca are claiming that Zlatan is ‘likely to return for another spell with Milan’, despite Tuttomercatoweb reporting that Manchester United have also been in contact over a return to Old Trafford.

As the Marca report notes, Ibrahimovic notched 148 goals and 61 assists in 294 Serie A games across spells at Juventus, Inter and Milan.

After a slow start to his adventure at AC Milan, Rade Krunic has picked himself up in the last couple of games. Against Lazio, the Bosnian got the chance from start and did surprisingly well, which changes things.
According to Fabrizio Romano, in his latest video for Calciomercato.com, the midfielder was one of the few positives from the game. Furthermore, the player has received important signals from Stefano Pioli, who wants to focus on him.
Therefore, as Romano states, the manager has ruled out the hypothesis if a loan departure in January. Indeed, the management is convinced that focusing on Krunic is the right call, moving forward together.
There will be a meeting between the club and the player’s agent in January to assess the situation, Romano continues. However, for the time being, the intention of both parties is to continue the partnership. Unless anything comes up, Krunic will remain.

Former AC Milan boss Fabio Capello has criticised his old club for lacking ‘personality’, taking aim at two players in particular.
The Rossoneri were beaten at home in the league by Lazio for the first time in 30 years on Sunday night, with Joaquin Correa netting the winner seven minutes from time.
The defeat is Milan’s sixth in 11 games to start the season, their worst beginning to a campaign since the 1941-42 season.
Pressure is growing on head coach Stefano Pioli to start delivering results already, but with Juventus (away) and Napoli (home) next up, there is a chance the team could be looking over their shoulders from their current spot in the bottom half.
Capello spoke to Radio Anch’io Sport about Milan, essentially admitting they are in a crisis of sorts.
“Milan are in trouble. The players are not of Milan level, you can tell. They are playing with fear,” he said (via MilanNews.it).
He then criticised Lucas Paqueta and Rafael Leao for not meeting expectations, and also aimed a dig at Alessio Romagnoli for not being captain material.
“They don’t have any personality and they don’t perform according to their set value.
“Paqueta has quality, but he doesn’t show it. Leao made me nervous against Lazio. He needs to keep playing when Milan don’t have possession.
“Yesterday he played only when he had the ball at his feet. I repeat, I think the problems Milan are facing are in their heads.
“When you don’t have a lot of quality and your head is not working. The situation at the club might have an impact.
“I don’t see a leader, a captain, not only someone who wears the armband, but a player who can also help extend the ideas of the coach and create a collective.”

The former Brazil manager, Carlos Dunga, spoke to Sky Italia (via MilanNews.it) on Lucas Paqueta’s position at AC Milan. The Rossoneri have had a poor start to the season, which has affected the young midfielder.
Milan have lost six of their first 11 games in Serie A this season, with the most recent one coming against Lazio last night. In the interview, Dunga stated that he thinks Paqueta would do better with another team.
“Everyone expects him to solve Milan’s problems. With a more ready team, he is another player. He still has to grow and understand what his best position is,” Dunga stated.
The Rossoneri paid around €40m to Flamengo for the player in January (via Transfermarkt). In fact, he had an instant impact on the team along with the other arrival Kris Piatek, almost leading Milan to a top-four finish.
However, the duo has since dropped in form. One could suspect that it has to do with the departure of Gennaro Gattuso, who resigned from his position as manager of the San Siro side in the summer. On the other hand, few players have performed as of late.

According to Football Italia, AC Milan right winger Samu Castillejo will be out for about 10 days after picking up a hamstring injury in the fixture against Lazio. The Spain international was a bright spark in the first half of the game after being abruptly subbed off after picking up the strain.

Milan take on Juventus next after which they have an international break. Castillejo scored four goals for Milan last season and assisted four times too.

Ante Rebic hasn’t had the best of starts to his AC Milan adventure, playing just 127 minutes for the Rossoneri in the first eleven rounds of Serie A. Furthermore, he hasn’t exactly impressed when given the chance to prove himself.
The Croatian came off the bench last Sunday night to replace the injured Castillejo, who has started the game well. However, he didn’t offer much to his side and the fans were left disappointed by his display.
Former AC Milan player Stefano Eranio believes he knows the reason behind the winger’s poor form. Speaking to MilanTV (via PianetaMilan.it) during their show this evening, the 52-year-old stated that Rebic is ‘overweight’.
“Rebic? I think he has put on 4kg since the game in Verona. Borini would have been more ready. You can’t put yourself and your teammates in trouble by making a move that is against your characteristics. I wouldn’t let him play,” he stated.
The Rossoneri will face Juventus next weekend and Rebic could get the chance once again, as both Castillejo and Suso are on the injury. On the other hand, Pioli might opt for a different solution after the Lazio outing.

📌 Former Juventus head coach Massimiliano Allegri and ex-Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta are among the candidates to replace Unai Emery should the Gunners sack the Spaniard, according to the Mirror. Allegri has also been linked to Bayern Munich and Manchester United, while Arteta is serving as Pep Guardiola's Manchester City assistant. Jose Mourinho has also reportedly emerged as an option.

Milan will knock on Juventus' door once again in January trying to acquire one of Demiral and Rugani. Milan hope that Juve lower their demands and also counts on the two players' desire to get more playing time

On the sidelines of the recent Gran Galà del Calcio award show, vice-president of the FIGC Demetrio Albertini discussed recent events in Italian football as well as breakout stars of the season, via Calciomercato.com.

"It’s an event in which the jury is made up of players and professionals. It is a moment of celebration, also for the Association of Players to live in the best possible way. Are there many Italians in the competition? Well, those employed are less and less. We have talent, we have excellent coaches and we have an important football culture, it should only be valued. We need to have the courage to let our players play. Castrovilli? He’s not receiving a gift; he’s earned it on the pitch. Perhaps there's not enough guys in the national team who can help young players grow. Those who are part of Mancini's group are missing a few games at the international level to compete with the biggest ones. Napoli case? We're not inside, we only see the tip of the iceberg.

It's not a situation to be assessed superficially. Milan? They’re a talented team but they’re not an expert team. Experience is fundamental, you can't buy it. This experience should be put in the locker room, on the pitch. Ibrahimovic has a lot of experience, of course. But I don't know about negotiations. Piatek? Juve are the favourites but football is good because it's on the pitch where the talking happens. As a player it's a stimulating challenge, which can give morale, the confidence to get up. A game can turn everything on its head".

Fiorentina midfielder Gaetano Castrovilli has become one of the most discussed players in the league this season, with his strong performances with the Florence based club causing many to pay attention to him.

The Napoli squad’s recent protest about the training retreat has seen both fans and former players furious with the current squad, with the club threatening legal and financial action because of the protest.

*Pioli: Milan On Par With Juve*

Stefano Pioli insists Milan “were at least on a par” with Juventus in the 1-0 defeat , but again paid the price for not taking chances. “We need results now.”

This was probably the best Rossoneri performance of the season so far, with a series of Wojciech Szczesny saves on Krzysztof Piatek, Hakan Calhanoglu and Lucas Paqueta.

However, Juve substitute Paulo Dybala got the decisive goal with a moment of magic as he dribbled past Alessio Romagnoli to drill home.

The 1-0 result means Milan have now lost their last nine Serie A trips to Juve and are only four points off the relegation zone.

“We put in the performance, were at least on a par with our opponents, if not more, but if you don’t turn those chances into goals, you are going to pay,” the coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“We’ve got to keep working and improving. Our current position is unworthy of Milan and that must keep us worried and concentrated at all times.

“Unfortunately, it’s the same thing I said last Sunday after Lazio, which is that we had the opportunities and I don’t think many have 15 shots on goal the way we did at the Juventus Stadium, but we need to convert more of them.

“We also conceded a goal when we should’ve been tighter in our defending and marking.

I can only underline that the performance is good, but we need the results too. We have to improve our position in the table, it’s time to take some punches and work hard.

“I see improvements every day, I saw them in recent matches, as we were by no means inferior to Lazio or Juventus.

We must understand that at this level, every single ball can be decisive.

“We haven’t had as many points as we expected, nor as many as we probably deserved lately, but the performances have been there.”

Pioli tested out the three-man defence in training this week, so can that be a solution for the near future?

“I don’t think so.”

Lucas Paqueta was the best player on the field during AC Milan’s 1-0 defeat to Juventus on Sunday night, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Rossoneri lost their ninth straight game away from home against Juve in Serie A, with substitute Paolo Dybala netting the decisive goal 13 minutes from time.

On the whole though it was one of Milan’s best performances of the season as they created numerous chances and made the Bianconeri work incredibly hard for their three points.
Nonetheless, Milan now sit in 14th position in the league table having lost seven of their first 12 games to start the season.
La Gazzetta dello Sport’s player ratings (via MilanNews.it ) heaped praise upon Paqueta for his performance in the middle of the park, awarding him a 6.5/10.

Gianluigi Donnarumma and Andrea Conti each also received marks of 6.5 with the latter particularly impressive on the right.
Leo Duarte, Theo Hernandez, Ismael Bennacer and Rade Krunic all got scores of 6, while Alessio Romagnoli, Suso and Giacomo Bonaventura all got 5.5/10.

Krzysztof Piatek (who missed a couple of good chances) Hakan Calhanoglu and Rafael Leao (not in the game) were all criticised however, scoring just 5/10.
