Louis Vuitton owner Bernard Arnault is awaiting a response from Elliott Management after making an offer to buy AC Milan, a report claims.

Lawyer Antonello Martinez recently stated that he has a copy of a document which proves Arnault wants to buy Milan, with the business tycoon having requested due diligence (background checks).

Meanwhile, il Sole 24 Ore reported on Monday the team’s performances on the field could mean that Elliott lower their claims and get rid of an “asset” that is becoming a burden, adding that Arnault is indeed interested in purchasing the club.

According to a report on MilanLive.it – who cite La Repubblica – Elliott Management have a long-term plan for the Rossoneri, but a sale should not be ruled out if a good offer is presented.

And a good offer may have already arrived, as the paper claims that Arnault has tabled a €975m bid to buy Milan, which is a serious proposal given the club’s recent struggles on and off the pitch financially.

AC Milan face competition from three clubs for the signing of Dinamo Zagreb starlet Dani Olmo, a report claims, including two Premier League giants.

The player recently revealed that he feels his time in Croatia has come to an end, seemingly an indication that he is ready to take the next step in his career.

Olmo has risen to prominence since playing a starring role in the Spain side that won the U21 European Championships over the summer, and a number of big clubs have been linked.

According to the Manchester Evening News – as cited by MilanNews.it – both Manchester City and Manchester United are ready to go head to head in January to try and sign the winger, who has eight goals in 20 appearances this season so far.

However, Olmo has admirers in Italy too, as Milan and Atalanta are both monitoring the player, who has a value of up to €30million.

Dinamo sporting director Marko Vukelic actually confirmed that their prized asset Olmo is ‘on the list’ of Milan as a potential transfer target.

AC Milan have identified an alternative to Barcelona defender Jean-Clair Todibo, a report claims, as a distance remains between the Rossoneri and the LaLiga side over a deal.

According to Tuttosport – as cited by MilanNews.it – Milan have abandoned their pursuit of Merih Demiral, who for Juventus is considered non-transferable, but they still wish to sign a centre-back.

Milan and Barcelona have been talking about a deal for Todibo for some time, but for the moment there is still a distance between the offer and the request with Manchester United and Everton seemingly lurking among others.

The Catalan giants are asking for €25million, the paper claims, plus the inclusion of a buy-back clause in the deal, while Paolo Maldini is willing to pay €15m plus bonuses with no repurchase option.

The parties are continuing to negotiate and hope to reach an agreement in the coming weeks, however Milan have already identified a potential alternative Wesley Fofana.

The 19-year-old has played 11 games so far this season for Saint-Etienne between Ligue 1, the Europa League and the Coupe de la Ligue.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic “certainly did not want to leave Milan” in 2012 and Adriano Galliani also reveals he was close to partnering the Swede with Carlos Tevez.

The former LA Galaxy star agreed a return to San Siro on Friday, pending a medical on January 2, with a six-month deal plus option to extend for another season.

Ex-Rossoneri CEO Galliani told La Gazzetta dello Sport why this comeback has been a long time coming.

“Ibra certainly did not want to leave Milan. He was sold to balance the books,” Galliani told La Gazzetta dello Sport of the 2012 sale to Paris Saint-Germain.

“He has always been the one to decide his destiny, except on that occasion. Together we won the Scudetto his first year, the last for Milan before Juventus started their record-breaking run, and the Supercoppa Italiana in 2011.

“The next season, we finished second, that was the year Sulley Muntari’s goal wasn’t given despite crossing the line in Milan-Juve in February.

“Before that, however, in January 2012, it was all done for Alexandre Pato to join PSG and we’d bring Carlos Tevez in from Manchester City. What a dream pairing, Ibra-Tevez!
“The whole deal fell apart and who knows what could’ve happened? I think we would’ve continued winning, as at that time we were still in front of Juve. History changed, Milan finished second and in the summer of 2012, the old guard moved on.”

Galliani reveals just how badly Ibrahimovic took the forced transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, along with Thiago Silva.

“He wasn’t talking to me for a while. Once he got over the disappointment of having to leave Milan, he gave an interview in which he spoke highly of me and our relationship.”
It was a classic case of Galliani wheeling and dealing to get Ibrahimovic from Barcelona in the final days of the 2010 summer transfer window.

“I left for Barcelona on a private jet, where I met with Zlatan and (agent Mino) Raiola, but not President Sandro Rosell. He was in Ibiza on vacation, but thanks to our great friendship, I convinced him to come back.

“I superstitiously chose the same hotel, restaurant and airport that worked for me on the Ronaldinho move. It was such a great deal: €24m payable over three years. Just 12 months earlier, Barca had paid over twice that to buy him from Inter.

“We celebrated by going to the restaurant, but when the time came to pay, neither of my two credit cards were working. In the end, Ibra had to pay and he gave me an odd look.
“I reassured him: don’t worry, we’ve got the money. He laughed like crazy.”

Zlatan Ibrahimovic could end up staying at AC Milan in 2021-22 as well due to an important tax rule in Italy, according to a report.
Milan announced Ibrahimovic’s return via a statement on their official website on Friday, with the Swede having put pen to paper on a deal which will run until the end of the current campaign, but there is the option for a 12-month extension.

According to MilanNews.it though – who cite La Gazzetta dello Sport – one of the fundamental aspects behind the economic agreement is linked to the ‘Growth Decree’ scheme brought in by the government of current prime minister Giuseppe Conte.

The basis of this is that it provides important tax relief for workers (therefore also football players) who return to Italy after having left.
Milan have forecast a gross expenditure of €12m for the next 18 months on Ibrahimovic’s contract, which will see €7.5m go back to the Swede and not €6m as it would be for ‘normal’ Italian workers.

However, in order to ensure that these ‘tax bonuses’ are activated, the worker in question must remain in Italy for at least two years.

It is precisely for this reason Milan could renew his contract for 2021-22 as well, perhaps not as a player but in some kind of coaching, ambassadorial or even media role

AC Milan have been left surprised by Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo and his stance on Lucas Paqueta, a report claims.

Speculation has been rife regarding the Brazilian since Sunday’s defeat to Atalanta, after which the reliable Gianluca Di Marzio reported that PSG have concrete interest in Paqueta, with negotiations already well underway between the two clubs.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri do not consider the Brazilian to be unsellable and in recent days they have had contacts with the PSG to try to enter into a negotiation.

Former sporting director Leonardo – who left for the French capital at the end of last season – is believed to be keen on signing Paqueta for a second time after he helped bring him to Italy from Flamengo in January.

However at present there is a cooling of operations, the report claims. Milan are asking for €40million (even if it is a flexible figure), which is what they spent twelve months ago to buy him.

Leonardo has no intention of matching that valuation though, a choice that has ‘aroused a certain amazement’ at Casa Milan, given that back in January he thought that amount to be fair but it seems that is no longer the case.

Milan would like to loan Stanislav Lobotka (Celta Vigo) with an obligation to buy. For now, Rossoneri have not contacted the Spanish club regarding the 25-year-old. Napoli also thinks about Slovak. Azzurri are ready to offer 18-20 million euros for the player.

From Spain: Barcelona starlet rejected AC Milan move

Barcelona's Carlos Alena completed a loan move to Betis today, despite having numerous offers on the table. According to Mundo Deportivo , the one that tempted him most was that of AC Milan, who have freshly signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer.

The Spanish paper adds that Paolo Maldini personally spoke with the player's father to transfer the interest of the Rossoneri to incorporate the player into their ranks. When the player told him that his idea was to return to Barcelona, the counteroffer was a loan deal with an option to buy after 18 months.

But Alena had no intention of leaving the Nou Camp beyond this season. And while Maldini spoke with his father, Betis coach Rubi transmitted to the player the idea of football he had and the role he could play in the team. Alena preferred to continue in the La Liga with a project in which the coach has a lot of weight.

*Capello: 'Ibrahimovic good for Milan'*

Fabio Capello is confident Zlatan Ibrahimovic represents “a good signing for Milan” and has “more quality than any of his teammates.”

The 38-year-old arrived as a free agent from the LA Galaxy, agreeing a six-month contract with option to extend for another season.

“I think that Ibrahimovic is a good signing for Milan. He is a player who has character, who will step on to the field not just to participate, but to win. That acts as extra motivation for the others,” Capello told Rai 2 show Dribbling.

“Obviously, as he hasn’t played for months, he’ll struggle to get into shape quickly, but has more quality than any of his teammates.”

It remains to be seen whether Ibrahimovic will play alongside Krzysztof Piatek or Rafael Leao.

“Ibrahimovic has this great capacity for making his teammates play better. Some players scored lots of goals when they were alongside him, then struggled after he left. I am above all talking about midfielders who push up from deep to go clear on goal.”

Capello was the first Italian coach to work with Ibra at Juventus when he made the move from Ajax in 2004.

“I tried to bring out the quality and talent that was within him, but he had struggled until then to truly bring to the fore.”

Milan will have real problems fighting their way into the top four in Serie A this season, though.

“Juventus and Inter both have what it takes to win the Scudetto, but I have to say the Roman clubs are doing very well too. Lazio in particular have no fear about going up against the favourites.”

AC Milan have turned their attentions towards the defence after signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic with talks reportedly ongoing over a deal for Jean-Clair Todibo.

Todibo – who turns 20 today – continues to be the centre-back most strongly linked with a move to the Rossoneri, with negotiations having been ongoing for sometime through Paolo Maldini.

According to Monday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (as cited by MilanNews.it ), there is in fact an agreement between Milan and Barcelona over a deal: a loan until the end of the season with obligation to buy set at €20m.

Given the former Toulouse man’s €150million release clause this seems like a snip, but at the moment there is still no agreement between Todibo and Milan, though there is still great confidence and optimism that it can be found.

The Diavolo have told Todibo he would be a starter alongside Alessio Romagnoli, giving him the chance to play with greater continuity.
Given his pace and right-footed nature, he is in theory the ideal partner for the Milan captain, despite his inexperience.

Raiola: 'Milan fans should apologise'

Mino Raiola feels Milan fans owe him an apology over Gianluigi Donnarumma and disagrees he earns too much commission. “It’s all in proportion.”

Raiola made a reported €25m from Paul Pogba’s sale to Manchester United in 2016 and is said to have pocketed €15m from the deal that took Erling Haaland to Borussia Dortmund.

“My commission depends on the player’s salary, it’s the same for everyone. I don’t point a gun at anyone’s head,” he continued to La Repubblica.

“Of course [it influences the market]. I don’t want to find myself on August 29 still deciding what needs to be done.

“The point with commission is: do I earn a lot or do I earn too much? I agree that I earn a lot.
“Today a big club is worth €4bn, it’s all in proportion. Money is part of the show. And besides, it’s not money that motivates me.
“I was already a millionaire at the age of 20. I could simply lay on a beach and live off my income. FIFA hides its problems so it can attack agents.”

The agent was known for his dislike of Milan under the ownership of Yonghong Li and tried to move on Donnarumma two years ago...
“The fans should apologise for Donnarumma: Mino, you were right. I wanted to take him elsewhere because I didn’t trust that Milan [owned by Li], just like I didn’t trust Thohir’s Inter. Tell me I wasn’t right about him!
“I may be politically incorrect and not much of a romantic, but my aim is to maximise the careers of my players.

“I always ask myself: ‘What would I do if he was my son?’ Money is only the last step.”

Lucas Paquetà and AC Milan are likely to part ways in January. This is what Fabrizio Romano writes in his latest piece for Calciomercato.com, amid rumours linking the Brazilian midfielder with a move to Ligue 1 giants PSG.

However, as he continues, it will only be done on the Rossoneri’s terms. In the last few hours, the Milan management even made it clear to Paqueta’s entourage that they won’t make any discounts.

Paris Saint-Germain are serious in their pursuit of the player, as Leonardo is carrying out the operation. The sporting director is a huge admirer of the Milan no.39, having brought him to the club a year ago.

As of now, though, Leonardo hasn’t submitted an acceptable offer yet. That is, at least €30-35m as an overall evaluation, per Romano. The midfielder has already said yes to the move, but Milan won’t back down.

Maldini, Boban and Massara were clear with Paquetà and those close to him: to sell him in January, an important offer is needed and the player’s yes is not enough. Soon, as Romano states, the parties will have new contacts to evaluate the situation.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic spoke to Milan TV upon his arrival at the Linate airport this morning.

"I remember many years ago, the same place. The important thing is that I am here, I am very happy and very excited," he said.

"I have always said that this is my home, I am finally here, I have been in other teams, however, I'm back and that's the important thing.

A message for the fans?
Cadabra akamalizia kwa kusema *I'm finally here, wait for me in the San Siro to make it jump like before,"*
