AC Milan are one of a number of clubs interested in signing Real Socieded striker Alexander Isak this summer, according to a report.

The Sweden international broke through the ranks at AIK before Borussia Dortmund decided to sign him three years ago, however he struggled for game time and was loaned to Willem II in the Eredivisie for the second half of last season.

During his spell in the Netherlands he netted 13 goals in 18 games, which persuade Real Sociedad to take a chance by signing him on a five-year deal.

As Calciomercato.com note, the 20-year-old has seven league goals for the Basque club so far this season and is beginning to look like a bargain given he cost just €6.5m.

Dortmund do have a €30million buy-back clause which is valid from summer 2021 until 2024, but in situations like these the player’s will is key, and he has already stated: “Dortmund belongs to the past, now I am only thinking of doing well with Real Sociedad.”

The 6ft4 striker is being followed by many teams in Europe, first of all by those who want to focus on growing young talented players to achieve capital gains on the balance sheet.

That is why Milan are registering an interested as the strategy of owners Elliott Management has been exactly that. In addition, they may appoint German Ralf Rangnick as head coach, who has experience identifying and developing prospects with Salzburg and Leipzig.

Franck Kessie has once again established himself as an important part of AC Milan’s plans despite being persistently linked with a January exit.

The Ivorian has made a home for himself in Stefano Pioli’s starting XI alongside Ismael Bennacer, with the duo sitting as the anchormen in the new 4-2-3-1 system.

A report from Calciomercato.com notes how Kessie had been at the centre of various rumours last month, including the potential of both a move to the Premier League and a more concrete link with city rivals Inter.

The report claims that Antonio Conte had highlighted the profile of the former Atalanta man as the most suitable to add muscle to the Nerazzurri midfield, and that a swap deal involving Matias Vecino was proposed but ultimately rejected by the Rossoneri.

This is because Pioli made it clear that he wanted to focus on Kessie in the new midfield, and the results paid off.

The idea that Kessie stays beyond the summer into next season is possible too. His positive performances are making the management and owners reflect, and even if an offer of €30m or more arrives, the club are afraid of not finding a suitable substitute for the same economic conditions.

Manchester United defensive midfielder Nemanja Matic has been offered to AC Milan on a free transfer.

The name of the new coach is the hottest topic at AC Milan these days. Many sources claim that Ralf Rangnick has already signed a contract with the Rossoneri while officially Milan insist that Stefano Pioli is the coach and any discussion on the matter will happen in the summer.

What is sure is that Milan are continuously working on the transfer market despite the name of the next coach. One of the name being linked with AC Milan is Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic.

The 31-year-old Serbian defensive midfielder is one of the big names that are set to become free agents this summer. His contract expires in June and no renewal talks have been held.

AC Milan have struggled a lot this season in the defensive midfielder position with Lucas Biglia being injured for the majority of the season leaving Milan exposed with Ismael Bennacer the only player available in that role.

In addition to being an experienced veteran midfielder and available for free, Matic has already been offered to AC Milan reports Calciomercato. Three years ago Manchester United paid €45 million to purchase Nemanja Matic from Chelsea. This season the 31-year-old has made 10 Premier League appearances.

AC Milan make rich renewal offer to Ibrahimovic

Posted on February 25, 2020 by Rossonero

AC Milan are moving to renew the contract of Zlatan Ibrahimovic offering to double his current wages to €7 million.

Someone had doubts about the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to AC Milan, however, the Swedish champion has showed he could still be important for the Rossoneri. Despite being 38-year-old, Ibra is still one of the best players in Serie A.

Zlatan’s impact has been absolutely positive at Milan, where his teammates have taken him as an example and manage to give something more on the pitch compared to before. The presence of such an experienced player that has won countless trophies is helping the squad a lot. Though he is not as prolific as he was ten years ago, Ibrahimovic remains a formidable force in front of the goal.

Ibrahimovic’s contract expires in June 2020 and it includes an automatic renewal only in the event of Champions League qualification. It is unlikely that AC Milan finish the season in fourth place considering the 9 points of distance with Atalanta. However, the Rossoneri club are willing to keep Zlatan even for next year.

Sportmediaset confirms that Milan have made concrete steps in this direction. The management will offer Ibrahimovic a one-year extension of 7 million euros plus bonuses to keep him at San Siro also for the next season. A figure that is about twice what the Swedish striker currently earns for 6 months. A very rich proposal, considering his age. The parties could also discuss the future of the striker after his football career ends.

This is Ibra’s second spell with AC Milan. Zlatan played for two years between 2010-2012, winning the Scudetto and the Italian Super Cup before move to PSG for €21 million. So far Zlatan has made 9 appearances scoring 3 goals and assisting one.

🎙️ Ismaël Bennacer told RMC Sport

"Zlatan ? It’s the first time I have played with such a great champion. His presence is incredible. Even if he sometimes takes advantage of it… if I pass him the ball and he’ll make a mistake, it’s my fault." 😂 TeamMilanAC on Twitter

Breaking News:Matías Zaracho has given his consent to join Milan in the summer. Racing's request is a negotiable €25M while Milan value him considerably lower, around €15M. Offers from Spain should arrive for him soon as well but he would like to play for Milan

Paolo Maldini’s time as AC Milan’s technical director could be set to end after just 12 months, according to a report.

Maldini was appointed in the role just one year ago by owners Elliott Management after having initially held more of consultancy position.

As Calciomercato.com reporter Daniele Longo notes though, it is a marriage that could end soon. Maldini has been angered by the choice of the ownership to contact Ralf Rangnick without consulting with him and his right-hand man Zvonomir Boban.

The differences with CEO Ivan Gazidis and his collaborators are manifesting themselves at present and risk leading to an irremediable fracture.

Maldini would like to focus on elements ready to accelerate the reconstruction process, which is directly against the youth-oriented policy that the former Arsenal chief wishes to deploy.

Maldini has already given an interview during which he claimed Rangnick is not the right fit for Milan and insisted that the club are happy with the work that head coach Stefano Pioli is doing.

Maldini spoke to Sky Italia after the game against Fiorentina, and revealed that there are indeed ‘different visions’ at the club.

“There is only one Milan, there may be problems and different visions,” he said.

“But it is normal in a club and we all want the same thing. As for Rangnick, I have never contacted him and according to my vision he is not suitable for Milan,” he said.

Matias Zaracho is more than an idea for Milan. The Argentine trequartista has been on the Rossoneri's radar for quite some time now, and meetings with his agent have already taken place in the last few months, although for different objectives.
As our reporter Fabrizio Romano states , Milan like him so much that they tried to close a deal already in January, ultimately failing to find an agreement with Racing. However, the negotiations don't end there, far from it in fact.
Zaracho can play on the wing, as a trequartista and in a midfield role. Therefore, the Rossoneri are keen on bringing him in, also because he has performed very well for his club as of late.
The player, in fact, has already said yes to the Milan project.
Now, Zvone Boban and Paolo Maldini will have to reach an agreement with Racing in the summer. The latter are asking for €25m, a demand that is negotiable, while Milan are willing to offer around €15m. Of course, Zaracho's consent will give them an extra push.

Asmir Begovic might have to step up as Gianluigi Donnarumma seems likely to sit out of Milan’s match against Genoa on Sunday.

Multiple reports in Italy claim that the Azzurri star is still in pain after suffering an injury in a challenge with Federico Chiesa during the last match against Fiorentina.

The reports suggest that Stefano Pioli will not be ready to risk the shot-stopper in fear of another setback, as the young Rossoneri keeper still struggles to overcome the problem.

It is seen as a precaution ahead of an important return leg against Juventus in the Coppa Italia, where the two giants are locked at 1-1 after the match in Milan.

This means that the former Bournemouth goalkeeper Begovic should get his first start for the club, after coming on for his debut to replace Donnarumma against the Viola.

In addition to the 26th round of Serie A, the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg between Juventus and AC Milan could also be played behind closed doors, following the recent Coronavirus outbreak. Of course, it's not an ideal situation for the parties involved.

As reported by La Stampa (via IlBianconero.com), the current restriction period could be extended as more Coronavirus cases are being confirmed by the day. Just like Juventus-Inter, therefore, the Coppa Italia game could be played behind closed doors.

Of course, the authorities are constantly monitoring the situation and if anything were to change, then it will surely have an effect on their decisions for the upcoming football games in the country. For now, though, the priority remains public health.

Although these two games are of great magnitude, and attract a lot of spectators, it's better to keep the public safety rather than taking risks with the Coronavirus.

AC Milan could launch a move for winger Willian, a report claims, who seems unlikely to sign a new deal with Chelsea at present.

Despite the fact we are only just past the January transfer window, attentions have already turned to the summer market and in particular those players who have contracts expiring in June and are therefore available on a free transfer.

According to a report from MilanLive, Milan could take a look at the signing of Willian, an important player under Frank Lampard this season but one who Chelsea do not seem willing to meet the demands of regarding a new contract.

The Brazilian spoke during an interview with Esporte Interativo outlining his plans for the future.

“Chelsea offered me a two-year contract but I would like to sign one for three seasons,” he said.

“The club does not seem willing to change its proposal and finding an agreement could be difficult. My goal now is to try to do the best in these months and to help the team.”

The roads therefore seem destined to separate and Willian looks set to leave Stamford Bridge after seven years and over 200 appearances.
Juventus and Barcelona are also credited with interest but as of now they have not yet sank the blow.

With CEO Ivan Gazidis now open to the acquisition of experience – as evidenced by the offer to renew Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the plan to sign Simon Kjaer permanently – it could well be that the Rossoneri make an attempt for the 31-year-old.

Willian has five goals and four assists in 33 appearances across the Premier League and Champions League this season so far.

Former AC Milan transfer target Emil Forsberg is now available for half of what Red Bull Leipzig wanted in the past.

In the summer of 2017, when the Chinese took control of AC Milan, Emil Forsberg was one Mirabelli’s top transfer targets. Despite the many attempts of the Rossoneri, Red Bull Leipzig refused to let the Swedish star leave no matter the price. Three years latter the situation has changed and Forsberg can finally leave Leipzig and Germany.

The 28-year-old left winger has long been willing to embark on a new adventure and in the past has not hidden his desire to play in Serie A. Red Bull Leipzig is literally surprising everyone both in the Bundesliga and in Europe but Forsberg has lost over time the central role he has always had.

Forsberg this season, not really a protagonist as in the past, has managed to score 9 goals and record 4 assists in 24 appearances. Not a bad tally at all. The player is still a wanted man on the market with Premier League keeping tabs on his situation, especially Tottenham and Manchester United.

AC Milan too have rekindled their interest in Emil Forsberg after learning that the left winger is available for €20 million reports SportBild. Half of what the German club wanted for his services in 2017 and half of what Eintracht Frankfurt want for Ante Rebic. The Croatian is currently the only natural left winger on Stefano Pioli’s side.

At that time his agent accused Leipzig of crushing Emil’s dream by blocking his transfer to Milan: “Leipzig must live with the knowledge that they are destroying his dreams”. A move to Italy is still on the cards for Forsberg who at Milan this time could reteam with his former national teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Milan legend Marco van Basten thought he would “last forever”, revealed his poor impression of Arrigo Sacchi and how Zlatan Ibrahimovic “provoked” him.

The Dutch 55-year-old is registered with 90 goals in 147 Serie A matches and picked up the Capocannoniere title three times during his stint in Milan, where he won the Scudetto three times and helped them to the European Cup twice.

The former hero had to retire at the age of 31, when his ankle forced him to stop playing, and the Rossoneri phenomenon claimed that it was a hard blow to admit it was over.

“In Milan I felt like I was part of the family,” he told Corriere della Sera. “We lived a whole life together. You saw me get born, as a player and a man. You saw me grow up.

“Unfortunately, you also had to witness my end. I was convinced that I could last forever. I told my teammates that I would stop at 38 years old.

“At first, I didn’t understand. I was too focused on feeling bad. I wondered why it was me who had to suffer. I never got an answer.”

Arrigo Sacchi was the coach that brough the two mentioned European Cups to San Siro and one of the League titles, but Van Basten reveals that he wasn’t fond of his personality.

“There was never a personal relationship between me and him,” he added. “He never gave me the impression of being honest in his human relationships.

“When he wasn’t happy with how we trained, he took it out on the younger players, on the weaker ones.”

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has returned to San Siro this winter and Van Basten admitted that the former Sweden international had “provoked” him during his stint as coach of Ajax.

“I went back to Ajax as a coach and there was one boy who provoked me,” Van Basten said. “You are Van Basten, he said and passed me the ball, show me what you can do.

“Because of my ankle, I couldn’t anymore. Who the boy was? I’m sure you know him. He was called Zlatan, his surname is Ibrahimovic.”
