There are reports in Chile that Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal wants a return to Italy, but would prefer Juventus to Antonio Conte’s Inter.

The 33-year-old is one of the players on the market this summer and, as his contract only runs to June 2021, is in negotiations to terminate his contract early by mutual consent.

Conte made no secret of his desire to sign the Chile international last season and it’s believed the reason Inter backed out of their deal for Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali is that he preferred Vidal.

However, Chilean newspaper La Cuarta claim they spoke to a member of Vidal’s entourage, who told them the player is more tempted by Juventus than Inter.

Not only would it be a return to Turin, but he’d be working with former teammate Andrea Pirlo, who is now the Bianconeri coach.

He’d also get the chance to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and believes he has a better chance of winning the Champions League at Juve than Inter.

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has insisted he is back where he feels ‘at home’ as his renewal was virtually confirmed by the club.

After what seemed like an endless saga, numerous reports emerged on Friday claiming Milan had finally reached an agreement with the Swede over a new one-year contract.

This has now seemingly been confirmed by the club who broadcast the 38-year-old’s arrival at Milan Linate airport via their official app.

He also spoke upon his landing, with his statements transcribed by MilanNews.

“I am very happy to be back here. Finally everything is ok and I am finally back where I feel at home, now we have to work and bring results,” he said.

“I am not here to be a mascot, I am here to bring results and help the team, the coach and the club to get Milan back to where they need to be. In the last six months we have done well but we have not won anything. There is the possibility of starting, working hard, making sacrifices to reach the goals.

“I’m fine, in shape. A message for the Milan fans? I hope to see the fans soon at the stadium. The team needs the fans, we blow up the Milan fans. Forza Milan, always.”

He’s here. #IZBACK

Real Madrid will loan a future star in Brahim Diaz to Milan, but, thankfully, he can come right back to the Santiago Bernabeu.
There are two types of players who will leave Real Madrid in the summer 2020 transfer window. The first group of players are veterans who are no longer key to Zinedine Zidane’s plans, such as Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez. They carry high salaries and will ideally be sold.

Brahim Diaz falls into the second group of players. These are young, rising stars who can be great players for Los Blancos one day, but they need playing time in 2020-2021 and wouldn’t get enough of it at Real. So, they must either be loaned or have a percentage of their rights sold. Takefusa Kubo has already been loaned to Villarreal, and Oscar Rodriguez has officially joined Sevilla.

Real Madrid have been trying to loan Brahim Diaz for the past two transfer windows. Heading into 2019-2020, they knew Brahim wouldn’t be able to get much playing time at forward, and he ended up playing a mere 60 minutes in six La Liga appearances off the bench.Brahim worked hard and impressed Zinedine Zidane with his desire, but he only had a lone Copa del Rey goal to show for his efforts.

Los Blancos knew they had to loan out Brahim for the 2020-2021 season, and they have decided to send him to Milan.

Brahim Diaz could blossom at Milan
The Serie A club used to be one of European football’s giants, even near the level of Madrid. But they have fallen on hard times since and must ascend. They saw Brahim as a young forward who could help them in the coming years, asking Los Blancos for an option to buy.

Thankfully, Real Madrid refused, so Milan had to settle on a. one-year loan deal for the impressive 21-year-old, who will join Ante Rebic in the new-look Rossoneri attack.

This loan agreement had to take place, because Brahim needs to be a starter in 2020-2021 at this stage of his development. He’s ready to take on that responsibility, whereas at Real, he would have been behind players like Rodrygo Goes, Vinicius Junior, and Marco Asensio.

At Milan, Brahim can be a star, primed to return to Los Blancos one year later. It was crucial for Real to avoid placing an option to buy in the deal for Milan, because the Serie A club could have signed the two-footed forward at an absolute bargain price.

Milan purchasing Brahim would have been disastrous for Real Madrid
Imagine a scenario where Brahim was Milan’s best player and Serie A’s breakout star in 2020-2021, leading Milan to the cusp of a Champions League qualification. And then Milan purchased him at the end of the loan for 20 million euros.

Disaster for Real Madrid, right? A lot worse than losing Theo Hernandez at left back, since Brahim would have been a sure-fire piece of the puzzle for Los Merengues under that scenario.

📰Daniele Longo: Gerard Deulofeu sends more signals to AC Milan. He is pushing for a return to the Rossoneri. Maldini didn't close the door for the Spanish winger's comeback, but he explained to the player's agent that he could only make the deal under certain conditions. https://t.co/fvTFhdRasN

Juventus are now looking at the hugely unlikely scenario of organising some very daring financial deals and sponsorships that could see Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo playing together for the first time," Balague wrote for BBC Sport.

📰Mediaset: Elliott gave the green light to sign Tonali. Maldini and Massara are ready to snatch Breascia's talent.
To close the negotiation, the deal could be a €10M loan + obligation to buy set at €25M paid next year. https://t.co/ifIKHg5ehK

Gazzetta: Pirlo wants to alternate between 3-4-1-2 and 4-3-1-2. He sees Dzeko as the ideal partner to Ronaldo and CR7 has given his approval. Dzeko's role would be director of the attack - fill the area, open the space, give assists and let Dybala play closer to the goal.

Hakan Calhanoglu is destined to stay at Milan. The Turkish international, who was one of the best players in Serie A in the post-lockdown period, is ready to start the renewal talks with the Rossoneri.

According to Calciomercato.com’s Daniele Longo, Gordon Stipic is set to arrive in Italy in the coming days. The agent, who represents Calhanoglu, will discuss the renewal of the 26-year-old with the aim to reach an agreement.

Milan are ready to put a three-year renewal on the table, and since his current deal will expire in 2021, that would make it valid until 2024. It remains to be seen how much he will, though it’s certain that a pay rise will be involved.

Calhanoglu managed to register 11 goals and 9 assists to his name this past season, flourishing in a new role in the post-lockdown period. Hopefully, he can build on his good form this upcoming season as it would help Milan a lot.

Andre Silva has reportedly agreed personal terms to join Eintracht Frankfurt on a permanent basis, which could be a straight swap with Ante Rebic to Milan.

The Portuguese striker exchanged places with Rebic in two-year loan deals without an option to buy last summer.

According to German newspaper Bild, Andre Silva has agreed personal terms for an extended contract with the Bundesliga outfit.

Rebic had already done the same with the Rossoneri, so now the two clubs need to work out the transfer valuation of the two players.

It is likely to be a straight swap with no money exchanging hands.

Andre Silva scored 16 goals in 37 competitive games for Eintracht last season, while Rebic found the net 12 times in 30 matches.

Sandro Tonali to AC Milan, confirmed and it’s a done deal: here we go! Agreement reached for a loan with buy option from Brescia. Personal terms agreed today. Inter are out of the race after having an agreement with Tonali since April. 🔴⚫️ @SkySport @DiMarzio @PeppeDiSte #Milan

📰Daniele Longo: The numbers in the Tonali deal:
€10M loan.
€10M in bonuses.
€15M buy-option.
10% on a future resale.

It is now reported Milan have agreed every detail of the transfer for Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali, on loan with option to buy for a total €30m.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Fabrizio Romano and others, the deal was reached this evening between director of sport Paolo Maldini and Brescia President Massimo Cellino.

It’ll be a loan for €10m, with option to buy for another €20m including various bonuses.

That is less than the €35m in total that Inter had negotiated back in April.

Milannews.it maintain Brescia will also get a percentage of a future sale, reported to be 10-15 per cent.

According to Calciomercato.com, it's €10m for the loan, €15m option to buy, €10m in bonuses and 10 per cent of a future sale.

Inter had a deal for Tonali months ago, but decided to pull out of the agreement so they could focus on other players requested by Antonio Conte, such as Arturo Vidal and N’Golo Kante.

Brescia had wanted the option to buy to be considered an obligation, but Milan negotiated it down.

Tonali will sign a five-year contract worth an initial €2m per season and join the club he supported since childhood.

AC Milan risk not facing the easiest path in their road to qualification for the Europa League group stages.

After finishing sixth in the Serie A table last season Milan will have to enter the second qualifying round, which will pair the Rossoneri with a team of much lower ranking, but as MilanLive notes the risk is a long and difficult away trip in September.

Milan have a 50% chance of being drawn at home, but could also face teams such as Neftci (Azerbaijan), B36 (Far Oer), Kaisar (Kazakhstan) or Bodo/Glimt (Norway) in what would be a long trip.

There are of course teams from neighbouring countries such as Albania, Slovenia or Switzerland which are much more comfortable.

Then, MilanNews note how because of the victories of APOEL, Malmo, Partizan and Steaua Bucaresti in the first qualifying round, there are sixteen clubs with a higher UEFA ranking than Milan.

On Monday there will be draw for the second round, while on Tuesday there will be the third, where the Rossoneri will be seeded. For Milan to be seeded in the final round (the Play-Off round), at least four teams with higher rankings than them must be knocked out.

There are only 13 seeded teams in the Play-Off round, which is why Milan risk being in the unseeded section. Four of the following teams must lose in order for Milan to be seeded:

Tottenham Hotspur, Basel, CP, Copenhagen, Wolfsburg, APOEL, BATE Borisov, Galatasaray, Malmö, Partizan, Standard Liège, Steaua Bucaresti, Granada.

Sandro Tonali seems set for a move to Milan, but Sky Sport Italia claims he must renew with Brescia first.

The broadcaster points out that Brescia patron Massimo Cellino has agreed to let Tonali leave on loan with an option to buy next summer.

But the Italy international’s contract with Brescia expires in June 2022 and the Rondinelle President doesn’t want any complications next summer.

The report says Cellino will only accept a loan deal with an option to buy if Tonali extends his current deal at the Mario Rigamonti.

If Milan fail to trigger the option to buy the player next summer, Cellino wants to avoid a scenario where Tonali returns to the club with only one year left on his deal.
