Manchester United are not interested in signing AC Milan playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu despite his agent offering his client to the Red Devils.

Reliable German journalist Christian Falk claimed on Friday that Man Utd are in ‘concrete negotiations’ for the 26-year-old, whose contract with Milan will expire in 2021.

However, The Athletic are now reporting that the agent of Calhanoglu – Gordon Stipic – actually placed a call to United’s chief transfer negotiator Matt Judge to try and find his client some new accommodation ahead of next summer.

Despite this, the Premier League side are not keen on the Turkey international even on a free transfer, most likely because they have made a big splash recently on the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Donny van De Beek.

Number 10 is therefore a position that United are not interested in strengthening any further, hence why they have chosen not to hold any discussions with Stipic about a move for Calhanoglu, who has scored 27 goals and amassed 40 assists in 138 games since joining Bayer Leverkusen three years ago.

"I think there is a lot of work to do, a lot,” Juric told Sky Sport after Verona’s 3-1 win over Benevento.

“Today we did very well the first 25 minutes, then it was more difficult.

“There is so much work to do but with this spirit we overturned the game. We won, but it was really hard.”

Antonin Barak was the man of the match with two goals.

“Both him and [Nikola] Kalinic are important players but they have to find the best condition.

“We have so many players out and it is not easy to work with so many new players.

"[Mattia] Zaccagni has made a step forward in the last two games. He provided an assist against Juventus and the same today.

“He is improving, he must continue like this. He can still improve but there is a year of work behind."

The Gialloblu have reached Inter, Roma and Napoli in the Serie A table and are due to face Milan next week.

"They have a project. You see, they are doing very well.

“Credit to [Stefano] Pioli but we go there with our spirit, trying to do the best. We will make our game trying to improve and gain points.”

Simon Kjaer says Milan ‘have done nothing yet’ and reveals how Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been helping the Rossoneri.
The Danish defender spoke at a press conference ahead of Thursday’s Europa League clash against his former club Lille.
“The time I was in Lille was important for me, after a period in Germany. It was a beautiful time, my first child was born when I was in France.

“I had a great time there, I improved up a lot in two years. We had a very strong team.
“Now the team has changed completely, but the players of Lille are always strong and they are really well organized as a club. It’s always a pleasure to play against them.”
Stefano Pioli is rotating his players but Kjaer is one of those who are always on the pitch.
“I prefer to play. I feel better when I’m on the pitch than when I stay outside,” the experienced centre-back said.
“I’m glad that physically we’re all fine. We haven’t done anything yet, though.
“I’m not here on vacation, I’m doing my best every day to help the team. I never had any doubts about my qualities, but I know there is a lot of work behind it.
"We’ve improved in both phases since I arrived.”
Are the players talking about the Scudetto?
“It’s been a fantastic journey. We’ve improved so much. We have so many qualities everywhere. This is a young team, with huge potential. We are happy where we are, but we do not talk about what will be in 6 months.”
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has had a great start of the season with eight goals in seven games so far.
"Everyone at Milan feels his [Ibrahimovic’s] presence. Zlatan is a very serious and professional person who brings so much to everyone.
“He has only one goal, which is to win. We all go in that direction, we’ve grown so much in terms of mentality.”

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli has drawn up a plan regarding the next few games and the process of juggling two different competitions, a report claims.

Milan do not have much time to enjoy their victory against Udinese on Sunday as tomorrow evening they will face yet another challenge in Ligue 1’s second-placed side Lille.

As Tuttosport (via MilanNews) explains this morning, it is a crucial match for Milan in their groups stage campaign, as a win against Lille would lift them at least five points clear of the third-placed side with three games to go.

That would mean that for about three and a half months Milan would be able to focus almost exclusively on the Serie A season given the next round of the Europa League is not until late in February, even though there will be no room for complacency.

The three remaining matches in Europe would be honoured with the utmost commitment, the paper claims, but they will also be used an opportunity for Pioli to give space to those who need game time such as Matteo Gabbia, Leo Duarte, Andrea Conti and Mateo Musacchio among others.

Fabrizio Romano claims Milan star’s agent is ‘talking with many clubs’ in update on Man Utd interest

By Oliver Fisher - 4 November 2020, 15:40

The agent of AC Milan playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu is in talks with a number of different clubs over his client, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Calhanoglu has shown his importance to Milan since lockdown earlier in the year becoming a key component of Stefano Pioli’s 4-2-3-1 system, operating as the playmaker. He already has four goals in nine games this season across all competitions and has recently returned from an ankle injury.

However, Milan are sweating about his contract situation given that his current deal is set to expire in June 2021 and a number of different sources are reporting that Calhanoglu’s agent Gordon Stipic is demanding the doubling of his client’s salary at the very least, if not more.

According to what Fabrizio Romano has told his Here We Go Podcast (via Twitter), Calhanoglu’s agents “are talking with many clubs” at the current moment.

However, he also added a comment about reports that Manchester United are one of the club who are serious about landing him, adding: “There is nothing advanced with Manchester United as of now”.

The agent of Sassuolo star Manuel Locatelli – Stefano Castelnovo – holds no grudges with AC Milan for letting his client leave.

Locatelli joined Milan from Atalanta’s academy system in 2009 as an 11-year-old, and spent nine years at the club prior to leaving in summer 2018, but his exit came after he exploded onto the scene by scoring a couple of memorable goals including a winner against Juventus at San Siro.

Since moving to the Sassuolo he has established himself as a key member of the starting XI, particularly under current boss De Zerbi. He left San Siro to join the Neroverdi on a paid loan deal with an obligation to purchase the Primavera product outright, an option they ended up exercising.

Now, several outlets are reporting that he is a target for clubs like Napoli and Juventus but his price tag is expected to be quite high given the fact he has not yet even turned 23.

Castelnovo spoke to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli about his client’s departure from Milan, with his comments transcribed by MilanLive.

“When the player was at Milan he did not perform as he is doing now, De Zerbi has always believed that the player he was strong but at the same time he needed the right environment, at Sassuolo he had time to develop his characteristics, but at Milan you don’t have time and you have to be ready,” he said.

🎙️De Sciglio, former Milan players spoke to GdS: "AC Milan's youth project is beautiful. It's important to rely on top players with experience like Ibra. He's the example, and he provides the right advice for players to improve." https://t.co/LPbQPSVfox

📰Gazzetta: Tonali is the king of the cup. But, that is not enough for him, he wants to convince in Serie A as well.
He is a starter in Europa League, but Tonali aims to put Pioli in difficulty and find more playing space in the Serie A league.

GdS: Real asks at least €25M for the sale of Diaz to Milan. The Rossoneri wants to keep the player. A renewal of the loan could be the solution.
