AC Milan have held talks with Chelsea over the future of Fikayo Tomori whose loan spell at the club will soon expire, a report claims.

Tomori joined in January on a loan until the end of the season with a €28m option to buy inserted as part of the deal, and given his fantastic performances which helped the Rossoneri achieve a second-placed finish and a return to the Champions League, many presume that his permanent purchase will be a mere formality.

According to the latest from Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan’s priority is indeed the purchase of Tomori and talks with Chelsea are continuous, but without too much room for maneuver. This morning, the Milan management spoke with the English club who reiterated their firm desire not to give discount on the option to buy figure.

Milan’s intention is also to keep the defender but they will have to make ends meet to conclude the operation, which is proceeding. Chelsea are waiting and if Tomori’s sale to Milan does not take place, they will call the player back to the base with offers having already arrived from other Premier League clubs.
