📰 @NicoSchira: #ACMilan have asked info for #Salernitana’s forward Boulaye #Dia. His new agent Vadim Vasilyev is in a very good relationship with Geoffrey Moncada since when they worked together at ASMonaco.

🚨🌗| For Milan's attack, the usual Morata and Scamacca are the first options. One of the second options is Boulaye Dia. He has a a release clause of €25M but the price could go down with the inclusion of Daniel Maldini or Lorenzo Colombo in the deal. @Gazzetta_it 🇸🇳

After AC Milan sacked Paolo Maldini as Technical Director and his son Daniel on loan with Spezia, it is the first time since 1978 that there is no Maldini family member at the club!

Charles De Ketelaere had a first season to forget at AC Milan and he could leave this summer but remain in Serie A, according to a report.

According to Libero (via MilanLive), Atalanta have not been put off by the poor debut season that De Ketelaere had after his €35m arrival from Club Brugge and are thinking about an attempt to sign him.

Head coach Gian Piero Gasperini is a bid admirer of the Belgian and their plan is to ask Milan for a loan deal perhaps with an option to buy or at least a verbal agreement to discuss a permanent deal.

Atalanta usually play with a 3-4-2-1 as a basic formation, giving great freedom to the two attacking midfielders behind the striker. This could be a better fit for De Ketelaere compared to the 4-2-3-1 where he has not yet really found a role yet.

Gasperini is known for developing young talents too and therefore the 22-year-old would be guaranteed a level of playing time that the Rossoneri might not be able to.

AC Milan had not been linked with a right-back in the last few weeks but in the past day or so Ivan Fresneda’s name has been appearing with increasing insistence.

According to a report from Sportitalia, Milan are keeping Fresneda’s situation monitored. The Real Valladolid full-back is liked by several other teams in Serie A and LaLiga, and therefore there is no shortage of competition.

The card that the Rossoneri intend to play in their favour is the excellent relationship between chief scout Geoffrey Moncada and Fali Ramadani’s agency who look after the interests of the Spaniard.

Milan will soon officially announce the signing of Luka Romero on a free transfer after the end of his contract with Lazio, and he is part of Ramadani’s agency which means there was likely some overlap in talks.

Fresneda is under contract until June 2025, and the release clause in his contract could favour the assault of the interested clubs, a list in which Milan are rapidly climbing the hierarchies.

News continues to filter through regarding changes that AC Milan are making to their staff ahead of next season, according to reports.

According to Sky (via MilanNews), Angelo Carbone has left his role as the manager of the youth sector but he is not the only key figure who has departed in what is a bit of a shake-up ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.

The Rossoneri also said goodbye to Flavio Roma, a former Milan player and the current goalkeeping coach. MilanNews confirm the departure of Roma, adding that it was a choice due to other non-football reasons rather than him being pushed out.

Emiliano Betti was also part of the goalkeeping staff but he will leave too, while Gigi Ragno will remain because he is held in very high esteem by the club and by Stefano Pioli.

Ragno was the creator – together with the other coaches of course – of the great improvements made by Gianluigi Donnarumma and then by Mike Maignan.

He will be the point of reference for Maignan, Marco Sportiello and Antonio Mirante in what is a promotion. The figure who will support him in his daily work at Milanello will soon be formalised.

The signing of Ruben Loftus-Cheek is one that adds a bit of variety to AC Milan’s midfield, one that needs to be reshaped amid the imminent sale of Sandro Tonali.

Calciomercato.com write how Milan’s latest signing has the approval of the legendary head coach Arrigo Sacchi, who said: “He’s a physically strong player and has international experience.”

Milan have invested €20m when factoring the fixed part and the bonuses to sign him from Chelsea, with the Englishman signing a four-year contract, and now everyone is eagerly awaiting the first glimpses in preseason.

Loftus-Cheek will be the sixth English player in the history of Milan, as Fikayo Tomori reunites with his compatriot. He joins a midfield which currently has only Tommaso Pobega and Rade Krunic as fit options.

That is because Ismael Bennacer is out until next year after knee surgery, Tonali is one step away from Newcastle and Yacine Adli is not considered part of the plans. Aster Vranckx and Tiemoue Bakayoko’s loan deals have ended.

Loftus-Cheek can play in all positions in midfield. He can play in the two in front of the defence, but also as a mezzala in a three-man midfield. If it ever came to it, he could play as a No.10 or wide right in a four-man midfield.

He has never scored so many goals with just 10 goals and 12 assists in 10 years in the Premier League. However, he doesn’t lack experience nor does he lack physique at 191cm tall and 83kg in weight.

AC Milan will commence their mission to sign Samuel Chukwueze from Villarreal tomorrow, a report claims, with the winger a major target.

Calciomercato.com report that Chukwueze is seen as the perfect profile by the Milan management to raise the quality level on the right wing because of his pace, dribbling and his eye for goal.

There have already been details finalised regarding the terms of the Nigeria international’s contract with Milan in terms of the salary he would earn and the duration of the potential deal.

However, Chukwueze has a strong bond with Villarreal and he has no intention of forcing his hand, but has already pointed out to the LaLiga club that a possible transfer to Milan would be one he would welcome.

Villarreal do not need to sell. They have already sold Pau Torres to Aston Villa and want €30m for Chukwueze despite him having only one year left on his contract.

Milan want to start from a base of €20m and bonuses will be the key. The first official contacts between the clubs are expected in the next 24-48 hours.

AC Milan have not disregarded the idea of signing Davide Frattesi from Sassuolo and a counterpart could be useful in the negotiations, a report claims.

According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below), Milan would ‘have to proceed at speed on a winding road’ if they are to win the race for Frattesi because Inter are in pole position and have been for some time.

However, the operation they are trying to complete to bring the funds to sign Frattesi with – namely the sale of Marcelo Brozovic to Saudi Arabia – has not been completed yet despite the fact it was meant to be a done deal.

Milan are not giving up and will try a possible acceleration during the next week. If a meeting with Sassuolo takes place, the Rossoneri could try to insert Tommaso Pobega in the deal, as a partial counterpart.

Frattesi’s valuation is in fact considered too high by Milan, who are aiming for a discount. The bottom line is that the management want at least two more midfield signings after Loftus-Cheek.

Wilfried Singo is waiting to hear about developments regarding the two Milanese clubs who have put the Torino defender in their sights, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com reports that a mercato merry-go-round could well be in full swing. Raoul Bellanova has joined Torino from Inter and will reinforce the right flank, but that impacts the situation of Singo who the Nerazzurri want.

His contract at Torino expires in a year and therefore the risk of losing him for free will alarm their management. Inter and Milan are keen on the Ivorian, who has seven goals and nine assists in almost 100 league appearances.

There are no direct talks with either side yet, the report adds. Milan tried to bet on Sergino Dest who has returned to Barcelona after a disappointing season on loan, while talks over personal terms with Ivan Fresneda of Real Valladolid are at an advanced stage.

However, the right-back role is not a priority for Milan at present though it could become one once other objectives like the midfield, right wing and striker positions are ticked off.

Juve might yet rekindle the interest they had a year ago but Singo, for now, awaits developments from both sides of the Naviglio.

With Brahim Diaz’s loan deal done and Sandro Tonali’s sale to Newcastle United is imminent, AC Milan are exploring options to reshape their midfield.

Today’s edition of Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) reports that Milan have Lazar Samardzic of Udinese high on their list of targets who could come in and play either the No.10 position or as a box-to-box player in the event of a switch to a 4-3-3.

However, they face competition from close to home. Inter have carried out an enquiry with Udinese for the 21-year-old as they too begin to think about restructuring their midfield following the departure of Marcelo Brozovic.

Milan have been after the Serbia international for longer and even tried to take sign in 2020 when he began to shine with Hertha BSC, and Udinese would like around €20m to sell him.

It is a figure that Inter could easily cover with the sale of Brozovic, but also Milan with part of the money earned for Tonali.

Something that may go under the radar is the movement that happens in the Primavera and the various coaching sectors this summer, and AC Milan are making changes.

According to what is being reported by Sky (via MilanNews), Milan have decided to part ways with Angelo Carbone who has been the manager of the youth sector for four years, having started the role in 2019.

The Rossoneri leadership have decided not to extend his contract as the overhaul of the management continues following Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara’s sackings.

To replace him, the target is Enzo Vergine of Roma who is one of the most highly regarded in the country given the amount of players who have come through the Giallorossi academy.

He has been the academy manager of Roma since 2021 so has only been in the role for two years, but Milan could make an attempt to lure him north.

It cannot be ruled out that Simon Kjaer renews his contract with AC Milan and retires as a player while at the club, a report claims.

MilanNews describes the Kjaer and Milan relationship as a ‘love story since 2020 that could last several more years’. He arrived during a difficult 2019-20 campaign along with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and has therefore been a part of the resurgence.

In the coming season the Dane will play for a starting spot together with Malick Thiaw, Pierre Kalulu and Fikayo Tomori. It will not be easy to earn one though, especially after the sudden rise of the young German centre-back.

However, Kjaer will still be a fundamental element of the Rossoneri rearguard despite the fact that he is 34 years of age. He is one of the remaining pillars of the team and his desire is to retire at Milan, as he confirmed before the Euroderby.

“This is where I want to end, it’s the club where I’ve always dreamed of retiring. So I hope to retire here too, but not anytime soon,” he said.

The management will also talk about the future with the former Roma man shortly and the hypothesis of renewal for Kjaer cannot be ruled out. His current contract will expire in a year, and he could get another one-year deal.
