Gremio star Everton has given his green light to an AC Milan move but everything has been halted by Financial Fair Play, a report claims.

The Rossoneri have been strongly linked with a move for the Brazilian sensation this summer, as Leonardo seems determined to sign a winger ahead of next season.

Now, il Corriere della Sera claims that Everton has given his ‘yes’ to Leonardo and Milan, but there are obstacles in the way of completing the deal.

The paper claims that, for the second consecutive year, the Diavolo are awaiting the ruling from UEFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne.

It was announced on Wednesday that European football’s governing body has launched a fresh investigation into Milan due to breaches in Financial Fair Play in recent years.

That, in addition to the insecurity about which European competition Milan will be in next season, complicates the mercato.

*AC Milan, Gattuso and Leonardo in disagreement over Paqueta: the details*

The relationship between the current AC Milan coach, Gennaro Gattuso, and the club's technical director, Leonardo, has never been one of the most idyllic ones.

At the beginning of the season when Elliott arrived as the new owner of the club, the instinct of the Brazilian director towards a change on the bench was limited by the lack of time and alternatives as well as by an excellent relationship of the coach with the team and fans.

And yet, despite an improved relationship thanks to the inclusion of Paolo Maldini in the management, the difference of opinions between Gattuso and Leonardo have never really disappeared and even today, with Milan playing for its future, there are important reasons for friction between the two.

One of these is also Lucas Paqueta. The youngster arrived in January thanks to a great intuition of Leonardo on the Brazilian market. Paqueta immediately imposed himself among the technical leaders of the team, so much so that Gattuso had no problem inserting him immediately among the starters in his 4-3-3.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Leonardo thinks that Paqueta does not show his best as in the midfield trio and should be moved upwards closer to the strikers in a 4-3-1-2 which would expose his technical skills.

For Gattuso, on the other hand, the two wingers (Calhanoglu and Suso) are fundamental to the tactical balance of the team. DIfferences, not the first nor the only ones, that will inevitably lead to a separation at the end of the season.

According to https://t.co/pUaEJFhFIp the leaders of Milan are divided on the account of coach Gennaro Gattuso, between those who would prefer to sack him away immediately and those who instead intend to keep him in his place until the end of the season.

After hours of reflection, Milan have decided to continue with Gattuso until the end of the season, as it was difficult to find a suitable replacement with only 4 league games left. However, Gattuso will almost certainly leave at the end of the season.

“Gattuso takes on the responsibilities he doesn’t have, for me he has a mediocre squad.
Among the current players, no one would have played in my time at Milan.
The club must aim to win"

Antonio CASSANO speaking to TikiTaka about the negative moment of Gattuso's team.

Conti will undergo further examinations in the coming hours.

According to @lucaserafini4, Conte’s first choice is Milan and that it depends on the club knowing that he is an expensive hire and would demand quality reinforcements

There will be a heated few days in Casa Milan, between the now almost nuanced Champions goal, the choice of the next coach and the professional shortcomings of some players; Leonardo and Maldini, with a view to the next season, will have a lot to work on.
LEO NOT IN DISCUSSION – In this regard, according to what our editorial staff has learned, Leonardo’s future is not in question with Elliott, who does not intend to replace him for next season.
The current technical director therefore has the task of leading the transfer market in conjunction with the figure of Ivan Gazidis, who will always have the last word.
GATTUSO WILL BE CHANGED – After two years, between Primavera and Prima Squadra, the future of Gennaro Gattuso will no longer be the Rossoneri.
In fact, Elliott have decided not to continue with the former technician from Pisa and Palermo. Gattuso will not be forgiven for leaving the Europa League and, lastly, the probable lack of qualification in the Champions League culminating in a general collapse to which the Rossoneri coach has failed to remedy.
MILAN’S CONTE DILEMMA – Milan doesn’t want to make mistakes anymore. For this reason, the next coach will be chosen after a careful and careful analysis.
The name that makes the Rossoneri fans dream could only be that of Antonio Conte, with whom the leaders of the Via Aldo Rossi club have already had their first talks. The former Chelsea coach these days has split between Turin, London and Puglia, where he spent his holidays.
On the table the former Juve coach also has the proposal of Roma, on which he is reflecting. To Conte, Milan could offer about €7-8million per year and a wide-ranging project, with powers on the transfer market, a fundamental and primary aspect that the former coach of the national team wants to have.
However, Elliott’s eyes are also directed towards London, where however the future of Maurizio Sarri no longer seems to be in question. Third name, and no less interesting, is that of Mauricio Pochettino – who is admired by Ivan Gazidis.
However, the Argentine coach, who receives about £6.5million-a-year, has not shown any particular suffering at Spurs that could affect his future at the club.

Repubblica: PSV boss Van Bommel becomes latest to be linked with AC Milan job
By Oliver Fisher - May 2, 2019

Current PSV Eindhoven boss Mark van Bommel is one of the names being considered to replace Gennaro Gattuso at AC Milan, a report claims.

Gattuso’s future with the Rossoneri has come under intense scrutiny in recent weeks after a run of just five points from the last eight Serie A games, which has seen the team drop to seventh in the table.

The likes of Maurizio Sarri, Mauricio Pochettino and Gian Piero Gasperini have all been linked with taking the job this summer, while we learned on Thursday that an offer is being prepared for Antonio Conte.

However, La Repubblica claim that former Milan player Van Bommel is the latest name being considered as Gattuso’s potential replacement.

The Dutchman joined just after the team won its last Scudetto in 2011 and is currently head coach at PSV, who are second in the Eredivisie (level on points with leaders Ajax) heading into the final two games.

He would become the latest former Milan player to take the reins at the club after the likes of Clarence Seedorf, Filippo Inzaghi and Gattuso – and it could be argued none have worked out thus far.

Agent of Bakayoko claims car problems caused midfielder to be late
By Oliver Fisher - May 2, 2019

AC Milan midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko was only late to training on Wednesday due to a problems with his car, his agent claims.

Widespread reports on Wednesday claimed that the Milan squad have been sent to a five-day training retreat after loanee Bakayoko showed up an hour late for training.

He was only able to train with the team for the final 10 minutes of the training session, and Gennaro Gattuso was left fuming with both his tardiness and the attitude of some of the other players.

However, a report from Calciomercato.com aims to provide an explanation as to why the Frenchman was not able to make training on time.

They claim to have been told by Bakayoko’s entourage that ‘issues with his car’ was the main factor for him being late.

The player ‘had no petrol in his car on the ring road before taking the highway that was supposed to take him to Milanello’, something which was apparently ‘down to the lack of habit of using that car to get to training’.

Atalanta CEO addresses rumours Gasperini could replace Gattuso at Milan
By Fred Ilondo - May 1, 2019

It has recently been claimed by the media across Italy that Gian Piero Gasperini could take Gennaro Gattuso’s job this summer as AC Milan’s coach.

Gasperini has been impressive this season with Atalanta, displaying an incredible football style and currently sitting in 4th place ahead of Roma, Torino, Milan and Lazio.

The Rossoneri on the other hand have been sinking since February, collecting a total of 5 points out of a possible 21.

It is obvious why Gattuso’s job is at risk and why Milan would want to move on someone who is proving to have better ideas with a less impressive team.

However, Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi, denied the rumor of a potential move for the Italian tactician to Milan.

“Gasperini to Milan? I agree with what the president said.” Percassi told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Gasperini is staying here, he is doing an extraordinary job.”

Though, this is far from being decisive in the situation, it would be interesting to see how il Diavolo reacts depending on where they stand on the table at the end of the season.
