Alessandro Jacobone of Radio Rossonera and Sportitalia:
“[Rangnick] has been watching AC Milan games on TV for 3 months and after every game writing a report.

“He’s already working to figure out who to keep and who to sell in the summer. He can’t come now. He will be coming at the end of the season.

“He is doing an Italian course with two private lessons a week to arrive prepared and master of the situation even at the lexical level.”

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not happy with the attitude and decisions of Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis, left alone at the stadium yesterday.

There were some signals, during the match with Genoa, that are very scary. First of all, some reactions from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who despite being the best among the Rossoneri, seemed a little subdued. And with him, the rest of the team lacked the aggression inside the penalty area that had been in the games prior to the period of emergency. And this is a very important aspect because if Ibra’s motivation gets low. he brings the whole team down with him.

According to Il Corriere della Sera, there are certain players who are not happy with the situation that has arisen, especially following the sacking of Zvonimir Boban. One of all is Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the real leader of AC Milan today.

Corriere della Sera reports about high tension between Ibrahimovic and Ivan Gazidis manifested yesterday in a team meeting, before the match with Genoa. The Swedish striker in particular is not happy with the position taken by the former Arsenal executive, given the excellent relationship he had with Boban and Maldini, his main references at the club.

Furthermore, Ibrahimovic is nervous about the alleged lack of consideration received. The 38-year-old striker expected a private meeting with Gazidis, perhaps also to talk about his contract renewal until 2021.

All this did not happen and Ibrahimovic yesterday demonstrate his bad mood in private and during the match. One thing seems certain: if Gazidis will lead Milan’s next technical project, it will likely have to be without Ibrahimovic.

Ralf Rangnick could be set for his imminent arrival at AC Milan but with Stefano Pioli keeping his job as coach of the Rossoneri.

The chaos that has plagued AC Milan management and the sacking of Zvoinimir Boban is having a toll on the squad. In a match played behind closed doors, due to safety concerns, Milan were clearly the inferior team and lost 1-2 to Genoa.

Still, other issues besides the pitch continue to grab headlines. The image of Ivan Gazidis standing alone at the San Siro was emblematic. The absence of Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara is perhaps a signal that the two will soon follow Boban.

But if Maldini decides to leave Milan before the end of the season he inadvertently would be accelerating the arrival of Ralf Rangnick. In that case, Rangnick would terminate his contract with Red Bull Leipzig and take the role of sporting director at Milan reports MilanNews.it.

Thus the German would have a lot of time to prepare for next season and plan the summer shopping campaign in advance. In any scenario, Stefano Pioli will remain the head coach until the end of the season when Rangnick will take over also the coaching role.

Interviewed by Sport 1, Rangnick commented the rumors about an agreement with Milan since December as “absolutely not true” but he refused to say whether he would become the new coach of AC Milan.

Just as all the speculation regarding a takeover bid had gone quiet, a sensational revelation from TV station 7Gold has arrived.

Despite the persistent denials that have officially come from the spokespeople of Bernard Arnault and his company LVMH (Louis Vuitton), there are those who are still convinced that Elliott Management are ready to sell to the Frenchman.

According to 7Gold ‘expert’ Fabio Santini (via MilanLive), Elliott have practically already sold to Arnault, who has a big project in mind for the future of the Rossoneri.

He claims that Arnault has put an offer on the table deemed satisfactory by Elliott and the Singer family, who are therefore ready to sell Milan after about two years of ownership.

The French tycoon’s project would be ‘sensational’: immediate investments on the market and the pursuit of top-level player. There are those who even whisper the name of Leo Messi who could leave Barcelona after 16 years.

Gianluigi Donnarumma will also be an integral part of the project. The goalkeeper could receive a tempting proposal for the renewal of the contract, so as to arm him and consider him a pillar moving forward.

We reported in January via sources from our correspondent Vito Angele that Arnault is closing in on the €1billion acquisition of the club, regardless of the various denials in the media which are likely linked to a Non-Disclosure Agreement.

AC Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis has held talks with Ralf Rangnick over a role at the club without ever submitting an actual offer, a report claims.

Multiple outlets have reported that the German will take over from both Stefano Pioli and Ricky Massara, ensuing a role unprecedented in Italian football as a head coach and sporting director in one.

However, on Wednesday another twist arrived. According to what Sky in Germany are reporting, Rangnick ‘will not switch to Milan for the time being’ and ‘a possible deal is unlikely to come about’.

They claim that there was a general agreement between the former RB Leipzig boss and Milan, however he is now unlikely to accept the role despite reporters suggesting the contrary.
Now, Italian news outlet ANSA – as cited by
MilanNews – have offered their take on the situation.

They claim that there have been ‘exploratory contacts’ between Rangnick and Ivan Gazidis in the past few months, but that no formal offer has ever been submitted to the current Red Bull Head of Footbal

Alessandro Nesta
A proven world class defender when he joined Milan from Lazio in 2002, Nesta's career went from strength to strength upon arriving at the San Siro.

He joined the club for a fee of around €30 million as Lazio were in financial difficulty and were forced to sell their players.

Not that Milan minded that is, Nesta played in 48 matches in his first season which culminated in winning the Champions League at Old Trafford against domestic rivals Juventus on penalties in the 2003 final.

The following season and Nesta had added another a second Serie A winners medal to his collection with Milan finishing eleven points clear of Roma at the top of the table.

This was the second time Nesta had been in a team that won the Scudetto, the first was during his tenure with Lazio in 2000.

The defender was part of the Italian team that won the World Cup in 2006 before once again lifting the Champions League for the second time with Milan the following year.

He also won the Scudetto once again with the Rossoneri in 2011 before leaving to join Canadian side, Montreal Impact.

In his ten years with Milan, Nesta made over 320 appearances and formed arguably the greatest centre back partnership in the world with compatriot, Paolo Maldini.

AC Milan transfer target Kristoffer Ajer confirms he will not renew his contract with Celtic and will leave in the summer.

Last summer and in the January transfer window, Celtic found itself forced to repel the assaults of several top clubs, including AC Milan and Tottenham, for the 21-year-old central defender Kristoffer Ajer.

Revamped attempts are expected in June, but this time the Celtic may have no other choice but to comply with the requests of the player. Ajer wants to make a qualitative leap in his career and play in one of the Europe’s top leagues.

Kristoffer Ajer’s agent Tore Pedersen confirmed that the Norwegian wonderkid will leave Celtic in the summer.

“He will not renew his contract with Celtic and in the summer he will be sold. I don’t want to mention names but we there are many clubs interested in Ajer, some of which have been following him for some time“, said Pedersen in an interview with Scandinavian broadcaster ‘NTB‘.

AC Milan are one of the most interested clubs in Ajer. The Rossoneri have been following him for the past year and view Kristoffer as Musacchio’s replacement. The talented centre back is one of the best players in the Scottish Premiership and despite his year age he has over 200 appearances to his name,

Club medical staff and the Players Association have joined to threaten a strike if clubs pressure them into resuming training too early into the Coronavirus pandemic.

There have been reports of a clash in the Lega Serie A conference call between Lazio President Claudio Lotito and Juventus patron Andrea Agnelli on how long training should be interrupted.

A joint statement was released by Serie A chief medical staff today, warning they would be prepared to take action if necessary.

“Considering the serious evolution of the COVID-19 infection around the world, the emerging spread of contagion within football and its staff, Serie A medics express their strong concern about protecting the health of club employees should training and other group assemblies be resumed soon.

“Therefore, unanimously, the medics advise that we do not resume training until a clear improvement of the emergency situation.”
We have already seen nine Serie A players at Juventus, Sampdoria and Fiorentina test positive for Coronavirus, along with some members of their staff.

Lazio medic Doctor Ivo Pulcini told Radio Radio that they decided to halt everything until March 21.

“Some colleagues will find themselves on Monday facing owners of clubs who absolutely want to resume training. This is very worrying when it comes to protecting everyone’s health.
“If training were to resume, we have threatened unanimously to resign as medical staff for our clubs.”

The Italian Players’ Association (AIC) have also released a statement after apparent pressure to get back to training next week.
“Despite the indication from the Prime Minister with urgent measures to contain the contagion, we are sad and indignant to see yet again some clubs are behaving unwisely and out of any national or international advice, continuing to call players to take part in training in small groups or, worse still, travel to have their temperature checked daily.

“If clubs in Italy call players in just to have them tested for a fever or not, forcing them to leave their homes, interact with people and different places just for something that could be easily communicated over the phone, it is a shamefully irresponsible act.

“If clubs call players in, they have to explain what national interest there is in keeping athletes in top condition when it’s predicted they won’t resume playing until at least mid-April! This means they are living on another planet.

“If, finally, the call is made to force players who refuse to have their pay docked, then we really are scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to dignity.

“To sum up, in Italy there are still some football clubs who are either shamefully irresponsible, live on Mars, or are missing even the slightest morsel of dignity.”

Serie A football is shut down in Italy until at least April 3, but that was only ever a placemark date.

Leonardo, the sporting director of Paris Saint-Germain, doesn’t seem willing to extend Thiago Silva’s contract for one more season. Therefore, unless there is a huge turnaround, the defender will leave in the summer.

According to reports from French outlet Le10Sport, Leonardo has already started looking at potential replacements, failing to reach an agreement with Thiago Silva on the salary demands. In other words, there is an opening for Milan.

The Rossoneri have previously been linked with their former player, who would arrive on a free transfer. As highlighted by Milanlive.it, however, the corporate situation of the club doesn’t exactly help, not knowing who will be in charge next season.

This will most likely be a big problem in any pursuit of Thiago Silva, as clubs generally need to act early in order to secure soon-to-be free agents. In other words, the ball is in Milan’s court, now it’s up to them to decide.
