*Rangnick seeks a face to face meeting with Gazidis to understand how the Milan project can be developed. In early June, if all goes well, Rangnick and Gazidis will meet and decide definitively whether to go ahead or not*

*In the meeting Rangnick will reiterate his desire to take over as a manager-director of the team. He wants to return to coaching and at the same time have authority in the transfer market. That’s why there would be no future for Maldini, Massara and Pioli at Milan if he arrives*

Inter are looking to agree personal terms with reported AC Milan target Sandro Tonali, it is claimed, but there is still an obstacle in their way.

The Rossoneri have been repeatedly linked with a move for Tonali as they look for a long-term partner for Ismael Bennacer in the engine room of the midfield.

However, the latest from Calciomercato claims that Inter have offered Tonali a five-year contract worth €2m per season plus bonuses, but it is also mentioned that they have not yet agreed on a deal with Brescia.

The Lombardia club are apparently demanding €50m+ and are not interested in a player exchange deal, while Juventus and Milan are specifically mentioned as being interested.

The report adds that Inter could table a €40m loan with an obligation to buy deal with bonuses to sweeten the deal, but it remains to be seen if that is an acceptable formula for La Leonesa

AC Milan are closing in on the signing of Paris Saint-Germain starlet Tanguy Kouassi on a free transfer, according to a report.

Sunday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport confirmed the Rossoneri’s interest in the 17-year-old Frenchman, whose contract expires in the summer with no signs that he is set to renew.

However, they added that Milan are not along in their pursuit of Kouassi, as the paper added that RB Leipzig and Manchester City appear to be ahead of the competition at the moment.

The latest from TMW claims that Milan and Kouassi are ‘moving forward’ in talks, and that the defender has been in the sights of Rossoneri scouts for some time.

RB Leipzig are mentioned as also having an interest, but the report once again reiterates that the idea of working with Ralf Rangnick at Milan seems to be becoming an increasingly likely possibility, with the situation described as a ‘work in progress’ for the Diavolo.

The 2019-2020 season could end with the a play-off style system, a report claims, which is not preferable to Federal President Gravina but could end up being the most practical option.

According to SportMediaset (via MilanLive), there are two possible systems on the table if that becomes a possibility.

The first hypothesis is a divided play-off system, in which there would be one set for the Scudetto – in which the top four of the current standings would participate (Juventus, Lazio, Inter and Atalanta) – a set for the Europa League (including Milan) and the bottom six in a relegation play-off (Brescia, SPAL, Lecce, Genoa, Sampdoria and Torino).

The second option instead uses a sort of grid system based on the current standings. Teams currently between 13th and 20th would fight not to get relegated, then there would be a Coppa Italia style system for the rest of the teams, with the top four entering from the final 8 onwards.

Juventus have made a bid to sign AC Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli offering Daniele Rugani in exchange plus cash.

Juventus are on the hunt for reinforcements in defence. With Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci close to the end of their careers, the Bianconeri are already working to find a long-term partner for Matthijs De Ligt in the heart of the defence.
Alessio Romagnoli is one of the top options that sporting director Paratici is considering. It is no secret that Juventus are big admirers of the AC Milan captain. In the past few years Juve made another attempt for the 25-year-old centre back but the desire of Alessio Romagnoli was to stay at Milan.
According to the latest rumors, Paratici would have offered Daniele Rugani in exchange for Romagnoli plus an unknown figure in cash. AC Milan will hardly accept such an offer.
Rugani is a good defender but certainly not at the level of Alessio Romagnoli. Once a promising player, Rugani has failed to impose himself at Juventus. If Milan were to really considered selling their captain that would be for a cash-only figure of at least €50 million.
In any case, the renewal of the defender also risks becoming a soap opera shortly, just like for Donnarumma. The current deal of the Italy international expires in June 2022. There is time to negotiate, but not too much. However Romagnoli, as a true captain, is very close to Red and Black colors and in the past has rejected inquiries from other European top clubs.
The Rossoneri purchased Alessio Romagnoli in 2015 from Roma for a hefty figure of €25 million as a precise request of coach Sinisa Mihajlovic. In his five season at San Siro the former Roma centre back has made more than 180 appearances with AC Milan scoring 7 goals along the wa

Ralf Rangnick one step away from Milan, a report claims, as all the recent speculation has turned into concrete facts.

According to the latest from SportMediaset (via
MilanLive), everything is ready for the final agreement between Milan and the German, who in the next few days will fly directly to London to talk in first person with Gordon Singer, one of the major exponents of Elliott Management.

Singer will put a formal contract offer on the plate to make Rangnick the next Milan manager, a three-year deal worth a total of €6million.

Apart from this, other points will also be discussed. Rangnick will have to review the request to bring 18 collaborators with him across the technical area and management.
Elliott are pushing for the promotion of two members of current management, namely chief scout Geoffrey Moncada and Gazidis’ right-hand man Henrik Almstadt.

Franco Baresi and Daniele Massaro – two symbols of the old and historic Milan – will also enter the picture with roles closer to the team .
Everything is ok regarding the project: there is harmony on the idea of building a young team with a bright future, something which would not exclude the renewal of Zlatan Ibrahimovic .
Ibra can remain, even in Rangnick’s plans, as long as the Swede accepts the role of mentor. In addition, there is €100m ready for the summer window

The protocol for Serie A matches during the COVID-19 pandemic is being finalised, including rules on catering, media, placing substitutes in the stands and banning protests to the referee.

Although the medical protocol for group training was agreed this week, a more complex version still has to be set in stone for games to be played from June 13 or 20.

According to the draft printed in Il Tempo newspaper, it is 36 pages long and covers every conceivable detail.

Naturally, mascots and handshakes are banned, so is the group photograph before kick-off.

Players are ordered not to protest with the referee or go within 1.5 metres of the official at any time.

Catering can only be done by the club’s own chef, while social distancing can be guaranteed on the bench by moving some substitutes into the stands.

Warm-ups will try to involve social distancing, letting them jog and exercise in separate areas of the pitch.

Even the media will be restricted from entering the stadium, first having to fill in a questionnaire about symptoms and undergoing a temperature test.
