Silvio Berlusconi for Telelombardia:

Maldini? If someone was a good player, that doesn't mean he'll be a great activist. It is not easy to adapt to a new role and a new reality. I love Paolo very much, as do his father and his son.

Daniel Maldini? I think Daniel can become an interesting player of the young generation in Milan. Will he ever join Monza? I hope that he will become a great player in the future.

Whom do I love more? My heart belongs 50% to Milan and 50% to Monza. If there is a match between these teams then I think it will be similar and I probably won't put on any scarf (laugh).

A heated confrontation took place between Ibra and Gazidis, today in Milanello

After the disagreement that took place before Milan-Genoa, when Gazidis had explained to the team the reasons for the dismissal of Zvonimir Boban, another face to face was staged between the two this afternoon. Ibra, along with Romagnoli, Bonaventura and Begovic, was part of the team delegation who spoke with Gazidis about all the themes that had already emerged during the day. Zlatan has shown many doubts and doubts about the work of the club management, making it clear that he did not like it and that he has doubts about the project and also about the timing of his arrival at Milanello. Gazidis replied, calmly but decisively, to all the questions that were asked by the Swede and not only giving rise to a civil confrontation, but with different points of view. Gazidis also promised to visit the sports center more often during the season. The feeling is that Ibrahimovic's future, at the end of the season, will be far from Milanello and Milan.

AC Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis addressed the squad regarding the rumours surrounding Ralf Rangnick’s possible arrival, it is claimed.

We reported on Wednesday night that there was a heated confrontation between Ibrahimovic and Gazidis at Milanello, with the latter having stepped foot onto the training ground for the first time in three months.

His meeting did not go entirely as planned though as the former Arsenal chief ended up clashing with Zlatan Ibrahimovic – the 38-year-old criticising Gazidis for being too distant.

According to the latest from La Gazzetta dello Sport (as cited by MilanNews), Gazidis the players pointed out how destabilising the rumours are regarding the future of Stefano Pioli and the possible arrival of Ralf Rangnick.

The CEO’s response was to ask the players to ignore them and he told them that before the end of the season the club will not make decisions on the matter.

The paper adds (via MilanLive) that Milan’s technical director Paolo Maldini was absent due to commitments previously made. This is the official version at least, but it cannot be excluded that the reasons are different, especially given all the rumours regarding tension with Gazidis and that he could leave at the end of the season.

Paris Saint-Germain are hopeful of agreeing a deal for Milan left-back Theo Hernandez soon, reports Onda Cero.

PSG have been linked with Hernandez throughout the coronavirus lockdown, and the Spanish radio station claims ‘everything seems to indicate’ towards a summer transfer.

The 22-year-old would take the place of Lavyin Kurzawa, who has been offered to several European clubs including Inter and Juventus.

Although Leonardo had returned to Parc des Princes by the time Theo signed for Milan last summer, the former Rossoneri sporting director is described as being a big fan of the player.

However, Onda Cero acknowledges the Diavolo are in no mood to offer discounts for their prized asset, tying in with the line run by Calciomercato.com.

PSG have already spent €50m on buying Mauro Icardi from Inter, which could make a similar outlay for the

Calhanoglu blasts VAR for role in Milan’s cup exit vs. Juventus: “We are quite angry”.

AC Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has voiced his frustration about the Video Assistant Referee decisions that went against Milan in their cup exit to Juventus.
Milan emerged from Turin empty handed despite a battling performance against Juventus, who reached the Coppa Italia final on away goals after a 0-0 draw on the night.
The major drama came in the 17th minute when Cristiano Ronaldo saw a penalty well saved by Donnarumma, before Ante Rebic saw straight red within seconds for a dangerous high boot.
Milan battled incredibly hard against a man advantage and had their half-chances, but ultimately it would be Juventus who progressed on away goals.
Calhanoglu spoke to Rai Sport after the game and did not hide his displeasure at some of the decisions that went against Milan.
“We are quite angry, because if the referee checked VAR for Ronaldo’s penalty, he then had to check it for the Rebic red card.
“We’re cross, but we played well and we were only missing the goal,” the Turkey international said (via MilanNews).
“Over the two legs, it’s difficult to say who deserved to go through. I think if we had Zlatan, Samu and Theo here, we’d be stronger. It’s natural the games with Juve are tough, but they were very even.
“Thinking back to my chance, I could’ve tried with the head or the foot, I went for it with my head.”
On whether Milan improved a man down: “It’s difficult to say why we did better down to 10 men. We really wanted to win and gave everything we had. Now we look forward to the next test.
“Empty stadium? It’s naturally a very different experience, but these are the rules, we have to stick to them.”

AC Milan failed to knock out Juventus from the Coppa Italia last night, eventually losing on the away goal that the Bianconeri scored at San Siro months ago. However, there are some positives to draw from the game.

It was far from an easy game for the Rossoneri, especially because they were forced to play most of it with just ten men, following Ante Rebic’s sending off. Just seconds before the incident, Cristiano Ronaldo missed a penalty for the home side.

Initially, it looked like a miss from the Portuguese star, hitting the inside of the post. According to MilanNews.it, however, Donnarumma has been awarded the penalty save as he managed to get a slight but decisive touch on the ball.

The youngster has now made three penalty saves this season, per Transfermarkt, also saving the ones of Federico Chiesa and Khouma Babacar. Sadly, his save last night ended up in the shadow of Rebic’s reckless red card.

For Giacomo Bonaventura, yesterday’s clash against Juventus was very important. He wanted to leave Milan, after six years, with the sweet memory of the second national trophy during his time at the club.

According to Calciomercato.com, that’s why he was angrier than most of his teammates after the final whistle. He went straight to the locker room without saying a word, visibly upset with the outcome of the game.

In the 4-2-3-1 fielded by Stefano Pioli, Bonaventura had the delicate task of supporting Rebic and defending against Miralem Pjanic. Although he struggled at first, he threatened Juventus with his quality in the first minutes of the second half.

Therefore, it came as a shock to him, as well as the fans, when the manager decided to replace him with Rafael Leao. In retrospect, Lucas Paqueta should have been replaced instead.

When leaving the pitch, Bonaventura was far from happy, mumbling something on his way out before exchanging a few words with Pioli. He wanted to have his say until the end, convinced that he could create problems for Ronaldo and his teammates.

Ralf Rangnick has drawn up a list of targets ahead of becoming the new manager of AC Milan, according to the latest reports.

There continues to be widespread speculation suggesting that the German will soon sign a deal which will see him take on an omnipotent role with the Rossoneri and lead the club on its latest revolution.

According to SportMediaset (via MilanNews), Rangnick and Elliott Management Corporation – the club’s owners – have agreed on a list of seven players who are considered unsellable, but there have also been some targets identified.

One of them is Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Tanguy Kouassi who would be available on a free transfer, while Nikola Milenkovic of Fiorentina is the other target for that position, who could be part of a possible exchange with Lucas Paquetá.

For the midfield the names are Florentino Luis of Benfica and Dominik Szoboszlai of Salzburg. In attack meanwhile the hottest name remains that of Luka Jovic of Real Madrid, and the goal is to recreate the Jovic-Rebic pairing that was so deadly in Germany

AC Milan and Everton have discovered the asking price of summer target Memphis Depay, according to a report.

The Rossoneri have been persistently linked with a move for the Netherlands international as they look to add attacking firepower ahead of the probable arrival of Ralf Rangnick as the club’s new manager.

MilanNews claimed earlier on Sunday that ‘very authoritative sources’ have confirmed Milan are following the situation of Depay closely. There is a lot of competition – including from other clubs in Italy – but the fact his deal expires in 2021 means a deal could be done cheaper than before.

According to Calciomercato.com, Depay will not renew his contract and the French club has taken note of the player’s will.

However, they do not intend to make any discounts and will demand €30million for their star forward in the upcoming transfer window, with Milan and Everton the two sides most interested at present.
