*Major journalists are conflicting on the size of AC Milan's summer mercato: Will it be 2-4 or 5-7 additions?*

Gianluca di Marzio via MilanNews is reporting that AC Milan fans should not expect a big mercato in contrast to earlier reports from other outlets. He believes the club will just make small tweaks. He said:

“Milan starts from a base that allowed Pioli’s team to score more points than everyone else after the lockdown. On the market, according to them, a lot wont be done, but they will do a little something.”

Vito Angele as we reported here claimed it would be a busy summer with 6-7 arrivals.

Matteo Calcagni of MilanNews is reporting that Milan will be going for a 'sustainable’ approach to the summer transfer window as they look to avoid overspending. He notes that Milan will look to raise and save money through sales and trimming excessive wages. He notes that Milan will look to invest is a centre back, right back, midfielder and winger. He notes that the incoming money will be key to investment in the market.

*Tuttosport: Milan flop Laxalt could return to Genoa but there is one obstacle*

Ahead of the season, Milan will be looking to part ways with two left-backs, namely Ricardo Rodriguez and Diego Laxalt. The former is just one step away from Torino, while the latter is still far from being sold.

According to Tuttosport, as cited by MilanNews, Genoa are interested in the Uruguayan and could decide to make a move for their former player. The interest of Lokomotiv Moscow is also well-known at this point.

The Rossoneri would like a figure close to €10m, and while this remains the main issue for the Russian side, the Rossoblu are more concerned about the salary. Laxalt currently earns €1.5m, which is considered excessive.

At Milan, Laxalt has failed to show his qualities and it’s about time he leaves, frankly speaking. The loan to Torino, albeit interrupted, was another failure and a return to Genoa now seems like the right solution to salvage his career.

AC Milan are not giving up in their pursuit of Lokomotiv Moscow star Aleksey Miranchuk and are readying a fresh attempt to sign him.

That is according to Monday’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive), which reports that head coach Stefano Pioli intends to continue with the 4-2-3-1 system and is looking for a versatile player who can be a rotation option across the three behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Miranchuk is currently on a contract which expires in 2021 and wants to try a new experience, especially in Serie A. A few weeks ago a possible swap with Diego Laxalt was discussed, but Lokomotiv have made it clear that they will only accept cash.

The deal could close between €10-15m and the paper adds that Paolo Maldini will make a new attempt, but will have to be careful of interest from Atalanta, who may have to replace Josip Ilicic.

💰 Over the last five years, #ACMilan have spent €620.3m on 53 new signings, at an average of €15.9m per player. Only Juventus and Inter spent more in Serie A.

AC Milan have no intention of loaning young forward Daniel Maldini out, a report claims, at least until the January window.

According to Calciomercato.com, Daniel wants to continue the story with the Rossoneri that his father Paolo and grandfather Cesare have written for more than 40 years.

The teenager is trying to learn from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and is studying how to make his mark at Milan in the coming years, while the club have a clear stance: they will not loan Daniel Maldini out this summer as they wish to keep him in and around the senior squad.

Several clubs – both in Serie A and Serie B – have made offers for Maldini, guaranteeing him more playing time than Milan can offer him.

Above all, Silvio’s Berlusconi’s Monza have made concrete attempts in recent weeks to sign the Primavera product as they secured promotion to the second tier.

However, Stefano Pioli also wants to have Daniel in the squad at least until January, so he can grow at Milanello and can hopefully steal some secrets from Ante Rebic and his other team-mates.

🎙️Pioli on the transfer market:"Milan do not need many new additions, just a few reinforcements in the right positions. I'm sure that the Club will be able to find the solutions. I'm in contact with Gazidis, Maldini and Massara. Together we will do our most to improve the team.” https://t.co/4FLyudL0lp

According to @Gazzetta_it Torino asked Milan for Andrea Conti.
The Rossoneri club for the moment, has locked in the right back. Management reiterated their confidence in the former Atalanta during a summit held in recent days with his agent Giuffredi.

Asmir Begovic could return to Milan after the 7 months loan in which he convinced the Rossoneri staff.
@tuttosport reports, the Bournemouth-owned Bosnian goalkeeper has been singled out as Donnarumma's deputy.

🎙️Pippo Inzaghi:" We have all seen what Ibrahimovic has given to AC Milan. I hope that he stays with the Rossoneri. I hope he'd be available for Pioli right from the beginning of the season, because Zlatan can still give a lot." https://t.co/Q9nB2h88jg

🎙️Pioli spoke to Skrill:" Zlatan is a top professional. He teaches young players, he is a touchstone for his teammates and is very respectful of roles. His secret is his desire to win and to always improve.” https://t.co/bKg2rvl7gb

AC Milan have made a bid to sign Trabzonspor playmaker Abdulkadir Omur, according to a report from Turkey.
According to what is being reported by ajansspor.com and Fotomac, Milan have presented an official offer for Omur worth €20million, in two instalments of €10m each, plus a percentage on a future resale of 10%.

The Trabzonspor president, however, has already turned down an offer of €23million from Benfica for the 21-year-old, who played in 21 matches for Trabzonspor last season, amassing 3 assists and 4 goals.
The player’s agent George Gardi told TMW: “He doesn’t only play football. He draws and shapes it. He’s got a bright career ahead of him, and he’s been one of the hottest names for Italian clubs for a couple summers by now.
“I can’t name names, but there was even someone who flew to Italy, in order to tie the knot, last summer. He’s only 21, and he’s already a Turkish football icon. You have to keep in mind we are talking about someone who, in the long term, might be what legends such as Baggio, Del Piero, Totti, are for the Italian scene.
“And, as Trabzonspor chairman reminded, he’s a symbol of the club. Atalanta? I can’t spell out which are the ongoing individual negotiations. There are clubs pursuing Omur, we’ll see what happens.”
Omur is currently under contract with the Super Lig outfit until June 2022 and has been linked with a move to Premier League champions Liverpool in the past.
