AC Milan signed Diogo Dalot from Manchester United in the summer and are looking at the Premier League club for reinfircements in midfield.

AC Milan in January will also try to sign a new central midfielder. The Rossoneri are looking an opportunity for the present and for the future. The Diavolo is unlikely to sign a player that can only be useful for six months.

At Manchester United, Donny van de Beek is going thought a tough period. The 23-year-old Dutch midfielder is struggling to adapt in the Premier League and in the last five games he has played only 29 minutes (10 against Sheffield and 19 with Leeds).

Pippo Inzaghi admits facing Milan will always be ‘special’ for him, but the Benevento coach isn’t fooled by big stars missing for the Rossoneri.

“This feels a bit like the game against Lazio, when I was up against my brother Simone,” confessed Inzaghi in his press conference.


“It was a tough experience on a human level, but also a very emotional one, difficult to describe. Everyone knows how much I love Milan and I think that sentiment is mutual with the Rossoneri fans. As we say in these situations, we’ll be rivals for 90 minutes and after that I can get back to being the Number One Milan Fan.

“I told the players to relish these opportunities, because a year ago we were in Serie B and now we’re facing the Serie A leaders, eager to achieve another coup after taking points off Lazio and Juventus.”

Theo Hernandez is suspended, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Alexis Saelemaekers, Ismael Bennacer and Matteo Gabbia still out injured.

“Milan are unbeaten since May, so that means they have a great coach and a squad capable of pushing through despite missing key players,” continued Pippo.

“If we read the names of the possible substitutes, we can hardly call this an advantage. In theory, we have very little chance of a positive result and it’s one of the toughest fixtures we’ll face this season.”

Benevento are coming off back-to-back victories over Genoa and Udinese, but Luca Caldirola and Christian Maggio are out of action.

Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has confirmed that AC Milan are looking to complete a double swoop on the French market.

With the transfer window set to open on Monday, the vast majority of sources are reporting that Milan’s targets for the market are now clear: to sign a defender and a midfielder.

It seems that Mohamed Simakan of Strasbourg is the first name on the list as far as the defence is concerned, as the Rossoneri almost signed him in October and have now gone back in for him.


Meanwhile, there are also now a number of sources claiming that the midfielder could also arrive from France, more precisely from Toulouse where teenager Kouadio Koné continues to dazzle.

According to the latest from Gianluca Di Marzio on Twitter, Simakan is the primary objective as has been reported for days, but the resistance of Strasbourg must be won over. The same applies to Toulouse for Kone: Milan want them, their respective clubs are not giving up at the moment.
