AC Milan have a number of players present on the list of those who have seen their market value increase during the year of 2020.

For the Rossoneri, the last year has marked the start of a real upturn in fortunes as they began it trying to get into the top half and ended it on top of the table and 26 games unbeaten in Serie A.

That is of course in large part down to the resurgence of several key names, and Calciomercato.com have compiled the top 10 of those who – as per Transfermarkt – have seen their values rocket.

Tied for 10th place is Franck Kessie who – along with Romelu Lukaku – has seen his worth go up by €15m. In eighth place is Hakan Calhanoglu: the market value of the Milan attacking midfielder has grown by €17million over the last year, and he is now worth €35m.

In third is Ismael Bennacer, as the Algerian midfielder has grown by €23million and is now worth €40m. In second is Theo Hernandez, with the Frenchman having seen his market value doubled from €25m to €50m.

Other names on the list include Roma duo Marash Kumbulla and Ibanez, as well as Bastoni of Inter, Osimhen of Napoli and Locatelli of Sassuolo.

Kessie discusses Scudetto fight with Inter as he declares: “We are here to achieve results”

AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie is not expecting an easy game this afternoon as the Rossoneri take on Benevento.
Milan face a particularly tricky task on Sunday evening against a team that they are yet to beat in Italy’s top flight. Theo Hernandez is suspended while Matteo Gabbia, Ismael Bennacer, Alexis Saelemaekers and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are injured for the first game of 2021.
Milan head to Benevento knowing that a win will see them keep top spot in the Serie A table, but with Inter beating Crotone it means it has to be three points or they will lose it.
It will be an anything but comfortable game against a side managed by club legend Pippo Inzaghi and one who have recovered from an early season slump.
Kessie spoke to Sky Italia before the game at the Stadio Ciro Vigorito, with his words transcribed by MilanNews.
On the Scudetto fight with Inter: “We think about ourselves and our game which won’t be easy. There is no easy game. We have to fight today to get a result.”
On the numerous absences: “There are a lot of players missing but we are here to achieve results. We have to play for those who are not with us and fight for them.”
On the new year: “2020 was a perfect year for us, as the coach said, but we haven’t won any trophies. We don’t have to go to the past but to the present and the future and give our best.

🎙️ Massara spoke to Sky about Simakan: "We are checking if there are opportunities in the mercato, if there will be, the club will be ready. For Simakan there are no developments" https://t.co/zci2w8QiPa

🎙️ Massara: "Calhanoglu and Donnarumma's contract renewals? There are no significant news."

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ismael Bennacer, Matteo Gabbia and Alexis Saelemaekers continue to train separately ahead of Milan’s clash with Juventus.

The Rossoneri face the reigning champions on Wednesday and Ibrahimovic has been ruled out against the Bianconeri, as he is targeting a return against Cagliari on January 18.

The Swede continues to train individually to recover from the injury he suffered against Napoli in November.

Bennacer is still injured and had to continue to work individually today, joined by Gabbia and Saelemaekers.

The midweek match against Juventus is scheduled on Wednesday at 19.45 UK time and the Rossoneri must cope without suspended Sandro Tonali too.
