AC Milan is looking to reinforce the squad in view of January’s transfer market window and there are two profiles to look at from France.

The Rossoneri continues to negotiate on two fronts: Mohamed Simakan of Strasbourg. Milan has the advantage over RB Leipzig.

The player already promised to join the Rossoneri and Maldini is preparing an offer of €15 million plus €3 million in bonus. RC Strasbourg, however wants €20 million.
As for Kouadio Konè‘s situation: Borussia Mönchengladbach has entered the race.

The Bundesliga club approached the demands of Toulouse. But the player gave the go-ahead for AC Milan. Now, it is up to him as he will have to decide his destination, according to Vito Angelè.

Big competition between Milan and RB Leipzig for Mohamed Simakan. The two clubs are almost in agreement with Strasbourg and should quickly make an offer. The player will then have to make his choice. Liverpool are also following the situation

"As I have always said this is not an individual award but the fruit of the work of the whole team.
I’m grateful to be part of this group.

In an interview with MilanTV after the game, as cited by MilanNews, Calabria was asked about the game and what it was like playing in the new role. He assured that Milan have no intention of giving up.

On the defeat: “We lost a game after I don’t know how long. They are strong, we knew that. We had many absences and in the subs, it was felt. We played our game, we kept our identity. I’m happy with the goal but I would have preferred to win, let’s continue on our way.”

What Pioli told the team: “We will talk calmly tomorrow, he told us to keep calm. Tomorrow we will see what we did wrong and on Saturday there is another match.”

On the role: “I’m at the coach’s disposal. It takes intelligence and discipline, I think I have this and that I also can adapt to midfield. I’m happy with what we have done as a team, let’s turn the page and focus on Torino.

“The coach showed me how to move this morning. He gave me the task of limiting Ramsey and Ronaldo, he told me to stay between the lines, leaving Franck a little lower. It wasn’t easy, I’m proud of the team.”

On Saturday’s clash: “If it’s good we play so soon? Absolutely yes, we want to continue doing what we have done. The season is still long.”

Stefano Pioli insists Milan proved they are Scudetto contenders in tonight’s 3-1 defeat to Juventus ‘in these circumstances.’

The Rossoneri saw their 27-round Serie A unbeaten run come to an end, as this was their first defeat since the lockdown started in March 2020.

However, they remain top of the table, because Inter were also beaten 2-1 by Sampdoria earlier this afternoon.

“We have to tip our hats and give credit to our opponents for managing to get back in front,” Pioli told Sky Sport Italia.

“We did what we needed to, created chances and inevitably allowed some too, but after going behind for the second time, it became more difficult to get back into it.

“We’ll evaluate a few defensive situations where we could’ve done better, but the team approached this game with generosity, determination and concentration.

“Their goalkeeper made a great save on Diogo Dalot when it was 1-1, then they went 2-1 up and it became an uphill struggle.”

It was perhaps inevitable Milan would struggle this evening, as they were without Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ismael Bennacer, Sandro Tonali, Alexis Saelemaekers, Matteo Gabbia, then Ante Rebic and Rade Krunic were diagnosed with COVID-19 this morning.

Davide Calabria had to move from right-back to a new midfield role to fill the gaps.

“Many teams would struggle missing that many players, but although we had to change things, we tried to maintain our identity and I think we did that,” continued the coach.

“It was a very even game up until the second Juventus goal and I feel that’s the moment that changed it.

“The team could’ve been frightened by the situation, we found out last night that these two players couldn’t participate, but we held onto our values and identity.

“We knew Juventus could take advantage of the situation, as they’ve won the last nine Serie A titles, but we held out well overall. We were penalised by their quality in situations where we could’ve been a little more concentrated.”

This was Milan’s first Serie A defeat since March, but Pioli looks on the positive side.

“The lads had their heads down in the dressing room and were disappointed, but in a way it was healthy for us to experience defeat, as we hadn’t felt that for a while.

“I gave them a pat on the back, said they ought to be proud of what they achieved in the circumstances. We proved that we are a strong team tonight.”

Sky Sport Italia pundit Fabio Capello told Pioli that tonight’s performance confirmed Milan are Scudetto contenders and the coach agreed.

“I too am convinced we should be ambitious, that we should leave this evening confident that we can fight it out to the end, because we’ve got what it takes.

“Having maintained that level of performance all the way through, in these circumstances, says a great deal about how good a team this Milan is.”

36 - AC Milan are enjoying the third-longest streak of Serie A consecutive matches scoring goals: 36. In the history of the competition, the only two longer streaks are both established by Juventus: 43 in 2014 and 44 in 2017. Permanent.

Upcoming Matches:
Milan ▶️ Torino, Cagliari, Atalanta
Inter ▶️ Roma, Juve, Udinese
Roma ▶️ Inter, Lazio, Spezia
Juve ▶️ Sassuolo, Inter, Bologna
.
Game against Torino shouldn't be a big problem for us and the players will also be motivated to recover from last night's defeat, expecting a win. Cagliari will surely give us tough time but it is a game we should be winning. The biggest problem will be Atalanta. Winning against them will be tough, really tough. Will be happy with a draw too. Wouldn't be surprised if we lose either.
.
Inter, Roma, Juventus have tough matches coming towards them and Inter-Juventus match could be beneficial for us. Inter losing means we could get a bigger lead while Juve's defeat could also be helpful for us later stages of the season. Same goes for Inter-Roma, Lazio-Roma, Sassuolo-Juve. All of them being drawn would've been the best but that's very unlikely.
.
Anyways we better keep focus on ourselves and not drop points against Torino and Cagliari like we did against Verona, Parma or Genoa. Forza Milan <3
