Gazidis reveals desire for ‘modern and progressive’ Milan and declares: “I want to be part of the comeback”

CEO Ivan Gazidis has told Sky Italia that he feels part of the fabric of the city of Milan, and that he wants to be part of AC Milan’s resurgence.
A short clip from the full interview – which will be aired later tonight – has been shown, with the comments transcribed by MilanNews and translated below.
“I really feel Milanese. I arrived at Milan because I have a dream. I want to be part of the comeback of this top club,” he said.
“I want a modern and progressive Milan, we are at the beginning of the path. Ibrahimovic is the exception to all rules, always. Stefano Pioli is an intelligent and profound man. Team unity is essential. I feel like a Milan fan.”

Allegri : “In football to win you need to have leaders and at Milan I had several.
For example, Ibra was a technical leader, Gattuso was a charismatic leader, Pirlo was a silent leader, then there was #Seedorf who was a pain in the ass and out of the ordinary, however, he was the one who took all the responsibilities in times of difficulty.

Seedorf was an extraordinary player, but he was one that if he caught you, he could stay and talk to you for 3 hours. In fact I said to him: "Look Clarence if I have to talk to everyone 3 hours like I do with you, it takes me days to hear everyone".

At that time he came to me and was always complaining, it was 2011, in the first round of the league he did not play that well and was always under criticism.

Sometimes I didn't let him play, but not as a punishment, just to make him find new stimuli.

But he had so much ego that after a while he came to me and he said:

“Does Mister know that I have never sat in the bench for 2 matches in a row in Milan?
And I told him: "Be prepared that Sunday will be your third bench".
It was there that, struck with pride, Seedorf began to give his best and from March onwards he made the difference and made us win the Scudetto.
This was "the professor" Clarence Seedorf ".

No player in Europe has a better ratio than @Ibra_official's 1.43 goals per 90 this season, when looking at players with a minimum of 30 minutes played per game on average. Robert Lewandowski’s 1.36 per 90 is the closest.

According to SportMediaset (via MN24) Pioli – in view of next week’s derby – should deploy a large rotation against Red Star. We could see Mario Mandzukic starting from the first minute, with Diogo Dalot and Pierre Kalulu as the left and right-backs respectively, and Ciprian Tatarusanu in goal.
In midfield Soualiho Meité should enter in place of Ismael Bennacer, with Samu Castillejo on the right wing and Rafael Leao in place of Ante Rebic on the left wing. Franck Kessie, Hakan Calhanoglu and Alessio Romagnoli would remain from the ‘usual’ XI.
Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Tatarusanu; Kalulu, Tomori, Romagnoli, Dalot; Kessie, Meité; Castillejo, Calhanoglu, Leao; Mandzukic.

The negotiations for Donnarumma’s renewal are reportedly on a hault. Milan is offering €7.5m for 5 years, but Raiola wants to sign for one or two years so that there can be more freedom to listen to offers post COVID 💰
