AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli was interviewed by Sky Sport in the Lazio-Milan post-match. Here are his statements:

On the defeat:

“Our opponents were better than us in the episodes. We should have drawn. I expected more from the team. We had the qualities to do better. I can’t understand why the referee didn’t whistle for a foul on Calhanoglu. The referee even went to review it. It’s impossible not to see a foul like that. But we have to do more. I expected more because the game was important. We have to react immediately because this defeat is very bad“.

On today’s problems:

“We let Lazio play. They have fast, quality players. We could have scored, it wouldn’t have taken much to score. We didn’t manage to do it. The second goal knocked us out. We had to give more. Our mistakes are obvious. We have to do better in order to close this championship well. We don’t want to end with disappointments“.

On Ibrahimovic:

“We need all the players. Zlatan has been out for many games and this has been a problem for us. Ibra should be back on Saturday against Benevento“.

On the Champions League:

“Now it’s more complicated because the opponents are winning a lot of games. It will not be easy. I expect an important reaction from the team“

Media Watch: Tomori Humiliated By Lazio

The Italian sports pages claims Milan centre-back Fikayo Tomori has ‘lost his edge’ after another poor performance against Lazio.

The Chelsea loanee is being criticised by the sports pages after the 3-0 defeat to Lazio and La Gazzetta dello Sport claims the second goal was ‘especially’ his fault.

The newspaper continued to claim the English defender ‘has lost his edge’, pointing out that he ‘never played in London, but now he always plays’.

Il Corriere dello Sport felt Tomori ‘desperately wanted the match to end’, after having been involved in both of Joaquin Correa’s goals. ‘First a kamikaze exit and then mercilessly dribbled’ on the second goal.

Tuttosport claims the 23-year-old, capped once by England, confirmed his form with a ‘third consecutive poor performance’.

Tomori’s ratings by the Italian sports pages:

La Gazzetta dello Sport: 5

Il Corriere dello Sport: 5

Tuttosport: 4.5

🚨 Pioli’s position at Milan has never been in discussion but the team’s decline in the second round of the season raised some doubts. Failing to finish in top 4 would put “everyone” in question including Pioli

#ACMilan is adamant that it will not move from their final offer (7+1 35M/2years). Mino Raiola has also remained firm of his demands for his client. Gigio wants to stay at Milan so a compromise seems to be in the works. A one year renewal with the option to visit this issue laterally

Napoli are considering the possible replacements for Gennaro
Gattuso and have drawn up a list of three candidates,
according to Sky Sport Italia.

The broadcaster reveals the Partenopei have already started
planning for a possible life without coach Gennaro Gattuso at
the helm.

It seems difficult for Gattuso to stay at the Stadio Diego
Maradona, even if he was to secure a place in the Champions
League for the Azzurri.

The report claims President Aurelio De Laurentiis has already
drawn up a list of potential replacements and Luciano Spalletti
is not surprisingly on the list.

The former Inter and Roma coach has been mentioned in
links and talks with the club in recent weeks.

LOSC Lille coach Christophe Galtier is also mentioned by Sky
Sport Italia as a candidate for the position in Naples.

The 54-year-old has been in charge of Lille since Decembed
2017, and his contract expires in June 2021.

The last name on the list is Vincenzo Italiano, who has helped
Spezia to Serie A and seems to be able to keep them up in his
first season in the top flight.

The broadcaster reports it seems like the relationship between
Gattuso and De Laurentiis was never really resolved, but that
the patron would try to convince the coach to stay if he
manages to bring Napoli to the Champions League.

“If one day I had to go to Italy to coach an Inter rival, I wouldn’t think twice. i have that professional way of looking at things & I feel good.”

Alexis Saelemaekers’ 2020/21 Serie A season for Milan:

29 appearances

906 minutes per goal
2 goals
4 assists
30 key passes
34 chances created

Tremendous work rate, tireless runner and has grown in first full season.

Useful winger, however must increase output. https://t.co/2RYaMeaoYr

According to "Il Giornale", Juventus have made an official offer for Donnarumma:

Gianluigi Donnarumma is under the spotlight as he is the talk of the hour, especially after what happened with the fans.

His contract matter remains unsolved, negotiations are halted, as per the Rossoneri’s Sports director Paolo Maldini’s words yesterday to ANSA.

According to what is being reported by Il Giornale, there is a mega offer in place for Gigio from Juventus. In fact, the submitted offer ensures a 20 million euros comission to Mino Raiola, 3 million euros to Alfonso, who is Donnarumma’s father, and a yearly salary of 10 million euros.

It is certainly a significant offer during a challenging period of the season. These weeks will be delicate for the player, the club, and fans.
