To potential businessmen
I am looking for a business partner who will contribute for a Working capital on a very attractive agro-processing business located in Dar, everything in in place, including Building premises/Godown, Machinery and business plan. We only need a working capital and small amount of Capex. The business has an average of 80million profit before tax over the next five years, but have the room to double/triple if we work double shift. Going to financial institution was my first option but it is delayed due to delay in obtaining my title deed which would be as collateral, however getting an equity partner has more advantage than borrowing in business sense.
 
Agro-processing has so many by products, be specific
 
It is processing, packaging and selling of maize flour , of cource na kuuza pumba

Sasa wewe huoni kwamba ukipata partner ni kwamba inapotokea faida imepatikana inabidi mgawane na unapata kidogo, ila ukisubiria huo mkopo na kuupata ukiufanyia biashara faida yote yako!

Ingawa sijaulizwa mimi lakini jibu rahisi ni kwamba. ukikopa bank kuna riba (cost of capital) ukipata partner anakuja na mtaji wake Equity (dividend unayompa ni sawa na cost of capital) lakini ujue mkopo unambwembwe nyingi zaidi ya riba na usumbufu mwingineo. ikitokea kuna shida ya kibiashara utatakiwa kutoa maelezo mengi kwa bank kuliko kumweleza business partner. hivyo hapa anatakiwa kuangalia huyo partner contribution yake ni cheap kuliko mkopo ama mkopo ni cheap kuliko business partner.

Mkuu nashukuru, umempa jibu nzuri, Equity partner ni tofauti na any lender, faida mnagawana kulingana na equity contribution yenu, au mtakavyokubaliana. Ila Lender anataka pesa yake + Interest regardless una faida au hauna. and in case of any failure in Business kwa upande wa mkopo ni lazima wachukue nyumba yako au dhamana ingine ulioweka.Alafu partner anaweza kudumu kwa muda fulani akirudisha pesa yake na faida anaweza kuondoka akakuuzia hisa zake ukaendelea peke yako
 

Inavyoonekana wewe tayari ushaweka possibility kwamba biashara yako itakufa ndo maana unaogopa kwamba nyumba yako itachukuliwa. Kama ungekuwa unajiamini na unachofanya na una uhakika na unachofanya sidhani kama ungekuwa una hofu ya biashara yako kufa na ungechukua huo mkopo benki na kuufanyia mambo na kurudisha interest yao.

Interest bank inayotaka kutoka wenye mkopo waliokupa ni sawa tu na faida ambayo equity partner ataitaka, so kuchukua mkopo bank na kupata partner yote sawa tu maana hata kama mimi ni partner nimekuja kuungana na wewe hata mimi nitataka kujua usalama wa investment yangu.
 

Kumbuka pia kwamba unapochukua mkopo bank unapata pesa issue tu hapo ni kurudisha interest but partner yeye akileta hela yake atataka pia awe na say katika management, na hii mara nyingi inaletaga matatizo maana unakuta huyo partner yeye sio mfanyabiashara ila ni mwanasiasa mfano, hajui biashara ila anataka awe na say katika operations za business, kitu ambacho kinauaga businesses. Mimi nina experience na issue ya namna hiyo
 

Any business man must expect risks, kuna risk za aina nyingi, hata kufa ni risk, kwa hiyo ukiwa na biashara usitegemee mazuri tuu, hata ukibisha ukweli uko pale pale kuwa equity partner ni tofauti na mkopeshaji. ndivyo taaluma inavyosema na faida zake ni kubwa kuliko mkopeshaji
