Sijui mpango umeishia wapi ?😅☝

unless you purchase like 20 new ships that route cant make any sense for serious business.. only small time traders can benefit from that transport.... 6, 800 tonss is 340 containers in 6 weeks... The ship can only carry 44 wagons a day!!!
3, 800-4, 500 containers cross the malaba borader everyday
But new ships r being built one by Tanzania n another by Uganda! Affordability of the route is a determinant n with time u will start seeing a serious effect esp. when SGR gets to Mwanza. And not all containers r destined to Kampala. Others go to Western Uganda n Uganda's neighbouring countries of Rwanda n Burundi.

Aa wapi... L.Victoria rout is irrelevant as long as there are no meaningful acquisition of multiple new ships....

kuhusu food aid, Google Lokichogio international airport. .. hio ndo base ya UN WFP.... Kenya is Africas highest contributer to UN resources. .. most of it being food to Somalia and S.Sudan valued more than $400m.the Lokichogio airport is where UN food Aid not only for South Sudan but also for Somalia, Drc, Sudan is broken down then transported to the respective countries.

South Sudan imports go through Uganda because there is no tarmark road cinnecting Kenya and Uganda... but that will change soon Eldoret-Nadapal-Juba Highway | $1 billion | U/C - Page 3 - SkyscraperCity

Spmetimes nikisoma post zako huwa ninakuhurumia sana, you are very much desperate hadi upo frustrated.

Hivi utasemaje Kenya ndio ndio provider wa chakula cha msaada kwenda kwenye nchi zenye mizozo wakati Kenya yenyewe inasaidiwa chakula?.Unasema hiyo airport ndiyo base ya WFP, wewe nitajie ni wapi diniani ambako chakula kingi kinasafirishwa by air?, Kweli kabisa WFP inaweza kusafirisha 50,000tonnes za vyakula by air?.

Sasa unabisha kitu gani wakati WFP tayari wameshaanza kupitisha 1000 tonnes na wamesema ni much cheaper and faster na kiahidi kuendelea kutumia central corridor na pia kuwashawishi others.

I didn't know there's no tarmac road to Uganda from Kenya 🤔 you are way poor and low how could you failed to have it to the customer who is making your port alive?

Tanzania is bordered to more than 6 countries but there are tarmac roads all over connecting the neighboring countries and 🇹🇿 is two times bigger than Kenya.

Shortest and cheaper transit route kwa uganda ikitakiwa iwe kutoka portbell musoma arusha Tanga hiyo ya mwanza ni ndefu sana na pengine hao wafanyabiashara wanaisema gharama zmepungua pengine ni kutokana na waiting time kupungua coz hakuna msongamano

On a clear, hot, and arid day, I flew from Kenya into Sudan during Operation Lifeline Sudan, a cross-border relief operation at the crosshairs of a civil war. The conflict between the Sudanese government and the South Sudanese People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) was 18 years old, driving a long-standing need for food assistance to help those caught in the crossfire.
The scene from my takeoff spot in Lokichogio, Kenya was remarkable. WFP airlift operations were underway to feed hungry families as massive Antonov and C130 cargo airplanes departed the airport at dawn to transport life-saving supplies. The United Nations was negotiating with the government and the SPLM to ensure the safety of its planes that were flying to some of the country’s most remote areas.

Good for perssenger transport... but not cargo operations... 400 tonnes is the equivalent of 20 containers! I dont even think its meant to carry that type of cargo... its probably just for carrying peoples cars since this will esecially be a ferry ... its not meant to carry goods from the port on regular basis

Hehehehe yani that small tonnage ndio inafunguliwa Uzi na wanaume walio na ndevu na wengine hata wake na watoto wanashabikia huu Upuzi? Kweli Some Tanzanians use their smaller heads to reason.

At the moment, there are two wagons carriers in operation and two more are in the process to be revived. Worry not my friend JPM can build those carriers. As a matter of fact at $24 mln u can get at least 3 wagon carriers revamped.

Uganda resumes cargo operations on Lake Victoria after a decade
The last vessel docked at Port Bell from Tanzania's Mwanza port more than a decade ago.

IN SUMMARY
  • The last vessel docked at Port Bell from Tanzania's Mwanza port more than a decade.
  • Uganda Railways Corporation (URC) said the resumption of the operations on the lake offers an alternative route to traders importing or exporting goods through the Northern Corridor.

A 900-tonne cargo ship docked for the first time in more than ten years at Port Bell in Kampala on Tuesday, signalling efforts are in earnest to revamp the Central Corridor trade and transport route.

The Tanzanian registered vessel, MV Umoja, had sailed from the northern Tanzania's Mwanza port on Lake Victoria.
The Uganda Railways Corporation (URC) said the resumption of operations on the lake offers an alternative route to traders importing or exporting goods through the Northern Corridor that links the port of Mombasa in Kenya to landlocked Uganda, Rwanda and South Sudan.

“We want to tell our clients that both routes are now feasible,” URC head of operations Mr Abubaker Ochaki told The EastAfrican.

The Central Corridor links Tanzania's Dar es Salaam port to Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo through rail, road and inland waterways.

Mr Ochaki said it costs traders $65 per tonne to deliver cargo from Dar to Kampala compared to about $90 per tonne on the Northern Corridor.

According to URC, it took four days from an initial target of five days to deliver cargo from Dar es Salaam to Port Bell.

“There can be delays, but this shows we are still able to deliver cargo within our target times,” Mr Ochaki said.

Maritime service
Ugandan abandoned the Central Corridor route when the former rail services concessionaire, Rift Valley Railways (RVR), took over the business in 2006.

MV Umoja is now expected to make 26 trips a month, Mr Ochaki told The EastAfrican.

The vessel has 22 wagons (about 40 containers).

Mr Ochaki said URC's MV Kaawa, which had been grounded since 2005, will resume operations to join MV Umoja.

Ugandan ships, MV Kaawa and MV Pamba, were withdrawn from maritime service in 2005 after MV Kaawa collided with sister vesselMV Kabalega leading to the sinking of the latter.

After several years, MV Kaawa was repaired but remained grounded “because RVR wasn’t interested in that side of the business”, Mr Ochaki said.

RVR's concession was terminated last year.

See superior infrastructure already in place, Kigongo-Busisi channel a bridge is to be constructed later on by Korea.

South Korean Premier Mr Lee Nak-yeon and his Tanzanian counterpart witnessed the signing of contract between Tanroad and GS Construction Company. The South Korean government through Exim Bank has extended help to Tanzania offering soft loans for construction of the Mwanza-based three kilometre Kigongo-Busisi Bridge.

Don't be desperate brother face the reality.
