In case you dont know: Out of its fleet of 40 aeroplanes, KQ Owns only 3 planes fully paid for by the carrier!

In case you dont know: Out of its fleet of 40 aeroplanes, KQ Owns only 3 planes fully paid for by the carrier!

There are serious reasons as to why the KAA objects to the merger. So the long and short of my post is that people should have a reason to doubt KQ as a scam!! You lease planes that you have not paid for in full…In essence, what you are doing here is inflating the number of planes you ‘own’, that’s why one has to look at it as a scam. I need an educated mind to convince me otherwise.

Babu Owino seems to have a dossier of the scam and that’s why he has all along given the KAA strike unwavering support. This has nothing to do with politics, its economics and there is a reason why it has boiled down to the ownership of the planes!! I’m also wondering whether there’s any SkyTeam member operating on a fleet that is 92.5% leased from other companies or not fully paid for!!

Travelling in a plane does not make you knowledgeable on aviation matters.

This is the global total leased aircraft in percentage.
1976 - 2%
1990 - 15%
2000 - 25%
2017 - 40%

Even a blind man can see the trend.

Very few countries can afford 100 planes for over $200 million each?

If you think these airlines fully own their planes, then there must be a problem with you.

If the likes of Ethiopian would be transparent with their books, you would find a similar story of the vast majority of their planes being leased or under debt repayment.

Ethiopian Airlines made about Ksh 23 billion profit last year. That's barely enough to buy a single dreamliner.
Yet the same airline has like 40 planes on order.
Do you think the financing will come from thin air?

Kenya imports food, then according to you even food you buy from loan, because Kenya borrows money to supplement it's budget deficit?, if your way of reasoning is correct, then Kenya borrows to pay for food, salaries and all other recurrent expenditures.

My point is, if Kenya owns 20 planes based on your press released, then your parliament is useless, that means Kenya as a country is useless, you don't trust your parliament but you trust press release, that's why Kenya is a failed state.

The Government of Kenya does not import food. Individuals or companies import food for commercial purposes.
But your Government is the one that buys the planes.
What's so hard to understand there?

Also, Kenya's revenue is enough for all recurrent expenditure.
We borrow money for specific development projects, which are captured in the budget as 'deficit'.
However, none of these projects involve buying airplanes.

Your government on the other hand borrows money to buy planes.

Rotich might borrow to pay salaries : The Standard

Hahahahahah, stop yapping, Kenya economy is collapsing, can't even pay for salaries.

You will wait for it to collapse, just like you have since Nyerere's time.

KRA revenue - Sh1.7 Trillion
Recurrent budget - Sh890 billion

We borrow for anything else but salaries.
But the News paper is from Kenya. Out of the money collected 40% is wasted to corruption, the remaining can't even cover 20% of your delusional budget.

Keep dreaming.
Corruption only happens in the development budget.
No government employee in Kenya has ever failed to receive their salary.
No government debt obligation has ever failed to be met.

The money allocated to projects is what gets stolen sometimes.

Third of Kenyan budget lost to corruption: anti-graft chief | Reuters

Hahahahahah, third of the budget is for corruption, are you the one who Decide where should this money for corruption should come from?, you have big number of ghost workers, alot of money is wasted on allowances and perdiem.

So you want to convince the world that Kenyan journalism is fake and useless and therefore we shouldn't trust, instead you know better than them?, that is a common disease of many Kenyans, the disease known as"I know everything than any other person on the global". You need to be cured from this bad disease.

Unlike in your country, in Kenya we have freedom of speech. Every mad man can claim anything and get the media to report it.

If Kenya was losing a third of it's budget...
1. Teachers, doctors, police, army, civil servants etc. would be going home without salaries.
2. Banks, China and other creditors would not be getting paid on time as they always are.
3. No kind of new infrastructure would be under construction in Kenya right now.

Fun fact.
Even if Kenya was losing 1/3 of its budget to corruption (which is not the case), it would still have a bigger budget than Tanzania.

Kenya borrows to pay debt in sign of loan service stress
Who told you that Kenya pays it's debts from its own money?, this confirms what newspapers are reporting are true, that third of you budget ends in the pockets of individuals.

Now, if you think freedom of expression in Kenya causes useless journalism, then that freedom is not required in countries were people are matured. I want you to confirm that Kenyan journalism is useless so that shouldn't be trusted.

Bigger budget is nothing if you have bigger debts to pay, because by the end of the equation what matters is how much remains in your pocket to spend. If you take how much Kenya collects per year, and how much is supposed to pay per year, it remains with far little than Tanzania, that's why you are forced to borrow in order to pay your debts.

Kenya pays about $8 billion a year in debt.
That report says we borrowed $0.75 billion.
So where do you think the rest came from? Which is over 90%.

Also, that was a one-off instance and not the norm.

Keep believing what you will about 1/3 getting lost. Just know Kenya constructed more km of roads last year than you did in the last 5 years.

Freedom of expression means you have to use your brain to filter the fake news and useless news.

USA has great freedom of expression, but Fox News content is 90% fake or propaganda news.

And that's the one thing people like you don't get. Every year you will continue wondering how Kenya's GDP expands faster than yours.

When we repay debt, this is a break down of that 'debt' money.

1. Infrastructure projects that the debt financed.
2. Interest rate.

You keep talking of debt repayment as if its is an abstract thing. You say that when Kenya repays the debt we are left with little to spend.
While in fact, that debt is actually what we spend to build roads, to build rail, to generate electricity, hospitals etc
Debt is part of our development budget.

The only expense to debt is the interest rate we pay.

Let me hammer this into your small head.

Debt = development.

For simpletons like you, the budget should be broken down as follows:

1. Recurrent expenditure
2. Development expenditure (Revenue + Loans)
3. Debt interest rates

The true amount we spend to repay loans is only the interest rate. That's less than 10% of the debt.
The rest goes into projects.

For example, when we spend Sh800 billion to repay debt in a year, in reality we have spent about Sh750 billion on infrastructure, and Sh50 billion on the interest rate.

Uhuru Lands Into Trouble With World Bank

You should also know that KQ is at different stages of completing these debts.
Even in the unlikely case that KQ goes bankrupt, they would not simply come for their planes.
Debt restructuring would mean consolidating all planes in one basket (those that are 90% paid plus those that are 20% paid).

I'm pretty sure KQ would end up with no less than 10 fully paid planes, by virtue of money spent servicing the debt over the years.

That said, there are 40 planes flying with KQ colours. There are 3 planes flying with ATCL colors.
I give your village airline 15 - 20 years before banks agree to lend it that kind of money.
What you don't know is those banks formed a group and have the maximum share in the KQ of more than 38% so they are the part and parcel of the entire company,

Stop the mumbo jumbo and realise the plain fact, you know nothing, if that consortium leaves KQ today you will be left with only 3 planes.

When China complains, come here and tell us.
WB, IMF and the west are bitter because we no longer have to rely on them for loans, which come with so many conditions.

What you need to know is this.
We will continue borrowing and repaying, every year, forever.

When looking at our budget, simple people like you will see sh800 billion going to debt repayment. Intelligent people will see Sh800 billion going to infrastructure.
