There aint no beef or real hostile shots fired between J Cole and Drake, if you refer to January 28th Track then you also need to take a listen at Cole's note to self he gave a shutout to Drake et. al

Over the past few years Drake and J Cole have frequently shared the same stage, last year Drake himself referred to J Cole as his brother, one of the greatest guys he has ever known.

Nobody said they was beefin', or there was any hostility between them. But they ain't friends, and they've been exchanging shots.
When Drake was killing that joke noise maker from Philly, he needed to pull a few brothers to his side. He even shouted out Chris Brown and Charlamagne. It's called business.
Drake and Jay-Z been taking shots at each other, but they would still acknowledge one another in interviews.
Cole and Drake aren't friends. They only put up with each other whenever they have to, cuz they are in the same business. They need fans from each base.
Shout outs don't necessarily mean friendship. Tupac once shouted out Nas; "now I'm worldwide, where b!tches gossip and hide/ no offense to Nas, but the whole fcukin world is mine/".
