Is it time for Kenya to Embrace Ethiopia and dump Tanzania?

Is it time for Kenya to Embrace Ethiopia and dump Tanzania?

There is even hardly anything to dump there......The difference is the same whether Danganyika is doing business or not.....The only unfortunate thing is that is is our neighbour to the south

With a new road linking Kenya to the 100 million people strong Ethiopia, is it time Kenya ended this never ending sibling rivalry with Tanzania? Is it time Kenya told Tanzania to add an extra line to their proposed gas pipeline to export their jealousy and inferiority complex to Uganda and looked North for a more beneficial trade relationship with Ethiopia?View attachment 836195View attachment 836196View attachment 836197View attachment 836198
The mistake you are doing is taking Adis over Dar. Why not all of them? Is the oil pipe still a story lingering in your mind? That won't go well with your development because it is irreversible. So is to say Lamu harbour is no longer your plan. You can love Ethiopia but, will Ethiopia love Kenya?

Wishing you the best but, you may end up importing immigrants en-route to Capetown.

In our community the elders say, "the tree that bears the fruits is hit with the stones most", Why so much hatred and bitterness against Kenya from our African brothers?
Check in online forums, From Nigerians , Bongolalas , South Africans ,Somalis ...and then these people are the most ignorant ever, arguing with them turns you into a teacher because their arguments are just rumors.

Can you imagine i saw a South African say Kenya is owned by Whites ???? of all people a Black South African ..

But another special case is Bongolalas , its more than just hatred and bile, it can only LOW SELF ESTEEM.
Don't be surprised by outsiders' assessment. I believe that is a sentiment one gets from Kenyan. Given the history of colonialism in Africa, Many African countries learned how to hate white oppressors but, it is the opposite in Kenya. Kenyans love being oppressed by whites. Nowadays even Chines can just defile Kenya system with impunity. Your aggressive police are similarly very weak to foreign whites! Have you ever wondered about this behaviour?

You want seeing the opposite? Go to Kampala and see how they even dealt with Indians who tried to ruin the Mabila forest. South Africa is obvious, Zimbabwe is a different story. Go to Dar and see whites dancing traditional dances. They cooperate. In Kenya they segregate the locals, making them labourers!

in Kenya, the white man shoots a native Kenyan and say, was thinking it's a pig. then, do you know what happened to this mzungu? the the court ruled, Dalamare has pleaded not guilty. he's free now. this's Kenya when it comes to treat the m(z)ungu.

The Kenya and Ethiopia electricity transmission interconnector is expected to be completed next year, concluding the first phase of the region's power pool project.
Kenya’s Energy Principal Secretary Joseph Njoroge said that the 1,045km line is three-quarters complete on the Kenyan side and 90 per cent complete on the Ethiopian side.
“We estimate that the entire project will be complete mid next year and will help improve the electricity trade in the East African region,” said Mr Njoroge...
Phase One of regional power pool project set for completion

Mi naona jamaa ethopia anataka kumuuzia umeme tu ....lakkini sio issue nyingine

Kaka hao wana roho mbaya kuna mkenya alikuwa anakaa kwetu mbezi beach jogoo alikuwa anasoma chuo cha imtu chuo udaktari kipindi cha nyuma kidogo tulimsadia kama ndugu yetu sasa yupo uk london hivi akiiona hizi post za ndugu zake sijui atajisikiaje

This rivalry is being pushed more by Tz than Kenya.

Foreign teachers leave Tanzania
5. Kweli kuna mtanzania anaweza sema kitu gani Kenya imewafanyia? Wengi watasema zile shida za East african airways, lakini ukweli ilikua Kenya was running that airline by itself and TZ and UG refused to contribute capital in its operations.

Mimi naona wivu tupu kwa vile WaTz wanashanga mbona hii nchi ya Kenya that has very little good land, no minerals is far ahead of them. Lakini si waTz wote, in the times i have lived in Dar, the people were welcoming and had a very good community spirit that we could emulate in Kenya. Sijui nini inasumbua waTZ kwenye hii forum. Threads and answers here are just negative towards Kenya unless posted by a Kenyan

Ila we ndugu mkenya una danganya ss , bidhaa za kenya zizo haribiwa zilikuwa ni maziwa yaliyo expire tena ni mtanzania ndio alikuwa ana import tokea kenya ... Ukiona bidhaa inaharibiwa ujie haina ubora unaopaswa kuingia nchini ... Kuhusi walimu wa kenya ni true kwa sababu kuna mambo ya ya work permit wengi hawanaga permit na ndio maana walifurushwa na ni baada ya kukataa kilipia permit .... Hata mtz hawezi fanya kazi kenya bila permit ...

There is this long-time culture of pride. That, we don't want to admit that this is wrong. Whatever is happening in our countries we would like showing others, especially neighbors that it is all fine here! To me that is pity. Be it done in Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Angola, etc. those people will say, it is Africa. Just Africa!

Let's be together. So Kenya accept to be corrected. Saying you have big economy is stupid! Which economy! Going by Museveni's word, "competition of the dwarfs" We are all poor, in Africa. Kenya correct that mentality of appreciating the white skinned people. At almost 60 years after independence you still have white settlers, some are pretending being Kenyans. Theoretically, yes! Again, you have black lords! Today the Republic of South Africa is re-drafting its position on land ownership, which must be appreciated by all good wishers because they have sense of understanding and hating oppression by anyone. Now, Look at the situation in Kenya. One family owns almost everything good, from land to food processing, to industries and now even leadership. How can Kenyan opt to vote for such a person? Okay, it is tribal politics but, why such a person who had never regretted seeing landless fellows while he can't even say the size of land he owns.

It is embarrassing to see citizens who can't react against that and they keep on saying we are fine.

Ethiopia is a closed economy, totally controlled by the government, its still one of the few illeberal economies left in africa, their economy is still tightly controlled by the minority tigray tribe, the grip by the tigray tribe is too firm such that the majority oromo tribe is helpless against them, its only recently that the deep state within the ruling party(ERPPF) out sourced a sell out from the oromo and made him prime minister while they pull strings from behind, see, the oromo peoples place within the ethiopian society was a time ticking bomb, something was bound to give for the to feel free and alas the clever tigrays decided to blind and appease the from one of their own,but prime minister abby ahmed has not dissapointed,he has hit the ground running with varied reforms such as the peace pact with eritrea, their arch rivals.oh boy, this young leader is charismatic and visionary,it is what africa needs. Far from that, back to kenya trade with ethiopia, kenya hawk capitalist have always waited with baited breath to jump border and exploit opportunities in the land of habesha, but the habeshas are largely conservative and closed.they are closely following the foot steps of the chinese, nurture their nascent institutions, corporatations, industries etc until they are ripe for competition and open up to foreign investments, they are building industrial parks to attract blue chip companies to set up base in their country,a very expensive venture, they have used billions of dollars and accrued massive loans.the problem with this model of industrialisation is that return on investment is highly dependent on whether actually blue chip companies will come and set up,what if they don't you are doomed, remember other critical sectors of the economy such as comminication, banking, insurance, transport, virtually much of service industry is closed from foreign investment.this model is old skool and worked for the chinese in the 80s,what worked for the chinese then was hinged on state of affairs those days, the problem with africa is that we want to copy paste test and tried modes of developement that worked for uniquely for other races.we lack in originality, our leaders are not visionary and do not care for us.

Revamping more car trafficking between you and Ethiopia first, 30 cars per day yet you expect to reaping billions from them? How?

To the old neighbours like Kenya and Ethiopia to this time you should have been not thinking about starting the business instead you should think about enhancing and enlarge it to this era of the fast growing Ethiopia you expect to take over their shipments?

You have already lost because there must be other old partners for Ethiopia who will never let you take him from them or else you should come out with crazy impressive favors out of this world, which you have nothing to ambush Ethiopia shipments

REDEEMER,on the contrary,it is not a question on whether kenya has a chance of exploiting ethiopia potential,it is a question of whether ethiopia will let kenya, ethiopia is not established, its virgin with opportunity,we look at them and drool at the bussiness opportunies bound there, ethiopia is just collecting itself from decades of coups, civil wars, border wars, tribal clashes, hunger, widespread poverty, communism and so on and on,they are trying to find footing, outside addis ababa, there is nothing to write home about that country, the poverty levels in the countryside are shocking, even on african level,oh and they still need lamu port, its strategic to them for their southern region, there is no landlocked country worth it salt that can depend on one port.and by the way trade between the kenya and ethiopia is in the region of 20ksh billion.

And what happened to Safaricom's dreams to acquire Ethiopian Telecom? As far as I know Vodacom SA is to acquire Ethiopian Telecoms! Meanwhile Ethiopian government just signed agreements to use Asmara port as a second gateway after Djibouti. Meanwhile EA Brew have been outmanoeuvred by SABMiller by entering the Ethiopian market first by acquisition of a local brewery there!

It's actually wrong to use a word revamping overthere! ☝

Geza Ulole you are very good at rumuor mongering, you should reach out to North korea kim jong un for a job, rumour mongering thrives pretty well in North korea,i missed the memo where vodacomSA and SAB miller acquired stakes in ethiotelco and ethiopian breweries respectively, monopoly in those state corporations is still alive and kicking, you can do better by tabling acquisition documents,FYI safcom overtook MTN the largest telco in africa by market capitalisation despite safcom being relative young,so,you can see safcom is not desperate, they will jump border when necessary and given opportunity,in any case if those SA corporations beat kenyan corporations to enter ethiopian market, well and good, so be it,they will still provide jobs and services right,we are africans and africa is our bussiness, and by the way, ethiopian market is huge, over a 100 million people is no joke,i think there is something for everyone.
