I can't trust the Chinese for nothing. Kenya has always been a capitalist economy and I will stick with that.
Hii biashara na wa-China at the end of the day the Chinese will have the last laugh. That I have no doubts.

it has a life of its own. People steal money meant for projects, demand kickbacks for almost everything,
bickering and politics stall all these projects. That has nothing to do with the donors.

Clear up that beast called corruption then everything else will fall into place. Hata hio tender ya SGR is
riddled with question marks. Jana tu, Laptop tender imekua cancelled yet watu walikua wanaifagilia like
its the best thing that ever happened 'since the invention of sliced bread'.

First and foremost every country in the world is corrupt,be it kenya, Tanzania USA or you name it. But the word itself has been corrupted, it was used bu broke governments in the West to explain why their projects in Africa are white elephants. The same reasons are heaped on Tanzania. These are the reasons for the failure. ONe hardly 25 per cent of western aid ever finds its way into Africa, Much of it is wasted in the Western capitals on shaddy administrative jobs. Second, delays even in disbursement, causes projects to fail due to cost overruns which the West christens as corruption. The Chinese on the other hand give a grant or loan for a project and the following day they are there with shovels. Their projects are unlikely to fail. How come the Chinese do not complain about corruption yet they are giving monies that must be paid for? As for laptops. There has been a concerted though subtle effort to sabotage the project. Uhuru may have toi hang one or two fellows to sent the message home
