Is Tanzania ousting Kenya as East Africa's powerhouse?

I meant all that Produce comes from Production and can mean goods to the final stage standing in the place of manufacturing! Most of those malls in Kenya r selling foreign merchanise!
What!! Can you prove that??
Even if,they pay import duty and VAT...so its a win win.

go to those malls and see what they sell start with Apparel stores and see design wears, watches, sunglasses, shoes e.t.c. over 90% not from Kenya!

Hahahha...just dwell on that. Those are affluent products. Talk about common items.

It is still very early days but it is good competition. Kwa maoni yangu, Tanzania has a strong general (Magufuli) and a weak army (Tanzania private sector, smaller tertiary educated class). Kenya nayo has a weak general (Uhuru) and a strong army (Kenya private sector, larger tertiary educated class). Time will tell.

but in any of those malls how many of perishable merchandise shops r there? very few usually non pershable goods rule!

Mbona povu jingi kaka.. Ukweli unauma au??

Si huwa wanasema.. no empire will last forever..

movie theatres how many of those movies r Kenya? how many of food courts r Kenyan brands? even food courts i am pretty sure about half of them r foreign brands!

So Kenya attracts that much foreign interest...

Don't get me started with that Bagamoyo port, that will not make significant impact for atleast 20 years. By the way, you should read a damning report by Tanzania Shipping Agents Association (Tasaa).
Burning a whopping $11 billion to build a white elephant for the sake of being seen to be competing with Kenya doesn't make economic sense.

The world is a global village, I don't need to be in Tanzania to understand what's going on in your ailing sugar industry. I have access to information overload, indepth analysis by your own economic experts.

For your information, Uganda wasn't a blow to us. They simply refused to have a joint pipeline with us and chose to construct their own. It must be noted that Lappset was conceived without Uganda in mind. We are still building our own pipeline, railway, road, port, resort towns etc. Lappset is very much alive.

There are more oil discoveries happening, we will soon be hitting several billions, while noting our current per barrel break even is less than that $70 you're deluding yourself with.

Our country has got all its turbo engine fired up, be ready to gather dust behind us.

Or do they import their ingredients??
And they employ Kenyans. Or do they ship in labour from their mother country??
And please, most courts are Kenyan. A good example java, savanna, baby world....
