Allow me to share my experience with you. It was last week when I traveled in our village to greet my parents. Actually it was quite long time since we I go there , almost 5 year since my uncle took me to Dar es salaam as part of giving me a chance to repeat my O-level studies and if possible joining a college.
After arriving in our village, it was just clear to me things haven't changed much in terms of infrastructures and community life as before, however, there were many new faces particularly to youth generation.
Without talking to anyone I walked home and when I was around to enter our campus, We call "Bomani" in our village, I met my nephew who took my laggages on my hand towards home. It was a nice experience to met them and all seems very happy to see me. After having lots of hugs to my parents, siblings as well as my relatives, they allowed me to go for bathing and change my clothes.
Later in the evening my mom came in my house and we starting having some conversations. She was particularly interested to find out how her brother was doing in the city?. I told her a lot about him, in our talk I mentioned some of the impressive archievement that he had made so far.
I told her , my uncle now is the CEO of the prominent company in the city. His company is responsible with marine shipping. He travels to Europe now and then and actually is having lots of investment such as min supermarket and is a dealer for selling used Car from Japan. Briefly, he is considered one of the successfully man in the area we are staying.
In between our conversations, I noticed something unusual in the voice tone and facial expressions of my Mom....and go on to ask why are you behaving like this?
She replied to me with a sad voice saying my son listen to me very carefully. What you are telling me is like an insult to us!!
She goes on lamenting, and this time she seems rude and radical....how comes if my brother is such successfully, why he doesn't even pick my calls?
How often I recharge my phone na kujiunga bundle but when I call him he normally cut off my call even without sending a message back to notify me if I could try to reach him later ?? Cause he seems to be very busy rich man!!!
Do you think, this is fair? She keeps rouming as lion !!
After a long talk she stopped lamenting and now she was starting come back to her normal tone and she narrated to me how life is so hard there at village. "The faming we used to relay on . .now has remained a story since drought has been going on for 2 year consecutively." She said!!.
All our cow and goat we had have finished. It is really a frustrating and overwhelming situation.
We continued to talk till late night and my mom ask me to get rest and we will continue where we left tomorrow.
