Kenyas Speaker Mr.Justin Muturi
Is in Japan Together with the Majority Leader Aden Duale
Wea is geza at??
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Monday made a special request to President Uhuru Kenyatta after meeting National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi in Tokyo, Japan.
Shinzo urged Kenya to reconsider its decision of withdrawing all KDF soldiers from the peacekeeping mission in South Sudan.
The Japan PM urged Kenyatta to engage the United Nations (UN) over its decision to sack Lt General Johnson Mogoa Ondieki - the Kenyan Commander of the UN mission in South Sudan (Unmiss) - and sort out the issue amicably.
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon relieved Ondieki of his duties after the UN special investigations team unveiled a damning report on operations in South Sudan.
According to the report, it was found out that "chaotic and ineffective response" coupled with poor leadership, may have led to the death of many civilians who were not protected during the fight.
“For our part, we will no longer contribute to a mission that has failed to meet its mandate, and which has now resorted to scapegoating Kenyans,” Kenyatta stated.
Muturi was accompanied by Majority Leader of the National Assembly, Aden Duale as they held talks over different issues with the PM in Tokyo.
In August, Abe was in the country to attend the 6th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) that was held for the first time in Nairobi.
