Preserving the Union and maintaining peace will be the next president's main challenges, President Jakaya Kikwete has said.
The country has a lot of political parties and different ethnic groups but we must remain as one for our peace to prevail forever, he told Tanzanians living in Sweden.
President Kikwete was optimistic that Tanzania will get a good President who will proceed with development projects that his administration could not finish.
He also told expatriates that October will be the last election that Tanzanians living abroad do not vote.
Tanzanians in Sweden leader, Tengo Kilumanga applauded President Kikwete sincere intentions to end poverty in Tanzania and being the best example in the East African region.
We congratulate you because you are different from other African leaders who are greedy of power and not ready to leave their position, he said.
This is President Kikwete's farewell tour to donors and development partners. He left for Finland on Sunday, where he stayed for three days and later went to Sweden and the Netherlands.
