Today as I was going through some of the yearly reports from Tanzanian National Bureau of Statistics, I came to realize that JKIA is handling more passengers than all the airports in Tanzania combined. The report from the NBS stated that in 2019 Tanzanian airports handled a combined passenger number of 5.5 million which is 3 million less than what JKIA alone handled in 2019.

In Tanzania the busiest airport last year was JNIA which handled a total of 2.3 million passengers (1,176,000 international passengers and 1,145,000 domestic passengers). To make the work easier, let me start by showing you the performance of JKIA in 2019 as reported by the Kenya Bureau of Statistics.

The second table is from NBS and this how the airports performed.
1. JNIA -2.3M
2. Abeid Amani Karume International airport- 1.4m
3. Kilimanjaro -777,000

MY TAKE
Kenya with a population less than that of Tanzania has twice the number of domestic travellers (4.9m) as compared to Tz(2.9).

QUESTION
Where is the biggest airport in East Africa Community?
 
Sawa mzee baba, Mmekula lakini? Nasikia WFP wanawafanyia mpango mpate kula.

Ni aibu sana kwao that one airport in Kenya handles more passengers than all Tanzanian airports combined. Ingekuwa kupiga domo ndio kila kitu nakuambia Tanzania ingekuwa inashinda Kenya kwa kila kitu.

I agree. Nashuku Mombasa port inahandle more cargo than all four port of TZ. They have more airports and ports than Kenya but the few Kenyan facilities handle more cargo and passengers than them.

Hujadanganya. All the Tanzanian ports handled a total of 17.2m tonnes while Mombasa Port alone handled 34.4m tonnes in 2019. That`s double what Tanzanian ports handled.

Kenya is in a Totally different league. Kenya can only compete with other regions in northern, Southern & West Africa

Ni mara tatu hadi change ibaki 😂 😂 😂 . Na venye huwa wanapiga domo hapa ati sijui biggest airport in East and central Africa, kumbe biggest airport only handles 2 million passengers😂😂
