The only organization that matters in Airport rankings is the World airport awards which is run by skytrack, its like the WTA of airports.
airports can be ranked based on different critea depending on the organization doing the rankings. .. e.g based on safety, standards, persenger throughput, persenger experience, capacity, conectivity, ease of travel, innovation, architecture/beauty/infrastructure. ..
But I like how this organisation chose these specific creteria to do their ranking...bcause you can rank airports in 10 different ways but at the end of the day, what matters in one thing - the customer! And this organisation captires exactly that.
-If this was about the most beautiful/mordern airport EA- Kigali airport would easily take it.
-If this was about aviation safety as Tanzanians have been bragging all week..then JNIA would take it.
- if this was about connectivity to international cities or about PAX then JKIA would easily take it..
But for all the airports in the world are created for one purpose, and that is to facilitate air travel... This ranking seeks to answer the question..which airport is actually doing the main job that an airport is supposed to do.
Quality of service- emigration processing, navigating rhe airport, basic utilities, are the staff helpful..etc
-On time performance - does the airtrafic controller do a proper job of facilitating aircrfs to land and takeoff right on the scheduled time? What about refueling, do aircraft repair and maintenance get done withing expected time? Whats the performance record interms of maximum number of persengers that have been processed in an hour?
Customer sentiments - is the average customer satisfied by the service offered at the airport from the moment he entered till when he/she left?
