Are these kind of teachers seeking post to teach our kids?Most of job academic requirements in ajira portal exclude applicants.
I suggest that the secretariat widen the window for applicants to be able to apply for most posts. For instance someone has a bachelor of arts with education (English language & Geography) or (English language & History) or (English language & Kiswahili) (English language & Literature)
This person can surely be a tutorial Assistant of geography, history, English language, Communication skills, literature.. etc but the application system does not recognize these people as potential job applicants of those positions (Tutorial Assistance)
I keep wondering as it is known that in Tanzanian universities there's a number of lecturers who took Bachelor of something WITH education (with two teaching subjects) at undergraduate level and they're doing well in their positions now (check the staff list of various universities). Currently I have received complaints and concerns that many applicants are being rejected by the application system when applying for various Tutorial Assistant positions just because they have a Bachelor of xxxx WITH education.
I think this has to be corrected so even the denied graduates can have an equal opportunity to fight for their desired jobs in which sometimes they're as good as those who took Bachelor of xxxx IN or even better. I'm not sure whether this is TCU's guideline or maybe universities decisions.
I understand those who took Bachelor of xxxx IN are good but even those with bachelor of xxxx WITH are as equally good.
This problem is not only from where I have mentioned, it also goes to other jobs. The academic programmes option in the portal does not align with the reality of applicants situations.
It is time to recheck job qualifications and make enough room for deserving job seekers.
Just me thinking out loud. What are your thoughts?
