Sasa mnakaribia vp Uganda!? Ungekuwa Mganda, kipi bora kati ya kusafirisha cargo moja kwa moja kwa Narrow Gauge Railway toka Dar mpaka Kampala kwa kutumia wagon ferries across lake Victoria ama SGR Mombasa-Naivasha at high cost then via trucks to Kampala? Mind u our narrow gauge modernization has allowed trains to move at 80km/h.

ICD ishajengwa ishakamilka.
We mkikuyu mla kidheri unajifanya mzungu

Hamna mahali niliposema ICD ipo Naivasha town. Nilisema ipo Naivasha. Kumbuka Naivasha ni kubwa. Wacha siasa nyingi. ICD ipo Naivasha sio lazima iwe Naivasha town.

Haha hizo 50 wagons per day zinanifurahisha sana Hahaha. Umenichekesha kweli. Uganda wanaimport 80% of their containers through Kenya through road. Kenyan road is cheaper than your SGR. You are not competing with Kenyan Sgr, you are competing with cheap Kenyan road transport. 50 wagons per day is like 50 trucks that pass through Busia border in one hour.

There is already 2 wagon ferries in operation Mv Kawa n Mv Umoja! Each with at least 20 wagons! From Mwanza to Kampala the journey is 6 hours (less hours with new ferry design) meaning at least 2 trips three trips (go n return) can be made per day. Not a bad start as Uganda is trying to revive Mv Kabalenga. JPM knows around 5 wagon ferries r needed a reason a 2nd is already on works! We just need 50% of uganda's cargo u have 80% n we have 20% at the moment!

Muunganiko wa " Rail - Marine - Rail", is the cheapest and safest mode of transportation, roads transportation can't compete.

Thes naysayers will always try to undermine this achievement.100 global companies have shown interest in Naivasha starting with a giant global danish brewer that will put up a Ksh 4.5 billion factory to produce Tuborg, Carlsberg, Holsten, and Kronenbourg beers for export to the African continent. The Kenyan sgr was built not to depend on traffic to Uganda and south sudan alone but also on traffic from the special economic zones which will ensure containers are full on their way back to mombasa. This is strategic thinking not impulsive actions based on envy as our neighbors do.

SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONE
Global beer firm to set up Sh4bn plant in Naivasha
Danish Brewing E.A Limited will be the first anchor tenant at the proposed Naivasha Industrial Park
In Summary
•There has been increased confidence in the industrial park by both local and international investors with more than 100 firms expressing interest in setting up shop
•Danish Brewing E.A Limited will be the first anchor tenant at the proposed Naivasha Industrial Park
Earth movers work on roads leading to future industrial park in Mai Mahiu, gazetted as a special economic zone.

Danish Brewing Company E.A Limited, a subsidiary of Bounty Global Management DWC LLC is set to be the first anchor tenant at the Naivasha Industrial Park.
The beer maker has set aside $45 million (Sh4.59 billion) to set up its operations in the country.
More than 100 local and international investors have so far expressed interest in setting up shop at the planned industrial park.

The brewer of Tuborg, Carlsberg, Holsten, and Kronenbourg beers, as well as Somersby Cider plans to set up a plant with a production capacity of 12-15 million cases of beer annually.

The firm will also employ 350 Kenyans and produce beverages using sorghum sourced locally from their recently launched Farmers Outreach Programme, expecting to contract 17,000 farmers.

Naivasha, Kisumu and Dongo Kundu special economic zones combined with the private industrial parks(Nairobi Gate industrial park, Tilisi industrial park and infinity industrial park) being built will make Kenya the Manufacturing hub of Africa in the next 10 yrs. Our sgr has already been marked by the AU as the important key to the equatorial land bridge to connect east and the west coast of africa after the African Union Commission’s High Representative for Infrastructure, Raila Odinga met with LAPSSET executives.

7) Mlionyesha interest ya kuweka UMEME ktk SGR yenu by May 2020
