Court in Kampala has sentenced five people to a fine of Shs3 million each after they were found guilty of operating Clinics without licenses from Medical and Dental Practitioners.
The five led by Nakubulwa Allen and Bashaija Fred appeared before City Hall Court Grade One magistrate Beatrice Khainza who read the charges to them.
They all pleaded guilty.
They were also charged with different offence of operating clinics in dirty premises.
According to the prosecution, all the convicts were arrested on October 20, 2016 from Kampala Central Division and Rubaga.
While sentencing them, the magistrate ruled that by failing to pay licenses, the convicts intended to defraud government’s revenue which cannot be accepted by courts of judicature.
