Kenya – Africa’s infrastructure powerhouse

Guy the gentrification is taking a very high speed over the Manzese area.

Again stop calling kibera unplanned settlement. It is a typical slum.

Okay sir....

The unplanned settlement in Nairobi are slums, while the slums in Dar are unplanned settlements.

I get it, dont worry

That's not my definition. It's a general accepted definition. Apart from being unplanned, slums must have a level (low) cross sectional property value across a neighbourhood.

Okay, and what if this low valued housing is interspersed with a number of houses with reasonable quality/ value?

they dont know food poisoning does not necessarily mean somebody mixed the food with redcat with a sinister motive of killing....anyway it was just dehydration
even some kenyans who reacted after that incident, don't know the meaning of "food poisoning".

Huh! never opened this thread but on opening today, what a comic relief!

SA is of course vastly more developed than Kenya, and some Tz fellows are using this to sugarcoat their own shortcomings, lol.

But on a brighter note, Kenya has made strides in trying to bridge that huge development gap with SA , which saw it cross over to middle income territory.

Motorways were nonexistent a while back but now they're underway in 4 cities with one slated to join them all, 1000km of it. Industrial parks are u/c in the 5 largest cities, Health centers are now more widespread than was previously, All these without any notable mineral exports to help provide finance.
yeah we give you credit for that , just that some of your fellow countryman are just making me not to stand their "development" they act as if that one building thats been built in nairobi makes the development of a country . not knowing its only gon b few individuals that will b working in it or even worse some expats are the ones who will b occupying that shining building lol

That's a situation in Dar. Your neighbor could possess a high quality two storeys building. The areas normally consist a mixture of properties with different values from the low, middle to high valued. For this case you can term the areas as slums, but unplanned settlements.

i also don't understand why you always come up with this line,"one building",,There are multiple buildings under construction but ofcourse its hass/pinnacle which will be the tallest in Africa..I think thats the reason.anyway hass was not mentioned in the aritcle above, there are many projects going on

kenyans are very proud to be called 2nd in everything development hey .
Ofcos we are proud of tge fact that we arr ranking among the top just like u guys are take pridee at being at the very top. What is wrong with that?

U were livid when the Nigerians were celebrating overtaking your country as the biggest economy in the continent, we saw how u guys lambasted them on Nairaland. Are u not here mocking and disparaging Kenya cos of those two reports placing Kenya ahead of SA in terms investments and rapid infrastructure growth?

By the way, Kenya has the fastest internet speed in the continent, ahead of SA. We arr proud of that.
