Kenya declares war on Al Shabaab!

I have not said that they are open in all operational matters but when it comes tO reporting their own casualties and allowing a level of scrutiny from oversight bodies, KDF have shown that they are more open than Ethiopia and UPDF (who were denying their soldiers were killed even after AS released pics). This is something that even those of you who do not like Kenya to the extent of almost supporting AS can see plainly because they are matters in the public domain so I don't really know what you are arguing about.

P.S. even the Kenya navy captain who sank an alleged AS skiff was wheeled out in front of the media to explain his actions, which other military in this region can you envisage doing anything like that?

Mkuu those shabaab guys do not even use weed, they eat khat (mirungi) and become sloppy but they are still able to withstand KDF. Talk of a "modern" army, cho!

So if they can withstand KDF why are they making all these "tactical retreats" out of regions they controlled before KDF went there? I mean, they just vacated Gedo last week and fro the first time in years, that province, with the exception of one town is free of AS.

I will go on a limb and trust that source. I have to say I have never heard of Monduli. Those Kenyans there must be there on a friendly basis but not a need to basis; because Kenya has the means to train their military at all levels - it should be obvious because Kenya has more money. I know Tanzanians are also trained by us at the best school in the region in Karen. Maybe its an exchange program of sorts.

Kenyan takes charge of local Al Shabaab Wing
Police have confirmed that an orgnaisation linked to Al Shabaab has picked a Kenyan to head its terrorist activities in the country.

Amiir Ahmad Iman Ali has direct links to the Muslim Youth Centre (MYC) mentioned in a United Nations Monitoring Group report last year as part of the Somali-based terrorist group's network in Kenya.

The group's nerve centre is said to be a mosque in Pumwani, Nairobi, and the photo posted on Al Shabaab's website above their statement shows Ali at a location believed to be in the city.

Kenyan Air Force Kills Seven Somali Children in Jilib

Jilib is a town that is located just south of Kismayo in Somalia. Today, the Kenyan airforce killed seven Somali children and injured others. Traditionally, Kenya has not fought against Somalia as has been the case between Somalia and Ethiopia. Today, we have the son of a Kenyan father sitting as president of the US and for the first time we see strong Kenyan military action in Somalia. A few months ago, someone conveniently arranged for two white women to be kidnapped and taken across the border from Kenya into Somalia, one British and one French. This was immediately blamed on al Shabaab. However, there has been no proof that al Shabaab had anything to do with those kidnappings and al Shabaab never admitted to the kidnappings. One must also ask what purpose would it serve for al Shabaab to carryout such kidnappings. I can think of none, just as I could think of no reasons for the Libyan government under Muammar Gaddafi or the Syrian government under President Assad to wantonly fire upon their own people. There is no logic behind any of it. Therefore, the question must be asked, what is the agenda of the international banking investor class?. In Libya, al Qaeda was shooting protesters and pointing the finger at the Libyan government with the Rothschild media serving as a microphone for those lies. In Syria, the same is occurring. Again, in Kenya, there is no evidence that al Shabaab kidnapped these white women but it did trigger Kenya to begin to do the military bidding of the man sitting in the White House. As a result of this, Kenya has indicated it has killed hundreds of Somali fighters just as the US is claiming it has killed thousands of insurgents and terrorists in Afghanistan and elsewhere, while the pictures of those killed shows something far different. Most of those being killed are civilians and this is the case with Kenya, as well. Kenya has one of the world's largest slums but it also has the highest paid politicians in the world. Kenya's PM, Raila Odinga, said to be a cousin of President Barack Obama, receives a salary of $435,000. Odinga was also involved in the negotiation in the Ivory Coast which led to war in the Ivory Coast resulting in the killing of thousands and the French establishing Alassane Outtara as president in the Ivory Coast.

This Shabaab guys are drama moguls. They were born for the stage and not the battlefield. They were speaking recently that they are in kisimayu and yet they were far away at punt-land indoctrinating their northern kinsmen through megaphones to support them in war. The other day they were simulating a battle confrontation by shooting several times in the air and taking the records to local radio stations that are not monitored saying they were killing KDF. You do not have to be told we are dealing with cowards here. I suspect even the videos that alshabaab post @ aljaezera and other propaganda machines, are taken at northbound puntland and not jubaland in the south

Poll: 82 percent of Kenyans back Al -Shabaab fight
Kenya's war against the Al-Shabaab has received a major boost after an overwhelming majority of Kenyans supported the ongoing military operation in Somalia.

A recent survey conducted by the University of Nairobi's Institute of Development Studies established that 82 per cent of Kenyans approve of the Operation Linda Nchi to defeat the militants.

According to the lead researcher Prof Winnie Mitula, the survey covered 2,400 respondents of voting age drawn from 44 of the country's 47 counties.


Three counties, Lamu, Isiolo and Mandera were not covered because they were inaccessible to enumerators due to insecurity.

According to findings, only 11 per cent of Kenyans feel that the government has handled the war against the militants badly. The remaining seven per cent are not aware that the country has gone to war.

Dr Kivuva also attributed the positive responses from Kenyans to the good public relations exercise put up by the Kenya Defence Forces spokesmen, Colonel Cyrus Oguna and Major Emmanuel Chirchir since the war started.
