Hii ni baada ya kuona kwamba utalii wa Tanzania unazidi kuufunika utalii wa Kenya. Sekta ya utalii Kenya imesambaratishwa na nashambulizi ya kigaidi wakati utalii wa Tanzania ukiendelea kustawi kutokana na amani iliyotawala, ili kuweka mambo sawa, Kenya imeamua kutumia fursa ya ujio wa Corona ili kusambaratisha utalii wa Tanzania

Tanzania Hits Back; Accuses Kenya of Reporting False Numbers To Sabotage Tourism and Business​

As the current relationship between Kenya and Tanzania continue to deteriorate, Tanzania has once again hit on Kenya with claims that it has plans to sabotage its tourism and the business sector.

According to a statement released by Tanzania, the country has stated that the positive COVID-19 numbers Kenya claimed to be from Tanzania are false and it is only trying to tarnish the countries name.

“Arusha region is convinced that this is a deliberate sabotage strategy designed by Kenya against the tourism industry in Arusha and Tanzania at large,” reads the statement.

According to Arusha Regional Commissioner Mrisho Gambo the country tested 44 drivers between May 14 and May 18 where 14 drivers among them being 11 Kenyans tested positive while 30 others were confirmed to be negative.

At the same time, the statement has also claimed that the positive cases confirmed to be reported at the Namanga border tested negative when the tests were done in Tanzania.

This has attributed that Kenya wants to send fear and panic of doing business and tourism in the country.

In a previous press conference by the Kenyan Ministry of Health, it stated that 19 individuals who were from Tanzania tested positive and they were referred back to Tanzania.

This followed the imposed strict restrictions by the president in closing the border and not allowing entry. Tanzania also on its end stated that it will also not allow Kenyan truck drivers in the country.
