then the Sadc forces did a very poor job in 1998. halafu pia lazima kujua kama Kabila alivamiwa na militia/ rebels au dissidents from the congolese army. the case in ssudan is very different, because dissidents within the south sudanese army are the source of rebellion.

it resembles the 60s case when CIA operations to ouster Ghanian President kwame nkurumah were rife in the continent. waasi kwenye jeshi la Ghana were the easiest option.

its obvious Sudanese govt is able to defend itself from forest rebels. but this is quite unique. So with uganda foot in ssudan, is this a decleration of war??

..the problem ni kwamba, SADC as an organization was divided with regards to how the situation in DRC was supposed to be handled. Zimbabwe, Namibia,na Angola, walimua kusaidia upande wa Kabila Snr militarily. wakati South Africa, Botswana, and Tanzania, decided to legitimize the rebel groups formed by Uganda and Rwanda by giving them the same status as the Kinshasa government.

..Kama SADC ingekuwa na msimamo wa pamoja wa kukataa uasi, DRC isingekuwa na hali iliyokuwa nayo leo hii. Pia kama Zimbabwe, Angola,na Namibia,wasingeingilia militarily in support of Kinshasa govt' then most likely DRC would have followed Somalis' way, and that is disintegrating into a failed state.

..maoni yangu ni kwamba Kenya should not repeat SADC's [tanzania, south africa, botswana] mistakes because these countries failed DRC big time. The govt in Juba was elected democratically, sasa ni makosa makubwa yeyote yule kujaribu kuiondoa kwa kutumia mtutu wa bunduki.

..IMHO, with their handling of South Sudan, I see Kenya repeating the mistakes that Tanzania made in her handling of DRC crisis in 1998.

..we did not support the first SADC military operation that was supposed to shield Kabila Snr frm attack by Rwanda and Uganda.

..tumefanya makosa makubwa sana, and now we are paying a heavy price ya ku-host refugees, and send our troops to DRC to fight rebel groups that were not even there in 1998.

You have British troops still using Kenyan land which they say is for training purposes, others think is to protect what was left behind "settlers". US used to have a naval base in Mombasa, if that isn't invasion I'm not sure what it is. Having a foreign troop next to yours with little you can do or say about their activities, is a threat to any country.

It seems your lack of definition of invasion is a problem here, I think you could be more helpful if you explain to us the importance of having foreign troop in an independent country like Kenya. I'm sure you were alive during last Kenyan general election, when Kenyatta raised his concern on extraordinary number of British soldiers flown in with no explanation from Britain. No one had the power to stop it, not even the President at the time.
Reading your comment you sound like you're satisfy with having a foreign forces in Kenyan soil, but that is very different to the country like Japan or German, they all wish foreign forces could leave there counties.
I hope utatuambia kama all Kenyans supporting troops of another country in Kenyan soil, maybe TPDF can join in from the south ...hey?. Oh btw... JF has a culture of contributing to any topic brought upon us, I'm guessing in Kenya you calling it trolling.. . Different Strokes For Different Folks

wabongo were invaded by idi amin..... The kagera war......ethiopia were invaded by somali by said bare... Ogaden war.......uganda by tanzania and israel....... Rwand by uganda........during the hutu,tutsi civil war that brought kagame to power with the help of uganda army.sooo kenya has never been and never will be occupied/raped by a foreign army....we are virgins hehehehe

that was a case of minor misunderstanding,an regional power does not just go to war blindly....... And by the way the kenyan gorvernment really thought this through rationally cause kenyan fishermen use the rock to fish inside uganda where the fish is more abandant.......so for kenyans to be allowed to fish inside uganda......they had to allow uganda to use the island as a resting base after fishing....

The reason Kenya reacted the way it did on migingo, is because, before Uganda claimed its theirs, The island had no representation from Kenya govt whatsoever (its like how Kenya ended up claiming Ilemi triangle after taking management of it for a couple of years when Sudan neglected it) , it was of those forgoten places that no one really knew existed.... And the fact that there is no map with a definitive boundary.. Although these Kenyans had been neglected even before that.... It is only after the island dispute started when the govnt of Kenya atempted to legitimize it by sending in govt services like regular medical clinic exersizes , life jackets, life boats and stuff......, infact at the start of the British colonisation in Kenya, Uganda had half of lake Turkana, as years went by the border moves a couple of 100s kilometers, they eventually drew a map giving us a portion of lake Victoria, but it was estimated on paper, not physically.... And since no one really bothered to physically do the mapping, we have relied on rough estimates, and that's why Kenya reacted the way it did.
If Uganda wants to invade, let them invade a place that has a flag on it with the colors of Kenya
