"Kenya now wants SADC to drop bid for AU chair", 'want' is an incorrect word. How can Kenya with its colonial and apartheid affiliations in the 70's and 80's be in a position to 'want' anything from SADC- a block that has paid dearly for colonialism and apartheid? The phrasing of the title is just egoistic, arrogant and portraying super-power-wannabe attitude of Kenyans.
Kenya can only lobby from SADC, she has no moral authority to 'want' anything from SADC.

This is not about jealous, it is about understanding your position internationally-your position in diplomatic cycles. You are strong economically-not diplomatically. For years, you have acted like westerners' mouthpiece on African matters-and you benefited from it during and after cold war. AU would be wary of such a choice to represent African interests.AU is made up of ECOWAS and North African States too which are in COMESA, plus CENTRAL AFRICA.........your SADC isnt the only body!
