Kenya overtakes SA as the biggest imvestor in Africa

Kenya overtakes SA as the biggest imvestor in Africa

With all the problems that plague kenya we still manage to achieve things that no other country in the EAC comes close to achieving.

Put some respect on

Kenyans just might invest in that pipeline too. Just like the tanzanite and you know how that turned out. Hahaha
Problemes !!!!!!!!........

Aki some kenyans mko na ujinga mob sana ( nimejaribu tu)....

Long term economical supremacy without a strong competitor ....
Is it even something to brag about ????.......

Muda umebadilika na sidhani kama Kenya imeshawahi kuwa restless like these days..... Jiulize mantiki yangu

By the way nawakubali sana wakenya kwa juhudi yenu lakini usiyakuze mambo budaa

Kenya's had problems, still has problems sahii and in the near future sioni mabadiliko yakiwa that significant.

It was never a smooth sailing for Kenya, right from the time moi became president till when he stepped down, the nation was virtually stagnant. In fact from 1980 just after Kenyatta's death to 1985 when nyerere stepped down, mlitupita kiuchumi. In 2000 just when we were beginning our economic run after moi stepped down, the difference between us was just $1.5bn!
Gross domestic product (GDP) of Kenya
Gross domestic product (GDP) of Tanzania

Ukilinganisha nyakati hizo na sahii, the gap is widening further, our restlessness which started when south African companies tried unsuccessfully to outcompete us at home has just been increasing. Walitufungua macho tukagundua we are not just limited to our boundaries

By the way leo hii tunakimbizana na Nigeria na Afrika Kusini, halafu tunawatongoza Ethiopia ili watukubali na kufungua uwekezaji wetu uingie kwao maana wale wagumu sana. Hata Somalia tunakwenda kuwekeza huku tukikwepa mabomu.

Mnafungia kila kitu, tukiingia kwenye makubaliano yoyote mnaghairi baadaye. Sisi tumejiamini na tumefungulia mipaka, leo hii Mtanzania akiingia Kenya kufanya kazi, halipi permit zozote. Aje tu, ilmradi awe tayari kushindana na Wakenya.

Nyie mumebana kila kitu hadi hata usafiri, eti nikiingia Tanzania na kupata kibali kinachoniruhusu kutembelea maeneo yote kwenye jamhuri yenu, halafu itokee nataka kuwatembelea jamaa zangu Zanzibar, nauli inakua tofauti kisa mimi Mkenya.

Misifa

Hebu tulia ukue kwanza maana unawaaibisha wakenya wenzio...

This argument is quite laughable...

Countries do not usually formulate economic policies with the aims for attaining regional supremacy by emerging better than the other countries in the neighbourhood, the primary goals are rather to promote development goals and the living standards of the citizenry, (Though I admit that a bit of the competition can inspire some innovative initiatives within the competing countries).

In the late 60s, the newly independent EAC countries, just like all the other recently freed countries around the world embarked on formulating their economic policy recommendations which constituted strategies for broad programme work covering both long term and short term development goals.

Kenya had its African Socialism (which was widely rejected by some critics as not socialist at all, that it was instead a masterpiece of classical capitalism, cloaked as socialism), Tanzania had its Arusha Declaration and Uganda under Obote formulated the Common Man's Charter, (which never got to be implemented owing to the coup that followed about four years later).
All these policies had the common goal of ensuring economic and development growth, as well as improving the living standards of the pipo. These were the urgent concerns of the newly independent states immediately after their independence. None of the policies bore the vision of becoming better than all rest in the region.

The fact that Kenya's economic policy succeeded in propelled it to becoming the largest economically and the most influential country it is today in the region was entirely inadvertent.

What's wrong with SA ????....

From africas economical powerhouse to the regional one !!!!!!....

By the way , congratulations jirani zetu wa kaskazini... HARDWORK PAYS
SA is dead....the GDP growth for 2016 will be 0%....they depend alot on mining products and now the price is dropping

I said, the primary motives for formulating economic policies is to ensure development growth and betterment of the living standards of the pipo. Economic policy for the purposes of regional hegemony is only secondary. These shouldnt be the concerns of the poor developing countries of Africa and the rest of the world at the moment.
The Chinas, USAs and Russias of these world are already wealthy and highly developed. They do not suffer the similar concerns and anxieties inherent in the developing world.
