As far as am concerned, castle breweries is a south African company, which UK SABMiller has shares with, just like EABL is a Kenyan company which UK's daego group has shares.....

Tanzania does not own the brand,it does not own any patents, nor any formulae or recipie, saying Castle is a Tanzanian beer is like me saying Coca-Cola and Pepsi are Kenyan sodas.....
From this website it says tz owns only 5% of the lagar brand

Anyway FYI, before castle had a plant in Tz, they were in Kenya first, that's before the deal they had with EABL broke off and then SAB gave everything they had to eabl and in return EABL gave them the plant they owned in Tz...

The thing is most of the foreign beers in Kenya are brewed locally... But you wont see me claiming pilsner as Kenyan just because its brewed localy

Ama summit za keroche breweries? we can spend all day arguing about the best beer in EA but the fact that tusker is the most sold beer in east and central Africa with 700,000 hectoliters bieng sold p.a is enough. Best beer is in the taste of the drinker, a true beer drinker would know that, so if tusker sells more inside and outside its country of origin then there is your answer!
