Hii refinery ambayo itaanza kazi rasmi mwaka ujao (2020) itaiwezesha Nigeria kuacha kuimport refined oil ambayo itaiwezesha Central Bank of Nigeria kusave foreign exchange reserve ambayo wangeitumia kuimport. This will make Nigeria the most stable country and despite the fact that they are already the wealthiest country in Africa, the gap between Nigeria and other African countries will definitely increase. I was watching on Youtube Dangote refinery importing some humongous machine and i was shocked at how big the machine was and how industrialized Nigeria is going to be in the next few years. It is simply the biggest equipmment ever imported into Africa. Africa is truly rising wakati wengine wetu tunalala usingizi tu. Watch the video.

Economies of scale do not allow such projects to turn a profit. That is a very small refinary compared to what brazil/america/india/europe has. and ofcourse the volatile nature of crude prices means the investor must have deep pockets to cover short term loses..But since its dangote..Well it worth a try

Boss. this is going to be the biggest single-train refinery in the world and overall it is one of the biggest refineries in the world. Do your research before bringing here your usual negativity. This refinery will process 600,000 bpd of oil. ‘Completion of Dangote refinery will help Africa’s sloppy economy’ – Daily Trust

Nigeria and other African countries will soon heave a sigh of relief from the sloppy economic situation occasioned by price instability with the imminent completion of the Dangote Refinery and other modular refineries in Nigeria, the Dangote Group said yesterday.
Already, the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, at a forum in Egypt, said his country was anxiously waiting for the readiness of the Dangote Refinery to save his government from economic distortion caused by massive importation of petroleum from Europe.

The Technical Adviser on Refinery and Petrochemicals to the President of Dangote Group, Engr. Babajide Soyode, said the completion of the Dangote Refinery and other modular refinery projects in Nigeria would culminate in the integration of the downstream industries, lower cost of business and stabilise the prices of petroleum products across Africa.
Engr. Soyode made this assertion during a panel session on “Refining, Transportation and Petrochemicals Forum” at the just concluded 2019 Nigeria International Petroleum Summit in Abuja.

He emphasised the need for the Federal Government to fully deregulate the downstream sector.
He said “by the time Dangote completes the largest single train-refinery, in addition to what other investors are doing, Nigeria will have more than enough petrol for domestic use and for export.”

Unajilinganisha nao nini sasa!!

Total oil consumption in the world is 100m Barrels per day
Dangote's Refinery is 600k bpd which is 0.006% of world demand.
That is a very small capacity refinary, the costs of processing a barrel will be higher..But ofcourse dangote is cashed he is also a very major user of petroleum in his companies so it should workout
