Sometimes you fail astonishingly, when you here plans and settings that interprets our 'black' failing brains.
In this week's issue of the EastAfrica newspaper, Tee Ngugi is presenting a new way of nursing retired presidents of Kenya. The nursing is actually a financial infusion to the retirees families, which as per his arithmetics totals US$ 1 million, annually. I hope he is right as this figure is baked by good sub-totals of the planned expenditure.

My problem is like Tee puts it. Is this necessary? Why do we, Africans, plan for the dead. The dead because the two presidents who are to consume the amount, they actually don't need the monies! Then, such this arrangement raises more question. If the two retirees are to be nursed by this huge amount, what is the figure for the sitting president?

If a country means the president and retired presidents, that is okay but have we exhausted all the problems of Kenyans who since independence have been languishing in poverty? btw. This is the year of shameful hunger deaths to Kenyans who couldn't get a government helping hand! Shameful!
