Kenya's $3.5 Billion Road Project Delayed by Debt Concerns

Kenya's $3.5 Billion Road Project Delayed by Debt Concerns

So in your opinion SA is perfect model for all African to follow? Why your selling yourself short?

Stop twisting the argument and yes, SA is 100 times better than Tanzania. Any Tanzanian would wish Tz was like SA.

You're really good at criticizing Kenya while your own country is being run like a dog kennel. If you guys gave a quarter of focus you give Kenya to your own country, Tanzania would be where SA is.
Hili ndilo tatizo la Afrika hasahasa Kenya, this guy is having very good point about this project, instead of building your case to respond to him, you start protecting your poor planning, is it not wise if you buy something useless and your neighbour tries to advice you, are you going to tell your neighbour that please concentrate with your life never mind about me, is that how wise people act?

Maybe you're right. However, it's absurd when the neighbor is criticizing (that's the word, not advising) you for buying a Toyota Axio for instance at 1.5 million (KES) yet the same neighbor a few weeks ago bought a 1970 Peugeot 404 at 1.5 million. See? How serious would you take that neighbor? That's why I tell you sometimes it's good to mind your own business - a hyena can never advice an eagle on how to fly.

Those countries developed long ago when our forefathers were still living in the jungle. We can not take everything after them. Look at China, Singapore,UAE, Qatar... they are doing mega infrastructure than what the west have.. we are in a different time.. The west can give a model for the best institutions because they have become better and stronger over time.
The hardest thing to do is to justify $2.3billion, 470 km, eight lane expressway. The whole SGR from Mombasa to Malaba will cost $10billion, half of Mombasa Nairobi expressway. Yes Africa needs infrastructure but at this cost? $2.3bllion for 470km?

$2.3billion ama $23?

And what is that 1970 404 Peugeot? Isn't the story a neighbor with Toyota Axio advising u with 404 Peugeot?

We uko na kichwa mzuri ati $23bn?

I don't trust Bechtel one bit. I remember during the george bush era they were involved in alotta shady deals. I'd personally ask for more vetting of this deal.

Are you Kenyan? If you not why should the price affect you? I mean you won't pay anything for that.

Am honestly baffled by Tanzanians interest in Kenyan affairs.. I wish I would understand why.

You should've taken five more minute and scan the whole Kenyan sections before coming with one-sided comment like this.

I have been here and haven't seen Kenyas starting threads to discuss projects in Tz... How it will benafit them, how they maybe white elephants, how the price was cheap or expensive... Tz will open threads from morning to evening on anything negative in Kenya.

I saw guys celebrating road accidents in Kenya... I mean this hatred is beyond...

Kwanza ni kuangakia manufaa ya miradi wenyewe kabla ya kufikiria ufadhili.

I've also seen treads started by Kenyans mocking Albino killing and street beggars. We haven't even talk about undermining our people. But Kenyans would always want play victims card even though they're the most vile people when they online.

Kenyans are always on the defence when they bring such stuff up.
