Justs a heads up. No need for conjectures. Kampala technically is not on l. Victoria. Its about 24 miles or 30 min drive to the lake. True its in the area of l. Victoria. So my bad should have stated on lake victoria not area.
Mwanza generates over $3.5 billion annually to Tz Gdp. Major industries (not all listed )
13 fish processing factories with the installed capacity to process about 1,065 tonnes of fish per day.
produces an average of 56,906 tonnes of cotton per year.
Two meat factories processing meat hide and skin.
Minierals gold and diamonds
Agro industires.

Are you talking of Mwanza Province or Mwanza city? As far as I know, the population of Mwanza City and Metro - The second largest city in Tanzania, is around 700,000 people which is just above a half of Mombasa City (1.2M) and a fifth of Mombasa Metro (3.5M)
