Mtuhumiwa huyo ambaye ni mama wa watoto 3 alipandishwa kizimbani pamoja na anayedaiwa kumnunua mtoto huyo, Bi. Bernadette Musanya.
Korti ilielezwa kuwa Mtuhumiwa huyo wa kwanza alijifungua mtoto wa kike aitwaye Fridah Mutheu katika kituo cha afya cha Kanyangi siku ya Desemba 29, 2017 huko Kitui na siku 3 baadaye yaani siku ya mwaka mpya ndipo alimuuza kwa Bi. Musanya.
Wawili hao walikubali mashtaka ambapo mama huyo alidai amefanya hayo kutokana na umasikini unaomkabili na aliona atashindwa kumlea mtoto huyo pamoja na watoto wake wengine wawili.

A 25-year-old woman was Tuesday charged in a Kitui court with selling her three-day-old infant for Sh10,000.
Sarahi Kwamboka was arraigned before Kitui resident magistrate Johnstone Munguti facing child trafficking charges.
The suspect, a single mother of three, was charged alongside the child alleged buyer, Bernadette Musanya.
The first accused, the court was told, gave birth to a girl named Fridah Mutheu at Kanyangi health centre in Kitui rural constituency on December 29 and sold it to Ms Musanya.
According to the charge sheet, she committed the offence three days later on New Year’s day.
The two pleaded guilty to the charges and were remanded at Kitui GK prison, awaiting a report on the custody of the newborn from the children's department before a ruling is made.
The mother told the court that she sold the child out of desperation because she could not afford raising her alongside her other two children.
Her neighbours at Kanyangi, where she earns a living washing clothes, raised the alarm and reported the missing child to the police.
The hearing of the case has been set for January 18.
