Kuweka engine ya 1KZ kwenye Land Rover Discovery

1HZ ni engine imara sana ila nadhani ni kutoitumia ipasavyo kuikiweka kwenye bodi ya Discovery. 1HD-FE hapo ndo power zaidi ila ni kurudi kule kule ninapokwepa, yaani fuel cost. Vile vile, kutokana na ukubwa wa hizi engine, inaweza zisi-fit kwenye engine bay ya Discovery. Engine swap inafanyika sana hapa Bongo betweeen the same make na different makes.

Sasa hapo fundi lazima aumize kichwa kwenye size ya bay na injini..................kuhusu mafuta mkuu nadhani urudi kwenye mchanganuo tena 1HD-FE kwenye wese mbona iko sawa sana ila vipuri vyake ndio ghali sana. Ukisema 1Hz kwa Discovery sio sawa sijakupata vizuri kwamba ni under utilization au vipi!!!?????

Kubadili injini najua sana tu mkuu ila hii ya discovery sijakutana nayo, hadi za 2L na 3L kwenya 3Y zote najua mpaka bell housing change....

Hamna engine ime setiwa inaenda km ngap kwa lita mpaka iekwe kwenye gar waangalie gear ratio za gearbox na diff kwa ujumla size ya tair ndo utajua inaweza kwenda km ngap kwa lita
 
its better utafte diesel powered discovery kuliko kufanya conversion ambyo haipo.engine swappin ya discovery goes in hand with pajero.ila ts soo expensive.kama u need a diesel discovery and ni adimu tafuta 2.5dhse range rover mbna bei nafuu sana.

1HD ni engine za vx hzo.so 1 litre might go kwa 10km kwa usiku coz hakuna foleni ila mchana its lower kidogo maana ni 4200cc if am not mistaken

Hakuna haja ya madongo mkuu tujadili tu......nimeona Freelanders mbili zikiwa na 3S Engines. Ila sikujua kama bell housing ina match

Ni zaid ya 10 kwa FE type sababu kama natumia IKz say nikiweka 50 thousand narudi filling station mapema kuliko nikiweka same amount kwa 1HD (Vx 100). Pamoja na foleni I better use 1HD kuliko KZJ

Nilichoona so far wanafunga engine na gear box ya Rav4 kwenye Freelander. Tatizo ni usomaji wa speedometer tu. Kwa mawazo yangu ni vigumu kutumia gear box ya Freelander kwenye engine ya Rav4 kwani havitaoana kwenye "control box" (ECU). Sasa hapo, kinadharia, upate fundi mzuri wa umeme atumie ECU zote mbili, ya Rav4 kwa ajili ya engine na ya Freelander kwa ajili ya gearbox. Ila kama ni manual transmission, kinadharia, nafikiri inawezekama kama masuala ya bell housing yakizingatiwa etc.

Land Rover Discovery ni gari ambayo nzuri sana kwa ndani na bei yake si kubwa sana. Tatizo kubwa ni kwamba engine yake mara nyingi huwa ni za petroli na ni engine kubwa ambazo gharama za mafuta inakuwa juu sana.

Nimeona gari nyingi za Benz saloon zikiwekewa engine ya Toyota Mark II, na Pajero zikiwekewa engine ya 1KZ. Vile vile nimeona Land Rover Freelander zikiwekewa engine ya Rav4. Ningependa kujua kama kuna fundi Dar ambaye anaweza kufanya conversion hii, zaidi sana kama ataweza kubadili engine tu bila gearbox. Kwa akili yangu ndogo, atumie control box (ECU) ya 1KZ kuendesha engine na atumie control box ya Landrover kubadli gear na kuendesha suspension system yote kwa ujumla.

Nina pajero short-chassis ambayo nilitoa disel engine yake (4d56) na kuweya toyota 3Y engine.
Nimeitumia karibu miaka tisa sasa with no issues lakini nimeichoka sasa.

I like the body shape ya 2004-06 Freelander, but the engine is just mavi. Nimeona possible solution ya kutatua tatizo la overheating na I think it requires kuipiga pasi cylinder head, as quoted below:

"...Tried everything, water pump, radiator, thermostat, header tank cap, yep the works and still no go.
Ended up taking to Land Rover wrecker/repairer in Brooklyn Melbourne and let him do his thing.
Six months later after a virtual engine rebuild the initial problem was finally diagnosed and rectified. After the heads were worked on they were dyed to ensure that everything was ok. At this time the dye showed up an extremely fine rectified fault. Apparently it is a fault that occurs in Fords quite regularly but no so in Land Rovers.
It is known as "channeling". Basically a super fine "channel" occurs between the head and the head gasket on the head itself. This allows the coolant to escape under extreme pressure and temperature, but only at minimal levels of loss. Unfortunately however it causes an almost immediate and extremely high temperature rise in the system when placed under pressure.
So when we were driving locally at @60kph the system operated perfectly well, but when we placed pressure on the system and increased to @80kph it immediately began to overheat and cause a loss in water pressure which the system compensated by increasing the temperature. ...
So there you are people another possible diagnosis of fault for freelander (now known as freeloader)"


Kwa upande wangu naona kuweka injini ya Toyota is the best solution kama unataka kukaa na gari kwa mda mrefu.
Now I am researching how to do it right. The 3Y engine in my Pajero is a carburetor engine, so I never dealt with the ECU/control box. But with the Freelander it will be a must and should be impossible. Ningependa kutumia gear box ya Freelander, so I am now researching how to go about it...

4. Kwa uzoefu wa kutumia hizo gari mbili ukinipa safari sasa hivi kutoka Dar to Arusha i will straight go for Hd-fe (Cruiser 100) without hesitation

Swali. . . Hivi Noah na Rav 4 old model za 3S na Mark X 250G consumption zake zikoje na cc zake zikoje??!!!

mkuu wengi hapo ndio huwa wanajichanganya wengi.huwa wanaangalia mambo ya cc na kujua kuwa gari yenye cc kubwa ndio inakula sana mafuta lakini sio kweli cha msingi ni kuangalia technologia iliyotumika kwenye gari husika
 
^^ mimi nina gari ya turbo cc 2200 lakini inakunywa mafuta zaidi ya cc 4200 landrover 🙁
 
mkuu,lazima ubadili engine na gearbox complete....pia differential ya L/ROVER na IKZ ni tofauti,landrover disc wanatumia mikono mifupi kama drive shaft fulani na ikz toyotas wanatumia traditional differential yenye mtungi kwahio kuna vitu vingi sana vya kubadili na kukata na kuunga miguu ya mbele na nyuma.

european car nyingi zina control box mbili...ya engine na ya vitu vingine vya gari...wanaobadili engine huwa wanaweka control box ya toyota inarun engine na ile ya vitu vingine vya gari inabaki hivyo hivyo.

USHAURI WANGU: kama discovery ni V8 na unaogopa wese tafuta engine yake TD5,TDV6 weka nakuhakikishia itakuwa cheap na less headache kuliko kubadili kila kitu
Mkuu nasikia hata td5 zinasumbua hata gharama ya nozzle zake ipo juu sana
