Lake Turkana wind power Project employs new wind tower technology: iconic structure to be built.

it's not blessing, it's seizing the moment and taking the opportunity, there are many dry , hot, windy areas in africa (along the Sahara desert belt ) and other areas around the world ,

now
we have the biggest single geothermal plant, by 2020 we''ll probably be no.1 in geothermal production in the world (currently we are 8th)

we have the largest biogas plant in Africa (it was launched last month)

by 2017, we will have the largest wind farm and the largest solar power farm...

yaani on clean energy, by 2020, we''ll be the trend setter when it comes to renewable energy, Kenya will be the MPESA of clean energy (you won't be able to talk of clean energy without a sentence mentioning Kenya as an example)

Exactly...blessings.

Somebody answer me am bursting with excitement pkjag is that 600m by 383m structure alone going to produce 1200mw ama they will build like ten more????!
This is huge if that structure singularly alone can produce 1200mw Wat if 30 counties out of the 47 each decide to deployed that technology by building two such things?????!
That is 36000mw without a sweat about melt down or environmental impacts I swear I love this government I hated it at first but I must say THIS DAYS WANASEMA NA KUTENDA FOR REAL...

Kama that one tower will give that much Iconoclastes I think africa and middle east just found their way out of Chinese products
He he, si we currently produce around twice that from the MANY power sources that we have currently?
Now, I was wunderin if just one tower gives off that much...and then, like u have postulated above, the posibility of every county in Kenya being able to construct at least one of those...wow!

Solar Wind Energy Tower, Inc. Selects Elperta Industries as Representative to Pursue Energy Tower Development in Kenya Africa

ANNAPOLIS, MD--(Marketwired - July 20, 2015) - Solar Wind Energy Tower, Inc. (OTCQB: SWET) (the "Company"), the inventor of large Solar Wind Downdraft Tower structures capable of producing abundant, inexpensive electricity, today announced that on July 18th, 2015 ("Effective Date"), the Company entered into a Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") with Elperta Industries Co. Limited in Nairobi, Kenya East Africa ("Elperta") to pursue the finance and development of its thermal downdraft Towers Facilities ("Tower Facility") in Kenya.

Elperta is able to finance, construct, and place in operation such Tower Facility, subject to obtaining necessary consents and approvals and other pre-development activity. Moreover, the developer has already identified potential suitable sites as well as offtake customers in the region.

The agreement signed between the parties sets forth specific terms for SWET to receive development fees and royalties from Tower project(s) in Kenya, while allowing Elperta a 6 month exclusivity period to fully evaluate and vet a specific site identified for the first Tower Facility. Each facility is estimated to have an installed capacity rating of up to 1,250 megawatts.

Ron Pickett, CEO of Solar Wind Energy Tower, commented, "The Company has been in discussions with Elperta and two other potential developers since last fall -- focused on the Lake Turkana region of Kenya, an area the Kenyan government has targeted for energy projects. We have evaluated this site and deemed it adequate to support a Tower project. East Africa needs energy to develop its resources. International organizations and banks are committed to assisting African nations to develop infrastructure projects and energy development is essential."

He continued, "Elperta was ultimately chosen as our development partner given their strong track record, identified potential customer pipeline and ties to various financing opportunities. Upon the completion of strategic development milestones, SWET and Elperta may enter into a long-term agreement where they will have exclusive use of all of our technology, patents, trade secrets, and development know-how, together with technical support, project management and long-term operations and maintenance services to ensure the successful development and utilization of Tower Facilities in the region."

About Solar Wind Energy Tower, Inc. Founded in 2010, Solar Wind Energy Tower, Inc., and its wholly owned commercializing subsidiary, Solar Wind Energy, Inc., is the inventor of the patented Solar Wind Downdraft Tower, which uses state of the art technologies and construction systems to produce abundant, inexpensive electricity, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and the Energy Generation Calculator software which can calculate and predict energy production of a Tower given a site's local weather data.

The Company secured the site for its first Tower project in the U.S. in the City of San Luis, Arizona which may be ready for operation as soon as 2018. Under the most recent design specifications, the first Tower in San Luis, Arizona has a design capacity on an hourly basis of up to 1,250 megawatt hours, gross.

The Company is also focused on licensing its development know-how and establishing partnerships at home and abroad to propagate Tower development projects in return for licensing fees for territories, development fees during construction, and recurring royalty fees based on the actual kilowatt hours produced by the Tower. Solar Wind Energy has assembled a team of experienced business professionals, engineering and scientific consultants with the proven ability to bring this solution to market.

The Company's core objective and focus is to become a leading enabler of clean, efficient renewable energy to world communities, at a reasonable cost, without the destructive residuals of fossil fuels, while continuing to generate innovative technological solutions to meet tomorrow's electrical power needs. Solar Wind Energy has filed and been issued patents that the Company believes will further enhance this potentially revolutionary technology. Solar Wind Energy Tower, Inc., based in Annapolis, MD, is traded on the OTCQB under the symbol "SWET

sam999 Unfortunately guys, this tower can only work optimumly in conditions kama za Lake Turkana, it's a desert with a lake, so lots of humidity and sunshine, therefore lots of wind (hence the term Solar Wind), if there are more towers to be built they'll be built in Turkana. These guys chose Kenya because they were rejected in the US and also because of Lake Turkana.

Woooow this is just a game changer sasa si wa Ethiopia wataisha grand dam yao ni 9bn$ na ina wapea 6000mw in 10yrs construction

Swet ni 1bn$ ina peana 1.27GW
na construction ni 3yrs naona plans za nuclear zikiwa tanked!

please note that this project may take years to materialize or even start, don't get your hopes too high but the fact that they have signed deals and are considering Kenya as their ideal investment destination for such a project is awesome.

pkjag wacha sasa nikupe uhondo

300 days in most counties in Kenya huwa pure sunlight with the sun in garissa county burning as hot as 52 degrees celcius garissa is drier than turkana

We have Chalbi desert the only desert in East Africa
We have marsabit county with only 800k pple

We have turkana county that is larger than south Korea with only 2.7mn pple

We have Mandera, garissa, tana river, Kajiado, baringo, nakuru, Wajir lamu north, among other counties that are dry as https://jamii.app/JFUserGuide

So this technology could actually go far imagne then 10 counties in North and North East get like 50 such in the next 15yrs?

we need all the power we can get ,nuclear will still be in the mix as long as 21 000 MW is the target for vision 2030

Nuclear was rejected in USA too before they witnesses its wonders in world war 2 pkjag ndo ikaanza kutumika large scale and USA is largely dependant on fossil fuel mpaka Iko na ma climate change deniers so hii project could potentially make alaska and texas poorer...

sam999 But those areas do not have as much wind, the technology combines both solar and wind, the wind comes from Lake Turkana, Turkana/Marsabit counties are pretty big so they can more than accomodate any number of these structures.

.
these are the guys from the original company whose technology was patented from.

Tangulieni Kenya. Sisi bado tunamtukana Lowassa kuwa ndiyo kasababisha tuwe MASIKINI.

Zamani alikuwa Dr Slaa ila sasa hivi Slaa siyo tatizo tena. Malofa na Wapumbavu huku akili zetu zikiwa za samaki.

be aware that this project will only happen if the ones currently being constructed in the USA are successful .they say the first one will be online by 2018, so if this project is to happen in Kenya expect it as late as 2020 at least,
